Who else didnât know that british people call their money pound sterlings. I thought it was simply pounds. I feel like trying to unpeel the etymology of âpound sterlingsâ would probably make my brain crumble
I think the pound used to be cast in sterling silver
So itâs basically the same as âdollar billsâ but different. Ah, *turns to dust*
*reforms as a red phantom* heheh, thought you could get away that easy did you? Have at you! *attacks*
Silver and other precious metals used to be valued by how much time it took, on average, to obtain that amount of metal, hence pound (of) sterling.
