Gathering the other Heroes (sorry for late upload, was dying of gastro)

The wolf stepped forward as Warriors stood holding the blade towards it, "Sky, wake up... Come on" He nudged with his foot but Sky was still out cold, "Okay fine, but I'm keeping it's skin" He sighed with a step forward. The wolf dodged each blow effortlessly, it's eyes followed every movement he made and pushed him back each time, Warriors had been backed into the remains of the barn without noticing until the wolf laid down panting, "Is this a game to you? What are you" He asked to which the wolf sat on it's hind legs like a person, "Okay, you think you're a person? Is that what it is" He asked crouching down to it's level slowly. The wolf sniffed at the pouch on his side opening it with it's mouth, "There's no treats in there" He tried to push it's nose out but it was too strong, letting a deep growl out while grabbing the light essence bottle and darting off with it.

Despite it's size, the wolf was fast, running circles around Warriors whenever he caught up, "Give that back you filthy dog" He shouted but the wolf opened the vial and lapped the contents. It's body looked to be dissolving into black particles before revealing a stocky rancher, "You soldiers are late, I dealt with the monsters already" The rancher wiped his face, checking it for blood. "We don't even know where we are, those black clouds brought us here" Warriors shouted, "The bird told me, look it's too much to explain right now but I need to see if my family is okay" He ran off down the paddock towards a small village, "Are you going to replace the light magic, asshole? That stuff is rare" Warriors chased after him leaving Sky with his bird.

"No, sorry. I can't shift back to normal without light or Twili magic" His pace went from a power walk to a light sprint. "Then why take on an irreversible form in the first place? How do you even" Warriors was cut off, "Because I had to. You'd do the same to lure monsters away from your home" He stopped, pointing directly at Warriors forehead. Grabbing the rancher's hand to start a fight but then realising he too had the mark of the Triforce. "You're a hero like my companion and myself" His anger simmered down showing the matching golden mark. Their angers simmered down. "Another Hero? You shouldn't be alive" The rancher inspected Warriors hand, "We aren't from whenever this time is, let me explain while you make your way to your home" He sighed. The explanation matched with Crimson's but in more detail, the villagers were barricaded in their homes yet they slowly emerged upon seeing the rancher.

"They're Humans? I didn't think there were any left" Warriors noticed their smaller ears and stature. "We are doing well, thriving away from Hyrule... We used to be more open to the Kingdom until... Nevermind" The rancher looked downcast, "You're Hylian though? What are you doing here" Warriors pushed his questions. "My father was Hylian, I have his features but I am more Human" He snapped as he left to check everyone for injuries before returning to the paddock where Warriors decided to return to. "Everyone's okay, the monsters weren't after them but the animals and our resources. Monsters normally don't attack us unless they're smart enough to follow orders looking for someone" He explained, "That's good, so you'll be able to join us then" Warriors asked, "Yes, The mayor agreed to let me go, those monsters today were more or less after me anyways" The rancher sat down luring some goats over.

Once Sky came back from his comatose state, the Heroes spoke, the rancher's title was Twilight and he spoke of his ordeals and a half apology for using up the light essence. "It's okay, if you're looking for light magic to morph back, my sword's blade has light magic inside the very metal itself. A replica of the Goddess' sword, her daughter helped forge it" Sky revealed a perfect replica of the sword he began his trials with. "If you know the daughter of the Goddess, then you must be from an ancient time long before now" Twilight thought out loud while scratching behind the ears of one goat. "Maybe... Though her title is more or less decorative, she's not her but has her light magic" Sky explained partially since it would be too much to explain the nature of his best friend's true identity. "So those things are goats? They're enormous" Warriors changed the subject, "Ordonian goats are more wild than Hylian goats, a more ancient lineage I guess. Twilight smiled, the rest of the evening and night were peaceful, they were to set out in the morning.

The beginning of the rifts

Notes: linked universe, angst, meeting the Chain, Warriors and Sky, chronically ill Sky is totally canon,

Monsters seemed to gather in hoards wherever those unnatural black clouds formed. They started as few but became more frequent over the months. Soon they were called rifts after monsters long thought to be extinct began reappearing as if there had been some rift in time hence the name. Ever since the battles to restore order to the Gate of Time, they should have stopped but only grew worse, the knights were thinned and exhausted already from battling Cia nearly a year earlier but the rifts could have been the final blow if it weren't for Link going head first into the rift to kill the source.

There was no finale, only the start of something bigger. The other side of the black cloud opened into an unfamiliar land, the open skies above with fluffy, white clouds nearly in reach. The village ahead was beautiful, old homes with colourful windows and an enormous statue of a goddess in the centre. Nearby the main plaza was set up with a large market in the sunlight yet it was empty, stalls were left as they were. He wondered what happened, picking through each for answers but a flash of red and being hoisted off his feet took him by surprise.

The ground was nowhere in sight, he looked up to see an enormous bird carrying him somewhere. Holding onto it's powerful legs for dear life until being gently placed down on a mysterious floating isle where everyone else was. There was chatter from each end, families huddled together in fear trying to distract their children with little things from the market in hand "That's the last one, the whole of Skyloft has been evacuated, a knight but I don't recognise him" The young man ontop of the bird called. "I'm not from here, I don't even know where I am" Link answered, "What do you mean, how did you get here" The bird jockey asked, "I went through the rift, those black clouds to see where the monsters kept coming from" He answered. "You... You went through that? Those clouds are toxic" The other knights were confused, "My Princess gave me light magic to protect me" He showed a pendant full of light magic essence to the jockey. "Light magic... Like what the Goddess used?" He sent the others away so they could speak in private.

"I am a Hero chosen by Her Grace, Hylia. Hero of the Skies, I need answers on how you or that Princess got that" The bird jockey spoke quietly, "I am a chosen Hero too... Hero of Warriors, my Princess is a descendant of Hylia" Link replied, "That can't be right, there's only one Hero at a time... But you came from that rift so... But Her Grace only has one daughter. Prove to me you were chosen" The Skyward Hero asked confused but serious, "I don't think I'm from whatever time this is, but we need to work together to end these before more people get hurt. I'm just as confused as you" Link sighed taking his left gauntlet off to reveal the mark of the Triforce, after inspecting the mark, the Sky Hero agreed to speak more. He agreed to set off with this other Hero to go into another rift to see if the causes were still in there after he spoke with the other knights to care for the others until his return. "They were everywhere, the Loftwings were frightened off and people were stranded. It was meant to be the Loftwing Festival today, the time when hatchlings come to Skyloft for the first time... A special day for families ruined, the whole academy and myself evacuated everyone to this island before figuring out the next step" Sky explained. They agreed to go by their titles as they shared the same name, the discussions were short but the journey was long until the next rift was found.

"No matter what happens, don't let go of me" Sky called as he commanded his great bird to plummet into the rift in an incredible drop, Warriors had no time to think as fear wracked his body. The wind howled in his ears until the eerie cold of the rift hit, then the warmth of the sun returned. They were soaring above a woodland in a more familiar land. "Sky, I think we are in another place, this isn't the same skyline" Warriors finally opened his eyes. Sky commanded the bird to land in a field nearby where he dismounted and fell to his feet, "Before you ask, it's a medical thing. It's too long to explain but my heart can't take prolonged stress" He laid down against the bird who was sitting with it's beak open panting. "Are you seriously going to have a heart attack in the middle of who knows where?" Warriors asked concerned, "No, it's not a heart attack... I'm tired and so is Crimson" He petted the bird's wing. "Come sit down with me, Crimson wants to know you better" He smiled gesturing to come over. "So, what's this thing anyway" Warriors asked, "What do you mean? Everyone has a Loftwing, we pair with them as babies... Like what was supposed to happen today, they are our guardians given to us by the Goddess. Nobody knows where they have their young so we believe that they come from her realm itself outside of our reach" Sky's replies grew slower as he was losing consciousness. He'd been fighting off monsters and evacuating the whole of Skyloft for an entire day.

The field was actually a large paddock where the occasional goat approached, the remnants of a barn were nearby too, burnt down into a crude mass of ashes. "Those are weird goats, too large for Hylian ones..." He tried to lure one over for a better view, it came up to sniff his hand with a soft bleat leaning in to nibble his scarf but it ran away after something in the woodland behind the paddock ruins spooked it. "Hey, wake up I think there's something in the woods" He tried to wake Sky up but he was out cold, Crimson stretched his neck in the direction of the trees puffing his feathers up while letting out a deep hiss. "Come on, come on" He shook Sky but nothing worked, The great bird stood up clacking it's beak loudly unlike anything else, the beast emerged seeing the challenge.

A large, wolf with a deep grey coat stepped forth, it's eyes were piercing blue and of a person, not an animal, it also had a diamond like marking on it's forehead that was no natural pattern and strange, long hackles on it's neck. It was no natural wolf, the way it's eyes locked onto Crimson was calculated, baring it's teeth to growl in a pattern as if it was trying to speak. Terrified, Warriors reached for his sword grabbing the wolf's attention instead.
