Hat in Time’s very own Hat Kid comes dropping in from her space ship to play with some Smashers. I swear this one character was one of the first ones I wanted to make a character for, but man did I have the hardest time agreeing with myself on some of the moves. Anyway, enough chilling out, onto the moves!
Neutral Special: Brewing Hat
Hat Kid’s hat changes into a witches hat complete with a few little vials attached to it. She’d produce a potion and begin shaking it, possibly to increase the damage if shaken for about 2 or 3 seconds, before simply tossing it causing a little explosion upon impact with anything.
Side Special: Sprint Hat
That top hat gets exchanged for a red open hat with wings on either side. In this hat she would get a little dash charging through anyone that dares get in her way. It’d probably have slight super armor, but I wouldn’t think much damage reduction. It’s meant for speed, not power.
Down Special: Ice Hat
This time a blue knitted hat adorns our trusty Hat Kid’s head, complete with a snowflake on top. This hat causes her to become a block of ice and slam down where she is. As heavy as it looks, it’s not the most damaging, but gives you a good stun on your opponent. The ice shatters once it hits the ground making it pretty quick to attack upon attack completion.
Up Special: Dweller’s Mask
Admittedly the one I had the most difficulty deciding, but decided this would work out. Hat Kid places a orange fox mask on her face. Upon activation causes a platform of green energy to appear underneath her. This allows her to use her double jump again, but not the mask a second time, until hit or touching solid ground. Don’t DWELL on the platform long, it won’t stick around for too long.
Final Smash: Time Stop Hat + Projectile Badge
Hat Kid has stopped playing around! (Probably not, this is probably just as fun to her) This time applying a hat that stops time for a short duration, before charging her trusting umbrella. A large light blue beam of energy is fired out of the umbrella top making it a powerful hit, that’s hard to dodge.
That’ll due for now, may do a bit more on her, tiny bit late now. Hope you like it.
The purple dragon of the Artisan’s World joins the fray. Specials, let’s see...
Standard Special: Flame Breath
A quick puff of fire in front of Spyro. Unlike charizard and Bowser, this wouldn’t be a constant stream, but just a half second burst of fire. It would most likely do more damage than the other two, but as you can’t hold it, it’d not hold anyone in it, nor have much in the way of knock back.
Forward Special: Horn Charge
Spyro runs at a pretty good speed, head down, horns ready to slam through anyone that gets in his way. Similar to Bowser Jr’s kart, he’d go through anyone hit and deal a bit more than Jr. too. But be warned, if you hit a wall with Spyro while charging he has quite the stun from the blow. Hitting walls with your head does hurt a bit.
Down Special: Headbash
Spyro does a flip and comes crashing from the air downwards with his horns. If preformed in the air he will stop right there to do the flip and fall until he collides with the ground. However if from the ground he would dive a distance forward before crashing down.
Up Special: Shuttle Loop
Using his wings to fly, Spyro does a launching upward spin, giving himself some lift while doing so. There’s a little more horizontal momentum than MetaKnight’s, and less upward lift.
Final Smash: Super Gate
Spyro jumps in place causing a supercharge gate to appear for a moment, allowing him to run super fast colliding into any foe unlucky to be in his path. This would make anyone hit to go into a short cutscene showing Spyro go through a Super Flame gate, now allowing him to spit strong fireballs at those who were hit by the charge causing rather heavy damage, before returning to the battlefield and sending the victims flying.
TAUNTS
1, Spyro sits down, yawning, then brushes back his head spines.
2. Sparx appears, causing Spyro to watch him fly around, before finally making them look toward the camera.
3. Spyro hops in place before going into his signature aggressive looking pose.
VICTORY
1. A sheep bounces into screen, before being toasted, making a butterfly fly from it. The camera freezes on Sparx eating the butterfly with Spyro smiling where the sheep has disappeared from.
2. Spyro does a few spinning hops before giving the camera a big smile.
3. Spyro charges after a sheep that bounds off screen, before they both reappear going the other way, freezing mid charge.
So this is my first character idea for the blog. Hope you like it. There maybe small changes here or there to others in the future until I’m comfortable with what we got.
Welcome to my blog. I’m still a bit new at running a blog but I’ll try what I can!
As for what this blog is about, well it’s character concepts for video game characters that would be fun in the Smash Brothers games. No I do not expect any of them to make it in, but it’s fun to imagine them anyway.
Now before we get too much further I want to set a few mini rules, and guidelines I plan to follow.
1. None of these characters are a cry out that they MUST be in. It’s just for fun.
2. I will ONLY do video game characters. The character must originate from a video game, or be mostly known for being from a video game. Those this rule maybe broken once or twice just for fun, I won’t make it a habit. (I.E. I MAY do Goku for the lols as he’s a popular pick but don’t get used to it.)
3. I won’t be making a huge set of moves. Mostly just specials and final smashes. Maybe taunts and entrances. I’m not sure. But I won’t be going over every up tilt, pummel, all that stuff. In that same light, I also don’t plan to like perfectly balance this kind of thing. I may still mention small damage and what not, but if a move sounds “unfair” these won’t be perfect.
4. I am not opposed to suggestions from anyone if they have one. Just a side note I may not be able to make a move set for a character I’ve never played their game before, or know little about. I can attempt to research but priority will be on ones I can personally think of anything for.
5. This is for fun, so if it’s not the moves you think would fit then go ahead and politely suggest what you think could fit. I’m open to other ideas.
Now that that’s all said and done, Lets go wild!
