Kicap RM9.00

I was in Econsave today, while waiting for my daughter to finish her class. Econsave is one of the supermarkets that I frequent for my groceries, as they have some of the best bargains in town. It reminded me of Aldi and Lidl back in the UK, although much smellier and messier... I dont mind it much, bukannya nak dok berjam2 dlm tu. As I was passing the shelves, I overheard a middle aged couple (no doubt with several kids) discussing the necessities that they should buy or abandon this time. One of the item is my once favourite Kicap Fan Prawn which big bottle is now priced at RM9.00 (it was RM7 plus je dulu). From the giest of their hushed conversation, I could tell that the kids would have to be happy with a cheaper substitute. Nowadays, RM9 is considered too expensive for a bottle of much loved condiment to our daily meals. Hmm... Agaknya kalau komplen lebih, ada tak orang akan cakap takpayah makan kicap kalau tak mampu? Ataupun, kalau nak makan kicap buat la sendiri? Feel sad. Money dictates everything these days.
