The sudden change in stance from the other was startling. El wasn’t wanting to fight– he really just wanted to get back… Wait… It finally hit him who this was. He’d been “convinced” peer pressured into fighting him with the other heroes after their first tournament. Wasn’t his highest moment, and he had… more or less tried to forget it.
El took a moment to recompose himself, and another to motion, palms facing the ground, for them to calm down. He didn’t want this to escalate any further.
“I don’t want anything,” he signed, slowing down his pace to try and seem less threatening. "There’s no one here but me.“
El wasn’t the only one who’d tried to forget that ambush. Major had just won his first tournament, after bursting into Thug Finals and being absolutely demolished beaten by Naomi he’d sworn he’d meet her in bracket, and while she hadn’t been the one to turn up he won against everyone he fought.
He won that tournament fair and square, after putting his name and reputation on the line he deserved it, more than anyone, and those heroes just couldn’t handle that they couldn’t beat him on their own, couldn’t beat him fairly. They’d waited until he was alone and sprung out of the shadows, all four of them at once. He didn’t stand a chance.
And he wasn’t going to let them try anything like that again, still holding out his sword, and pulling his chakram from his belt to fill his other hand. “Look, cut the bullshit, man! They’ve gotta be here somewhere. Let’s just get this over with, alright?” He continued searching, scanning every inch of the alley for signs of the other three. But he just couldn’t find them...
“Why else would you even be out here so late?” Maybe.. Maybe this wasn’t a trap. Maybe it was overly elaborate, sure that was a possibility, but sending one hero at a time? That didn’t seem efficient on their part...
