El wasn’t the only one who’d tried to forget that ambush. Major had just won his first tournament, after bursting into Thug Finals and being absolutely demolished beaten by Naomi he’d sworn he’d meet her in bracket, and while she hadn’t been the one to turn up he won against everyone he fought.
He won that tournament fair and square, after putting his name and reputation on the line he deserved it, more than anyone, and those heroes just couldn’t handle that they couldn’t beat him on their own, couldn’t beat him fairly. They’d waited until he was alone and sprung out of the shadows, all four of them at once. He didn’t stand a chance.
And he wasn’t going to let them try anything like that again, still holding out his sword, and pulling his chakram from his belt to fill his other hand. “Look, cut the bullshit, man! They’ve gotta be here somewhere. Let’s just get this over with, alright?” He continued searching, scanning every inch of the alley for signs of the other three. But he just couldn’t find them…
“Why else would you even be out here so late?” Maybe.. Maybe this wasn’t a trap. Maybe it was overly elaborate, sure that was a possibility, but sending one hero at a time? That didn’t seem efficient on their part…
He sighed, pointing his hand upward and releasing the Kafrizz he had on stand-by like a signal flare. “It’s only me,” he signed, “Promise.”
He reached around to grab the Sword of Light strapped to his back and placed it on the ground. Maybe disarming himself would get this person to be reasonable? He held his hands up once more before signing a reply.
“Lost track of time training. What about you?”
