"I'm coming home."
Your Muse Has Been Missing For X Amount Of Years. Send âIâm Coming Homeâ For My Museâs Reaction To Finding A Voicemail On Their Phone Of Yours Saying Just That
Nightwing stared down at the city from a roof top. He watched the car lights and people as he sighed, pulling out his phone. He noticed a red flashing light on his phone and opened it up. He placed the phone near his ear and listened to the voicemail. His masked eyes widened as he heard the beautiful, feminine voice.
"Iâm coming homeâŚ"
It said, the call ending after that. He stared off for a few seconds before putting the phone back into his pocket and jumping off of the roof, heading to the womanâs house.
"Iâm coming for you..SelenaâŚ"
The balcony doors were open when he arrived, Selina standing by the bed and unpacking her suitcase. She'd been in Rome, needing time away from Gotham to sort herself out. Rome having been the place where she had truly found herself, her center. Of course, then she had still had a long way to go before she would find her a truer path, but young and angry had been all she could have been then. Things were a bit different now.
Barefoot, dressed in simple sweat pants and a tank top, she turned, sensing the entrance of one of the few people she actually trusted. "It's good to see you, Dick. How have you been?"
"I took her from a drug lord who was starving her just so that she would be more willing to kill anyone who tried to come and take his drugs," Selina told him, her voice soft. The cat in her arms started purring as though sensing her mistressâ unhappy thoughts. Selina smiled as the catâs purrs got louder and louder. "Isis here was a stray I just couldnât leave behind."
After a very careful inspection of Kalâs fingers, Artemis at last took one step forward, rubbing her lips and cheek on the right side against his fingers. Smiling, Selina offered a soft, âShe likes you.â
He looked up at her, giving a soft, understanding smile, before turning back to the small panther.
"Most animals do, for some reason. Maybe itâs because Iâm less than human. And they relate to that."
"Mm," Selina hummed in thoughtful agreement and then smirked. "Or maybe they just sense that you're a total boy scout and realize they haven't got a thing to worry about."
Letting the cat in her arms hop down, Selina made her way back over to the coffee pot and reached up into the cabinets above, pulling down two mugs. "Do you take cream? Or sugar?"
"All the same," she murmured and slowed to a stop just inside the shadowed entrance to the club. Carefully extracting her hand from his, Selina pulled her gloves and reached up to pull her goggles and cowl from her head. Hanging the aviator style helmet and goggles from one arm by their straps and dropping her gloves inside the helmet, she reached up again and pulled the scarf holding her hair in place. It joined her gloves inside the cowl followed by the goggles to weigh everything down. A few expert tugs and waves of coal fell about her shoulders and face, allowing her to run her fingers through the wavy cascade of shiny black locks. Satisfied, Selina turned a bright smile on him. "Iâm glad things are going so well that youâve had the opportunity to renovate. At least one of us is putting out successful schemes."
Swaying in close again, Selina resumed her place on his arm and tipped her head toward the main floor. âShall we?â
Oswald stopped with her as she removed the most recognizable catwoman items. As she allowed her hair to fall, a smile crept over his features. âAh, it does a heart good to see such natural beauty.â he laughed under his breath.
"If only youâd stuck with me rather than the man disguised as a bat. You could have been just as successful, rather than shunned by your peers." he cocked an eyebrow, before nodding softly as she retook his arm, entering the lounge properly as the large doors were opened for them.Â
"Iâm not shunned, per se," she corrected him, eyes sliding about and taking in everything. "Itâs just that no one wants to include me unless Iâm really needed. And honestly, I donât play all that well with others anyway so itâs fine really."
As they approached, Oswaldâs usual table Selina turned her eyes back to him alone. âItâs better this way, only because I can play both sides, donât you think?â
"Oh my dear, you havenât heard? Youâre not as.. well respected as you used to be. Itâs as I said, you have spent far too much time with the bat to have any standing with the rogues of this city."Â
Oswald pulled out her chair for her, pushing it in as she sat down.Â
"That isnât a good thing, playing both sides doesnât gain you much respect."Â
"I suppose I see you're point," Selina sighed, but hummed thoughtfully after a moment. "Though really there are so few people in this business that I care if they respect me or not. Yourself included, of course."
She smiled as a waiter instantly brought them water and picked up the glass taking a long sip. "The tone in your voice," she murmured after a moment. "Says you might have an opinion...or perhaps a suggestion on what to do about the issue. Regardless of my personal preferences, staying in the respect of others is...useful."
Selina tipped her head a little, studying him thoughtfully.
Reblog if I can go on your page and write stupid things in your ask box whenever I'd like to.
Smirking, Catwoman rolled her eyes and playfully batted his cane away. âYou know youâre my go to man if I ever need a riddle solved. So why should I ever need to solve them for myself, Eddie, when I have access to a much higher intellect than my own? And youâŚwell, if you help me riddle it out, youâd get part of the take.â
{?Âż}âSelina grow up on the streets of gotham, of course she doesnât have proper education what was he expecting. "Thank you for your compliments but what happen to no honor among thieves? Pretty sure you lived up to that many times before, hell we all have. Why should I trust you now?â
"Mmmm," she purred the sound thoughtful. "You shouldn't."
Taking a calculated step closer, Selina folded her hands behind her back and tipped her head to the side. "But, I'll do my best not to do you too badly. I'm probably a helluva lot more fair than say...Two-face..."
Stray thread 2
Straightening, Selina turned in the direction he was pointing. âGood sense of direction,â she told him, her voice low. Between one heartbeat and the next they were moving. It took them very little time to find their way to Crime Alley. From there she followed his directions to the rooftop where he finally told her to stop. Selina glanced about them as she let him slip to the ground. She didnât care for Crime Alley, so it went without saying that she would be on full alert the entire time that they would be there.
"Iâll be right behind you," she told him, and gestured for him to lead them on from there.
"Gotta know my way around," Jason said, though there was a distinctly pleased smile on his face. He had a fairly good idea of how the streets were laid out, especially near his home. It was something heâd had to learn if he wanted to make a decent escape from some of the less friendly types that often hung around the area. His size made it a lot easier to run than to fight back.
Feet back on solid ground, he nodded. He did a quick check to make sure it was his building before he headed down the fire escape, careful to keep his footsteps soft. Counting the floors in his head he stopped at the third one down and then leaned back, mouth moving silently as he counted the windows. Finding his, he pulled a lock pick from his pocket and waved for Selina to come closer. âJusâ need a sec,â he mumbled, brow furrowed in focus as he worked to get the lock open. There wasnât actually a key for it, or if there was, he didnât have it. Still, he always locked up before leaving.
Crouching next to him, Selina watched him work a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. He was already pretty talented and obviously appropriately cautious. That caution was going to save his life more times that he could even begin to understand at this point. Satisfied that he almost had the lock open, Selina rose to her full height again and glanced about them, ever alert for danger.
"Hold on tight and lean with me as we go," she told him with a note of glee in her voice, before gunning up the engine. She wasnât going to go easy on him, just because it was his first time. Leaning forward, she throttled it up and they were off like a shot.
Selina took the long way back to her hotel, choosing to joyride a little just so that he could fully enjoy the experience of riding a bike for the first time. She personally thought there was something amazing about hugging close to the thrumming machine beneath her and whipping by the scenery and zigging and zagging around slower drivers. She only slowed down once they neared the parking lot for her hotel. Once the bike was parked, off and locked, she pulled her cowl and glanced over her shoulder. âHave fun?â
Holey Moley- This was awesome! As soon as he was old enough to drive he was totally getting one of these. Even if he had to save up every paycheck from now until he was 18! He wore the same manic grin he did when doing stupid stunts while flying when he responded to her question.
"Hecks yeah!" Call him an adrenaline addict, but thatâd been one of the coolest experiences of his life!
Selina laughed unable to help the full body chuckle over his excitement. "I'm glad you had fun."
Reaching over she expertly pulled his helmet and then ruffled his hair with her free hand. "Now, let's go get to that room service and some movies. What are you in the mood for for dinner?"
The helmet went into the storage under the bitch pad again and the cowl she let dangle from her arm as she looped an arm over his shoulders so she could start steering him towards the hotel.
"Don't struggle! ....I'm trying to help you!"
((oh my gosh hello! *swoons* Itâs Selina Kyle!!))

âââââââââââââ-
Bart had never seen someone so adamant about refusing to receive medical attention in their lives.
Heâd been visiting Robin in Gotham and was on his way out (planning to cut across the harbor) when he noticed a scuffle on the docks. He could hear shouting, a few gunshots, and he could see long shadows flickering out over the water. What he saw next may have possibly been one of the coolest things heâd ever had the privilege to witness. His eyes adjusted to the dim moonlight and he could see a whip, goggles, and the trademark cat-eared mask of Catwoman herself! And she was going toe-to-toe with Scarecrow! A dozen thugs already littered the water-slick boards underneath their feet and Bart had no doubts about who had put them there. He watched, mesmerized as she flipped and wove around the villain. The only other person heâd ever seen who moved like that was Nightwing! Then, everything suddenly went downhill as she landed strangely on the slippery dock, her foot sliding out from under her at an unnatural angle and forcing her to the floor. Scarecrow was not about to waste the opportunity and he used the falter to spray her with a face-full of fear-gas as she was returning to her feet. It must have been a direct hit because she coughed and fell again to her knees, wheezing. Thatâs when Bart leapt into action, scolding himself for standing around like an idiot tourist! Everything moved in slow motion around him as he passed over the fallen thugs, grabbing a taser from one of their limp hands. Without warning, Bart swept up behind the cackling drug-lord and slammed the prongs of the taser into his back. He shrieked in pain and fell to the ground where he twitched a couple of times and then stopped moving, most likely out cold. However, Bart didnât stop to check. Instead, he waved his hands rapidly, creating a small whirlwind to blow away the remnants of the gas. âCatwoman?â He asked, worriedly kneeling beside her. âCatwoman? Are you alright? Doyouneedhelp?â He must have startled her, because she hissed and made a swipe at his face with her clawed gloves. âWait!â Bart exclaimed, dodging her attack and grabbing both of her hands. âDonât struggle! Iâm trying to help you!â He tried to explain to her. Jeeze, she was strong! He could barely hold her arms. âI guess Iâll have to wait to ask for an autograph.â He muttered to himself.
"Good job," she murmured in an absent voice as she took the rope from him and started expertly tying Scarecrowâs wrists together then his ankles and lastly secured both to his waist. Finally standing, Catwoman surveyed her handiwork. "Ok," she said at last and glanced over to the teen hero beside her. "So⌠Thank you again. I appreciate the save."
Bart whistled in appreciation at her skill with the rope. âNo problem! Anytime!â He grinned, blushing a little at her praise. âUh, do you need any help getting him to the cops? I mean, I could run him there pretty fast. Only if you wanted, though! Itâs your call.â He stopped himself before he could put his foot in his mouth any further. He couldnât wait to brag to Robin about all this.Â
Like any intelligent feline, Catwoman wasn't one to turn down letting someone else do the hard work for her. Smiling a little, she tipped her head, asking sweetly, "Would you? It would save me a lot of trouble."
She'd always liked the Flash Family. They were always so eager to be doing something that they often took care of the hard work just so that they could be busy. Which, really, was very convenient in this case.
With a few last motions, Selina set the coffee pot to brew. âReally?â She turned to face him and leaned back against the counter. âYou like animals that much?â Shaking her head, she straightened and stepped toward him. âIâm going to go change and Iâll bring the girls out with me. Theyâre in the bedroom Iâm sure.â She patted his shoulder on the way by adding, âIâll only be a moment. Make yourself at home.â True to her word she emerged moments later with a jet black short haired cat in her arms. At her knee ambled a panther black as the night. âThis is Isis,â she announced planting a kiss on the smaller catâs cheek. The large cat she stroked a hand over the soft fur on the crown of the catâs head. âAnd this is Artemis.â
His eyes lit up at the sight of a small panther, and he was across the room in a second, hesitantly holding out a hand to let the small wildcat get used to his scent.
"Artmemis, huh?" he said, a soft smile on his lips. "A hunter and moon goddess. Sheâs beautiful."
"I took her from a drug lord who was starving her just so that she would be more willing to kill anyone who tried to come and take his drugs," Selina told him, her voice soft. The cat in her arms started purring as though sensing her mistress' unhappy thoughts. Selina smiled as the cat's purrs got louder and louder. "Isis here was a stray I just couldn't leave behind."
After a very careful inspection of Kal's fingers, Artemis at last took one step forward, rubbing her lips and cheek on the right side against his fingers. Smiling, Selina offered a soft, "She likes you."
Oh my god I hate being sick. I hid under my blankets and slept. When I wasn't working. Sorry to vanish on everyone like that but I was functioning in a fugue of meds and was struggling to make it through my work day. Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! I'm back and working on drafts now. Please don't hate me *wince*
Stray thread 2
Tightening the hug just a little bit before releasing him, Selina stood up and nodded with a soft smile for him. âGood. Now, you direct me and Iâll make the hops okay?â
It would be faster for her to carry him. Now, if she saw a narrower alleyway, she ask him if he wanted to try the jump himself and for that reason (among the usual) she had wound her whip about her waist. Slowly she turned and crouched, offering him her back.
"Alright." Jason scrambled onto her back without hesitation, looping his arms around her shoulders. He glanced around, brow furrowing in concentration as he tried to get an idea of just where they were. The area was familiar, though it was a bit different seeing things from the rooftops than the streets.
"You uh⌠you know where Crime Alley is, right? Thatâs where my place is. So⌠I think itâs that way," he said, pointing.
Straightening, Selina turned in the direction he was pointing. "Good sense of direction," she told him, her voice low. Between one heartbeat and the next they were moving. "I'll be right behind you," she told him, and gestured for him to lead them on from there.
Kicking her heels into a corner, Selina stepped up to him taking his coat. âIâll hang this in the coat closet or Isis might claim it.â
Once the coat was tucked away she moved into the kitchen. âYou can sit in here at the table if youâd like.â
It felt almost unnatural to walk on tile floor, as he was just so used to floating lazily across places, but he walked to the table, looking around curiously, trying to spot the cats.
"Everyone makes fun of me for this, but I love animals. A lot. I have a reputation for actually saving cats out of trees and coming home to my apartment with a few stray animals and taking care of them before letting them go free again. I have a pet-door put in just for cats and dogs who need food, they can come in anytime and go anytime.â
With a few last motions, Selina set the coffee pot to brew. "Really?" She turned to face him and leaned back against the counter. "You like animals that much?" The large cat she stroked a hand over the soft fur on the crown of the cat's head. "And this is Artemis."
"Good," she murmured and reached forward to catch his hand, pulling him closer. "Iâm the window two down from this one."
Kissing his cheek simply because she could and it was a rare evening that Selina wasnât feeling playful, she turned and started down the stairs. At her...

Once the coat was tucked away she moved into the kitchen. "You can sit in here at the table if you'd like."
Once on the first landing of the fire escape, Selina turned to him and extended a hand. âIâm honored,â she told him with a warm, heartfelt smile. âMore than I have words to say.â
Flexing her fingers in a motion that could only mean come here, Selina waited. The feeling of eyes on her from the window of the neighbor above the Espinozas was unsettling but she ignored her nosy almost-neighbor and kept her eyes firmly on Kal. Let the rumor mill spin. She couldnât care less really.
He floated over, sparing a single glance at the apartments above, then shrugged and stood on empty air by her.
"I trust you."
"Good," she murmured and reached forward to catch his hand, pulling him closer. "I'm the window two down from this one."
Kissing his cheek simply because she could and it was a rare evening that Selina wasn't feeling playful, she turned and started down the stairs. At her window she pulled it up and turned to smile as he sank into view. "Come on in and I'll put the pot on."
That said, she slipped through the window into her living room.
"Iâm not shunned, per se," she corrected him, eyes sliding about and taking in everything. "Itâs just that no one wants to include me unless Iâm really needed. And honestly, I donât play all that well with others anyway so itâs fine really."

"That isnât a good thing, playing both sides doesnât gain you much respect."Â
"Respect," Selina repeated. Then she shook her head. "I only desire the respect of a few select people. Yourself, of course, among them. And, to be honest, that list grows shorter by the day it seems sometimes."
"You have this look to you," she told him and reached out to take one of his hands in hers, leading him to the edge and the ladder that would take them down to the first landing of the fire escape. Grasping the curled railing that always reminded her of a poolâs ladder, Selina glanced down. She was pleased to find that the coast was clear of would-be delinquents and released his hand so that she could step up onto the short wall around the room and then spin to face him again, balanced on the balls of her feet. "It makes me wonder what you have to do to yourself to hide who you are when youâreâŚI donât know, living out the more normal part of your life."
With that said, she took a step back and started down the ladder.
He shrugged, keeping pace with her climbing as he floated down with her.
"Itâs not too hard, just change a bit of my appearance, change my personality, and people donât notice a thing. Youâre lucky, actually. Most people donât even know I have a normal part of my life.â
He gave a tiny smile. âAs far as the public knows, Iâm an alien who lives in the Fortress of Solitude and the JLAâs headquarters, who just makes appearances in public. Most people donât know thereâs more to Superman than Superman. â
Once on the first landing of the fire escape, Selina turned to him and extended a hand. "I'm honored," she told him with a warm, heartfelt smile. "More than I have words to say."
