Irene lingers in her doorway, her left hand curled tight against her chest. Her voice is soft, almost pained as she looks to her twin.
“Eri…I…” How does she explain how unsettled she feels? This weight in her chest that makes her feel like she’s about to sink through the door? She closes her eyes for a moment and lets out a breath before managing an uneasy smile. “My hand hurts something special tonight…and my finger is stiff. I could use your strong hands.”
“Please? I brought chocolate as well”
Her scars haven't truly burned like this in a while, like being pin-pricked by countless needles, & neither standing still or moving eased the feeling. Erika couldn't understand why for the life of her, there's normally a source for when this feeling returns, but here, she couldn't come up with anything.
But, her attention is removed from herself hearing her name from an all too familiar voice, arms that were pervious crossed over her chest, hands gripping at her arm, broke free of their hold as moss green eyes landed onto Irene.
She could see the struggle in her twin's face. How she wanted to say something, but couldn't figure out how to, or lacked or proper courge to say so.
Either or, it didn't matter, & no longer did the ache in Erika's skin. Irene was in some level of discomfort & distress, & all that mattered from then on, was ease her troubles.
"Come here." The woman's arms opened in offering, she had been sitting at the edge of her bed, & now the space was open to her twin, as was her arms.
Her arms, her strength & her love would always be with her family, her sister, & Irene could always call on Erika to help her, no matter what the woman's own state was. This she promised long ago, & still ever does she intent to keep it.
