It wasn't something Murdoch was ready to do, or even wanted in the grand scheme of things. It defiantly wasn't something he wanted to do with someone he barely knew. Still, despite these feelings, Murdoch had stood in front of his advisor, with a woman named Irene, slipped a ring onto her finger, and managed to give her an incredibly weak kiss.
Despite the smile that didn't quite reach his eyes, and the warm words he managed to say to this stranger he was married too, it would be clear, that Murdoch didn't truly want this.
Yet, it was apart of his job as the king of the Unwelcoming Isles. They were in a grand tower in the center of a small cluster of islands in the middle of a cold and snowy ocean, hundreds of miles away from the mainland. Murdoch Nightingale was required to have at least one wife, he was the last in his line, and he had to bare children for it's continuation. That still might not be possible, but at the very least, when Murdoch passed, the Unwelcoming Isles could be absorbed by the Kingdom of Bellows, so that the people here could still be cared for.
Murdoch was a half-drow, with light purple skin, white hair, blue eyes, with a small mole under his right eye. Physically, he wasn't anything impressive. He didn't seem very strong, and he was only about 5'6 in height. But despite his eyes looking dead to the world, there was intelligence behind them.
Right now, he was walking Irene through the tower, showing her different spots for if she needed anything. For a moment, he wondered if she would even come close to filling the hole his foster sister and uncle left behind... And if not, he wondered if her army could track down the Priestess that killed them.
He was walking up a set of stairs, deciding to finally say something to his new wife. "My resources are being sent to your kingdom as we speak." He clammed back up again, before reaching a set of gilded double doors. Glowing green crystals, embedded into the frame. He looked unwell, but knocked on the door, "and where you'll be... Sleeping, while in my-" a pause, he needed to readjust his vocabulary. "Our kingdom."
