so like, i have a really shitty ex boyfriend. when we were dating, he was an addict.

i knew that in recent months he was finally getting help. him, his mom and his brother had come forward telling me this, he had even owned up to shit that he didn’t before, apologizing for everything he had done to me. i didn’t hate him, i still had a lot of love for him, he was the first guy i had ever dated but it was toxic, it wasn’t a relationship either of us needed.

this morning i was texted by his brother ; ‘ hey. i know we haven’t talked in a while and i know you haven’t talked to him but last night he overdosed, no one was home so he couldn’t be saved in time. mom understands if you don’t wanna come to the funeral in the next couple days but she’d like to see you and so would dad, it’s up to you. ‘ 

and like i’m not distraught about this whole thing simply because of who he was when we dated but i do feel bad and i do feel some sadness over it. i don’t plan to go to this funeral just for the sake of my mental health and my sanity. i might not be around much. i’ll be working on the new blog but if it gets done today, i don’t really know how much writing will get done on it.
