Cherry! Be proud of me!
“Oh—Sorry about that teach.” His hand raising, as if he were to be giving an apology for his little sudden barging in unannounced. Like usual.
Taking a look around, he saw the kids huddling around her—there was a book in her hand.. Story time? That would make sense of what it was. He did after all manage to hear some of the words she had said before barging in with his usual loud self. Waving at the kids both a hello and sorry for showing up like this. By the looks of it, they were rather used to him showing up like this. Most likely not a good thing to be used to.
“No please, don’t mind me. Continue.” It was not as a joke of course, he did always enjoy when the dark haired girl would read them stories as kids.
Flopping in one of the seats in the back, he waved to her, telling her to just go on and carry on with the story. Even though he knew there was a high chance that she would kick him out.
He was excited. That was true. He managed to get a small job that would at the very least help with the essentials at her house—after all.. she did let him mooch off of her without any warning that he would just go on and settle in to her home.
"Tyrone," Ciara used her teacher voice, "I believe I have already informed you about this. Are you aware that it is not appropriate for you to be here?" Her embarrassment faded into anger.
Of all the things that she was not prepared for, was Kane returning all of a sudden. A guy leaves for two years and expects to return like nothing had happened... He had never been so wrong before. Too much had happened for her to be used to him. Even though he now lived with her, Ciara still expected for him to be gone the next morning.Â
A sigh escaped her and she made the motion as if she were to adjust her glasses. Of course, there were no glasses that she wore. Some habits are hard to break.Â
"... How many times do I have to tell you? That's it, young man, you have detention. Make sure you stay after-school." She was sure he would, since they did have to talk about how he got a job. Right now wasn't the best time to make a fuss.Â
Ciara faced her classed and smiled, "Sorry about that, class." Finding her placed, she took a deep breath and prepared herself. And so she continued telling the nursery rhyme.Â
â– Time to Relax || Ciara and Kane
Getting an invitation from the girl to go off and back to Kanto was not so much a thing on his list to do so soon. But the little reminder that there was a chance that he would be able to re-challenge the older woman was the main thing that set him in motion when it came to it. Plus, she mentioned some sort of fancy place, the thing that sounded neat about it was that there would be a lot of time for R&R. Which.. He felt the other needed the most of.
The sight of the cabin was one thing. It was a whole lot bigger than he thought it would be and had an impression that would last quite a long time. It was nicely tucked away on the mountain and it just looked like it would be a whole lot cozy once inside.
Hearing his childhood friend rush him to get inside, he strutted on over to her to take in the view. “Daaaaaang, you scored pretty well on those tickets.” It really was impressive to his little standards. “Come on Cherry. Let’s have a look around.”
It was refreshing to be on vacation, away from all the things that wore her down. Except for one person, but Kane would probably be off elsewhere. The thought occurred to her that it was completely one-sided, which only added to her hatred. What also made her upset was that she would never truly, completely hate her childhood friend. Letting him come to the cabin as a companion proved it.Â
Ciara was actually quite happy that she went ahead to take a vacation with her friend. A lot of things had been on her mind, so this trip would definitely help. Even now, there were times where she forgot to check her health and take care of herself.Â
"Hm? Alright, Kane. Just hold on." Ciara faced away and set down her bag. A smile had crept onto her face. This feeling was similar to old times, though there was also a feeling of missing something. Showing no expression, she faced the other and nodded. "I'm ready now."Â
â– Time to Relax || Ciara and Kane
About a week ago, mail for a free vacation for two came in for Ciara. At first, the teacher was very confused since she had no recollection of signing up for a free vacation. Not just for one, but for two people. Now, she wasn't in any type of relationship with anyone so just who would she bring?Â
At that moment, Kane appeared and she just knew that there was no way out of this mess. A break was definitely needed after all she had been through since Kane returned. And so here they were, at some cabin on Mt. Silver.
"... Here we are, Kane." Glancing back at her childhood friend, Ciara opened the door with her free hand. In her other hand, she held onto her bag full of stuff they needed. Just in case, she brought extra supplies if Kane forgot something.
Upon entering, the teacher examined the place. "Not bad, if I do say so myself." That wasn't exactly directed at the other, since she was still pretty upset over what had happened. "Come on in, Kane. You'll get a cold if you stay out there."Â

Cherry! Be proud of me!
After hunting down for a job that he promised his childhood friend he would get, he returned to her home with some great news.
Though, delivering the news would be longer than he imagined it would take, especially since he was unable to locate her at home. It was possible that she was over at the school where she worked at.
Rushing his way back into the town, he ran his way over to the school— where he would sometimes sneak in to just watch her teach and possibly play with the kids who found him to be amusing. Bursting into the room, he was able to locate the girl. Without really paying attention of who might be around, he just went on to shout his good news.
"HEY CHERRY I GOT THE JOB!"
As an educator, there were many things that came along with it. Many times she got mad, frustrated and even a little depressed over somethings.Â
Nothing could have prepared her for that went on in her classroom, and she never would have thought she would truly care about her students. Ciara worked hard to teach them and so her students also worked hard. There were times when they needed breaks. Today was one of those days.Â
Children of ages 5 through preteen attended her classes. It was quite strange honestly, all of them being in one classroom. Ciara was quick to teach them about getting along, by now there were no problems. The preteens had nothing against doing childish things, like they were doing currently.Â
All of the desks were pushed back, and there was a huge circle in the center of the room. Ciara sat on a chair while her students sat on the floor, focusing on what she said. Normally, they did this outside but the weather wasn't very pleasant today. The students were fine with sitting on the floor, and it's not like there were many of them in the first place.Â
"... The Miltank jumped over the moon--" Ciara was interrupted by the door slamming open. Her face redden when she heard her childhood friend shouting about how he got a job. In any other case, she would have been delighted, but not now. The students stared at Kane, knowing who he was for it wasn't the first time that they'd seen him. Their interest in him faded after his third visit.Â
"Tyrone, now is not the time for this." She spoke in a serious tone, though there was some embarrassment lingering.Â
Maybe.. Didn’t you promise that we’d always live together as kids?
... No.Â
She then turned around and walked away, questioning her kid-self for promising that.
I will!! I promise!! Just don’t kick me out yet!
... Not yet, but soon. It's not like you can live with me forever, right?Â
I know.. I’ll tell her eventually. Fiiine. I’ll be good. Besides, I can probably find something to do outside of my training. Know any place that might need a strong arm?
I'll ask around later. Once you find a job, you better stick to it or else.Â
C-C-CHERRY NO DON’T! I’ll get a job and help around with the chores! Don’t tell my mom. She’ll know I failed if I am back so early.
You know you're going to have to tell her eventually, right? It isn't her fault that you failed, so... Fine, I won't as long as you stop being a useless couch potato.
I do. Mum’s great and all… But she is still kinda helicopters around. Uhhh.. About that.. Probably not.. Which is why I am kinda avoiding her.
Are you serious...? That's it, I am calling your mother. You are a bad son for not informing her about your whereabouts.
Cherry!! Don’t be so mean. You know I wont survive out there— especially at my mother’s.
I know, I know. ... I thought you liked your mother, did you two fight? Does she even know you are back?Â
I know. I just expected to have some breathing space between here and then.
As if-- Move out if it bothers so much, since you can always just move in with your mom.Â
But Cherryyyyyy, we’ve been friends forever.
And? That doesn't mean you can live with me for free.
Your words are as mean as ever, Cherry.
There's no reason for me to be nice to you.Â
Cherry..!! That’s too mean. Don’t kick me out.
Then stop being so useless and get a job, alright?Â
… You wouldn’t do that.. Would you?
Would I? Tell me, Kane.
