It would have been rude to turn his father away-- Jasper had no reason to turn his father away. But the suddenness of it surprised him. Or...concerned him, perhaps. Why was it that such a casual suggestion still seemed so formal?

Funny, wasn't it, that his mother often told him that he should be more expressive. It was fitting, in a way, that Mycroft thought he should be less. "The semester is nearly done, and many of them plan on leaving the moment they can. We'll be separated soon enough." 

Wasn't that what was important? It wasn't as though they distracted Jasper from his studies. Much.

Jasper was not known for his first aid skills— or his reassuring nature, or even his quick-thinking in times of medical emergencies. But he knew enough that when a person asks for help to at the very least try. 

His hands was reassuring on the older woman’s shoulder  and mid-back, and all attention was immediately off the phone pressed into her jacket. Whatever insistence that might not have shown through in his facial expression definitely showed in his tone.

"Are you alright? Do you need help sitting? Should I— call…?"

"Oh they are all to happy to send the weirdo’s down to me." Molly laughed, "I have a detective called Sherlock Holmes who likes to spend his time down here, so they just assume that people are one of his lot." She said and finally moved away from him.

"Your uncle… it’s only really ever me down here… Are you sure they might be here… I mean the only people down here are me and Sherlock and he just ran off… You’re not Sherlock’s nephew are you…" She looked at the man in front of her. "Oh… Wow… You are." She said looking over the young man’s features seeing Mycroft.

Jasper didn’t laugh along, because he didn’t think it was funny. Maybe it was just him and his lack of humor— if Molly wasn’t upset with the thought, with strangers being sent to her place of work, than neither should he be. Or so he assumed.

Jasper gave her a sort of half-shrug, and tried very hard not to look around the morgue. There were no bodies, none that he could see at least. But he knew that dissections happened, and Jasper's quite vivid imagination did not need those images stuck in his head all evening. "Yes. Sherlock Holmes. My uncle. I should have said right away." Yes. Very personable, wasn't he? Jasper smoothed out his jacket front, unsure how to present himself with someone so...familiar? With his uncle? Someone who was certainly more familiar with the man than he himself was. "'Ran off'. I apologize for taking your time, in the case."
