i remember a few months back when i saw a comment that really made me appreciate something about p3r.
i’m so glad shinjiro got the social link that he did. because the other versions on p3 kind of brushed over the past of sees and also shinjiro’s relationship with mitsuru…….which brings me to my topic.
i saw someone point out that during july (if i’m remembering correctly), when yukari was doing her confrontation, and accusing mitsuru of just using everyone that it must’ve hurt mitsuru more deeply than it seemed. not only because her intentions were never to just use everyone, but also because of the past, because considering how sees was before, and the october 4th incident, it’s very likely, if not a fact, that mitsuru made herself feel as though she was entirely responsible for what happened. she even says it herself, that she thinks that if she hadn’t dragged both shinjiro and akihiko into sees and the mess with the shadows, than everything would’ve been fine. obviously, neither of them blame her for what occurred, but i just like how that detail was added in.
it made it even more obvious that, yes, shinjiro leaving sees did impact mitsuru quite deeply, and the guilt clearly stayed stuck deep inside her. i feel like that’s also why before he came back, mitsuru isnt shown going out her way to find him in person like akihiko did. not because she didn’t care about what shinjiro did, but because of the fact she thought she had no right to ask him to come back due to being feeling ashamed and guilty of how her own actions caused him to become more troubled (not that she literally caused it i just had to phrase it that way. nobody was at fault for what happened, obviously. we all know that.)
