me: you’ve already used this exact turn of phrase two paragraphs ago, that’s too repetitive
me, an intellectual: if I use it three more times it becomes a motif
“I need to change, I need to love myself, I need to find out what I deserve. Because at this very moment when I look into the mirror, I see someone that I don’t know staring back at me and I want to know her…I need to know her.”
— p.s.w // excerpt from a book i’ll never write #192 //
I’m still not sure that people can change. I’ve done some shitty things in the past that I decided I’m not going to do anymore, but I’m still essentially the same person, and I know deep down that I’m still capable of doing those things. “Changing” is an active choice- it’s just deciding that you’re going to behave in a different way than you used to- but it doesn’t take back the bad things you’ve done before or negate those characteristics you have lying within you that you’re deciding to suppress. So just don’t forget that. Once you do something bad, like cheating, you can decide to never do it again, but you’re always going to be someone who was at one point capable of doing it. Once you do it, it’s a part of you, even if you never do it again. And that’s an opinion and you can feel differently about it, but there’s a difference between someone who’s never been able to cheat because they just didn’t have it in them to act so horribly, their moral compass just physically wouldn’t let them, and someone who possesses the ability to.
“I poured my heart into everything I loved and I poured the entire heart into everyone I love, now they sit in-front of me with my heart in their hand asking me why I am so empty.”
— p.s.w // excerpt from a book i’ll never write #153
I want everything about you to be erased from my life. I want literally nothing to do with you. I never want to see your face, hear your voice, or even think about you again. I want it to be like I never wasted almost a year on you. So stay. Out. Of. My. Life.
I plan on becoming the girl of my own dreams
Mark Daniel - Kolmanskop, 2008
“She practices being herself every day. Having to shed the layers of other identities took time. She even lost friendships. She couldn’t fill their egos anymore. When you focus on yourself, and love yourself, some relationships have to go.”
— Adrian Michael
“It’s not only your heart that breaks, sometimes if the pain is to much, your brain breaks to.”
— p.s.w // excerpt from a book i’ll never write #129
“I have learned that when sadness comes to visit me, all I can do is say “I see you.” I spend some time with it, get up, and say goodbye. I don’t push it away. I own it. And because I own it, I let it go.”
— Carolina Zacaria
