There are quite a few direct quotes from the modules here, but most of them have been altered in some way; mostly through context, and elaboration. I tried to put in enough details so VN-only fans shouldn’t feel lost, but this is taking place in the Chapter 2 module for Neverwinter Nights.

I smile, embracing the mischief he inspires. "Is that jealousy I hear?"

"Of your witchling? Hardly."

"She's a pleasant sleeping partner. Always so soft and sweet beside me," I tease, and he stalks around behind me, out of view.

"Do her arms bring you comfort?"

I nod.

He leans down over my shoulder and whispers against my neck. "I will devour you. We will glut ourselves on such exquisite pleasures you will forget the touch of everyone but me."

His arms wrap around me and the heavy ozone of magic fills the air. In a burst of infernal flames, the room melts away around me, and the world falls out from beneath my feet.

What I expected from Demonheart:

shitty visual novel romance, with demons

What I got:

- the choice between unredeemable assholes (but you’re gonna try anyway) and a lesbian witch

- Mark’s face is just wrong (the art style is…uhh)

- moments that shouldn’t be as hilarious as they were

- torture? gore? deaths??

- a pretty useless protagonist (which is a shame, it wouldn’t have taken much to make her cool. I mean she was apprentice to a witch, yet learned nothing from her? At least ONE spell, woman!)

- ultimately, a pretty good few hours of entertainment (the final chapter is still unreleased though which is a bummer)

(also I’d love to see a Let’s Play of Demonheart just to see people’s reactions to some of the lines in this game. Some truly iconic moments in there.)
