I wanted to ask more questions, I wanted answers. Realization struck that I didnât need to know. I didnât want to. Knowing why people do the things they do, wouldnât change the fact that they already did them.

Patsy Gibbons takes his two rescue foxes, Grainne and Minnie, for a walk in Kilkenny, Ireland. Gibbons nursed the foxes back to health after they were found abandoned as injured cubs, and they have stayed with him since.

There is no warmth in February sunshine. (But plenty of light.)

Learn to let the little things go. Learn to forgive the small mistakes that others makes. Yes, your best friend snapped at you but maybe she had a bad day. Maybe sheâs under a lot of stress and she feels like sheâs drowning. Sure, your boyfriend was cold but maybe heâs got a lot on his mind. Maybe heâs trying to figure things out and heâs feeling a little lost. Okay, your sister was rude but maybe sheâs just tired. Maybe she didnât get enough sleep last night because she was tossing and turning, crippled with anxiety. What Iâm trying to say is, cut people some slack. Weâre allowed to have bad days. Nobody is perfect. Leave people room to mess up every once in a while.

Forgive and let go.
Rule 1: Stop giving yourself to others in gallons and leaving yourself aching, thirsty. Love yourself more. You are worth drowning for.

We find, sometimesâoftenâto our surprise, the depths at which we were formed by others. Thereâs little logic to the architecture of our souls; we like to think blood matters, and time, but sometimes a glance or a touch, a half smile on a movie screen, a cover song, a piece of lightning bolt makeup, a Christmas card, an afternoonâs conversation, a book read once in childhood, can be a pillar on which the roof of us depends.
