[ I really love writing as them, so hereās a small starter call for the classic lawyer duo: Phoenix and Edgeworth! ]
SendĀ āšā For A Thought My Muse Had of Yours!
winterfurst:
ā¦Why was he staring at his smart phone? Oh God. Was this guy one of THOSE guys? The kind that had no clue what a smart phone even was? Even his father had a smart phone. Satoshi sighed, shaking his head a bit.Ā
āItās fine,ā he murmured, pocketing his phone.Ā āIt happens. i know itās pretty shocking.ā
Wait⦠Did this guy just call himā¦? Oh he did. Oh, he really did. This guy just called himĀ āEdgeworth Jr.ā. Satoshi didnāt mind nicknames. He had a lot of them. But that was one he would never let stand. Ever. Not in the history of ever.Ā
āMr. Wright, donāt call me Edgeworth Jr. Satoshi is just fine. Calling me Edgeworth Jr. just makes me sound like Iām a mini Miles Edgeworth. That, I am not.ā
āWell, youāve got me there! It wouldnāt be fair to judge you just based on your dad, huh?ā
Phoenix tried to present a hearty grin despite how badly drained the long string of revelations had left him. It was astonishing enough to learn that Edgeworth had a teenage son, and it was even more shocking to observe the inevitable similarities between the two. He even had his fatherās more condescending quirks -- to some extent, anyway.Ā
āI can live with calling you Satoshi. Youāre the first one of your kind Iāve met, actually! Satoshiās not exactly a common name around here -- so, itās foreign, right?ā
(Iām almost surprised Edgeworth went with that and not something ... simpler. He couldāve gone the wholeĀ āMiles Jrā route. OrĀ āNilesā if he wanted something somewhat similar to his name. Iām not saying THAT aloud, though! No sirree!)

Datz wheeled around, realizing heād come to a dead end. Darn it.Ā Sneaking into the palace garden was a poor decision for several reasons, the first being that he was not expecting to be cornered by the high priestess herself. He reached into his pockets and tossed a handful of pellets at the ground between them.
āDRAGON SNOT SNAPS! HYAH!ā
ā¦And nothing. Duds. He was cornered.
He coughed a little.Ā āSo, uh, Your Benevolence! What brings you here? Haha!ā
āWhat brings me here? What sort of asinine query is that!?ā
There was no mistaking the indignation in her tone. Rayfa had little patience to spare for this idiotic man and his moronic pranks. She crossed her arms, glaring daggers right at him. While he was part of the noble group her father --- her real father -- had founded, she wasnāt inclined to cut him any slack.Ā
āI was giving chase to the nincompoopĀ who dared disrupt the peace of this sacred garden! Now, I shall launch your question back at you, where it rightfully belongs! What daft idea brought you here!?ā
@bladedfears II Starter Call
āI heard you got tangled up in your fair share of adventures, Edgeworth.ā
āGotta say, thatās pretty admirable of you to come running the second I called. Youāve got to be exhausted from all that, and yet here you are ... here, to see me like this. Iām almost sorry Iām emptyhanded, but thatās sort of the point. My badge ... well, see for yourself. Itās long gone.ā
winterfurst:
A joke? He really, really thought this was a joke? Satoshiās frown deepend, if that was even possible. Good God. Well, Mr. Wright was a lawyer. Which meant that he needed proof. Proof was everything, as they said. Digging into his back pocket, Satoshi retrieved his smart phone.Ā
āI assure you, Mr. Wright, this is not a joke.ā
Quickly swiping through his apps, Satoshi let out a softĀ āah-haā when he came upon his Instagram app. Opening it, he found his motherās Instagram and began to scroll and scrollā¦And scroll through all her pictures. Good God. How many pictures did she have? Finally coming upon one from his graduation, he then showed it to Phoenix.Ā
āSee? This is us at my high school graduation over a year ago. Father is on the left. Mother is on the right. And Iām in the middle⦠And my friend Oliver is photobombing in the back. I assure you, this is not a joke. Would you like my birth certificate as well?ā
(A smartphone, huh? Iām pretty sure thatās what it is, anyways. You canāt count on me to be too familiar with these things.)
(I still have that cheap phone that kids these days call a thing of the past. Long story short, mine doesnāt do pictures. Itās actually sort of cool that this guyās phone can, though. Letās see what he has on ...)
(Oh, OF COURSE he has a picture with his parents! Thatās just ... grand. Yep, thatās Edgeworth alright. Iād recognize his cravat and condescending smirk from miles away ...)
āNo, um ... thatās okay. I believe you now. I know your dad, and he wouldnāt pose in a picture just to prank me. I guess, uh, sorry about this whole mix-up? You really did catch me off guard there. I guess I can call you Edgeworth Jr. now, huh?ā
ā Who are you really? ā for Dhurke?
Meme II Accepting!
āHereās a counteroffer: do you want the short or long version of it?ā
āIāve got all day, but Iād wager that you donāt. I can tell from your eyes that youāre a wanted man. Well, that and the ugly posters, too.ā
āGuess I can say welcome to the club! Fellow fugitive Dhurke Sahdmadhi, at your service!ā
[ I really love writing as them, so hereās a small starter call for the classic lawyer duo: Phoenix and Edgeworth! ]
lapiscorde:
āThat would be the case, if it is not the horrid truth behind this.ā
āYou being locked here has meant you do not know the whole truth. That case, despite your motives, has caused a problem - a major one. Now people look at us as a corrupted force. I know, my old mentor did those exact things, and I loathe him every single time for it, however, I cannot let this resurface. I need your assistance, Blackquill⦠please.ā
Despite his undeniably bleak situation, Blackquill finds himself laughing heartily. Ah, what irony it was! The protege of a disgraced mentor sought him, a convict, for help in reversing the tide? That deserved a laugh in honor.Ā
āYou would beg with such an asinine plea? What can one man do against the tide of the massesā opinion?ā
āHeh! Your begging would be better spent on an earnest fool. Or ... it would be.ā
His grin is obnoxiously and deliberately smug.
āThe adage states that beggars cannot be choosers, Wright-dono. Very well. Iāll aid you in exchange for some modicum of freedom. Iāve naught better to do.ā
winterfurst:
Did this bozo just call himĀ ākidā? Satoshi narrowed his eyes for a very long moment as he stared at Phoenix. And he stared. And he stared some more. He groaned, putting his hands on his hips.Ā
āI did let myself in but Iām also allowed to be in here. I was waiting for him, as well.ā
He then grimaced, coming to theĀ ākidā part again. He didnāt want to address it. And, frankly, it might send the guy into another tailspin but oh well.Ā
āIām eighteen, Mr. Wright. So, Iām not a kid. Iām also in my third year of undergrad and will be graduating next year and Iāve already secured a spot at Yale. So⦠Not a kid.ā
Now that was certainly news to Phoenix. Sure, it was quite clear that the kid -- er, teen -- had inherited his fatherās knack for unnerving glares. He found himself meeting that glare right back, but with a markedly less intimidating one. Phoenixās stare was better described as confused and slack-jawed.
(Heās EIGHTEEN!?)
(With every new fact this kid reveals about himself, my mind feels closer and closer to imploding. At this point ... Iām half-wondering if Iāve been struck with amnesia again or something. Youād think Iād remember my friendās eighteen-year-old son, but apparently not ... hoo boy.)
āUm ... right. Of course you are. I mean, the apple doesnāt fall far from the tree, and ...ā He sighs.Ā āLook, can you answer me honestly? This ... this isnāt some really, really, REALLY bad joke, is it?ā
theothervonkarmagirl:
āā¦.ā
She sighed through her nose. No, Maria. Murder is against the law.
āYes, it is. Iām not asking you to walk me down the aisle. I just wanted to let you know because heās considering taking your name. I didnāt want you to check the family records and be surprised when you see a new name there. I know your heart probably canāt take it anymore.ā
āAnd what is that meant to insinuate, Maria?ā
āThat you somehow derived your weaknesses from me? I think not. And I will certainly not allow some wastrel to bear the proud von Karma name. I forbid you from wedding him! Do I make myself clear?ā
sireneia:
⦠āā truth be told, the case had been taking a toll on her. finding naruhodo had been the one saving grace of the past twenty four hours, but that finding a defense attorney did not mean that she had to put in any less effort in hiding the eye bags underneath makeup.
Ā Ā Ā Ā ā trade secret, ā she coos. ā who would pay money to see a gloom and doomstruck girl ? ā she supposes the lawyer has not seen her truly be happy. relieved, yes, but thatās not quite the same. the temptation for her countenance to dip into a frown is too real especially at the mention of the rumours, but she keeps herself composed.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā heās promising to try his bestā no, even more than that. heās declaring that ares will get to avoid the almost certain fate of a āguiltyā verdict. he deserves her smile the most right now and the fullest support she can give.
Ā Ā Ā Ā ā thank you, mister naruhodo ! alright, iāll come clean. ares works as a coworker with the victim. his whole company are regulars at the burlesque club i work at. the twoās boss, sir bramsel, is fond of me and has been keeping his eye on me hoping iāll let him pay for some āĀ special servicesĀ ā but ares keeps me safe, you see. i donāt know much of what happened while i was backstage, but the second i got off work, ares came for me a little moodier than usual and took me on a date. we were on that date the whole evening before⦠well, you know what happenedā next morning, we see the police busting in my apartment asking for a murderer !Ā ā
Special services, huh? Naruhodo made note to mention as much to the witness, one Sir Bramsel. Heād caught a momentary glimpse of the club owner as heād trekked into the station. That man was being interviewed by an officer of some sort, and he hadnāt sounded exactly kindly in his opinion of Ares, the accused. That one would certainly prove troublesome.Ā
He considers the rest of her words slowly and deliberately. Sheād noted that her friend had seemed a tad more dour than usual, but that couldāve been for any number of things. Maybe heād woken up on the wrong side of the bed that day? Regardless, something strange did stand out about Aresās behavior prior to his arrest. It would be prudent to point that out.Ā
"So, based on what youāre telling me, this whole thing took you by surprise, huh?ā
āIt almost sounds like it took your friend by surprise, too! Think about it, Miss! If he was the real murderer, what would be the first thing heād do? If I were an actual killer, I think Iād run out of town -- and with as few people knowing as possible! The fact that he took you on a date of all things ... well, maybe we could use that somehow? A jury would agree that he certainly didnāt act like a murderer.ā
ctrlaltkibo:
āāļøā āI will forever hold faith in the legal system, because despite its flaws, such a thing can always be fixed and brought back to deliver justice as we always do. Though my understanding of the scope and depth of such a system might be differentā¦ā
āI respect your determination to prove your clientās innocence, despite all the proof that is against them. We may be on opposite sides of the courtroom, but there is only one truth. And through evidence, I hope we can come to a conclusion together.ā
āThat does not mean I will not attempt to prove your client is guilty, however. The evidence points straight to their involvement in this crime.ā
Kristoph chides him with a simple laugh. It wasnāt anything notably condescending -- just a drawl expressed in a small chuckle, used in the manner of aĀ ātsk, tskā. This prosecutor spouted the same idealistic nonsense as his little brother. The law was absolute. Really, what would it take for these naive attorneys to realize as much?
āAh, yes. Evidence is everything, is it not?ā
āI suppose that Iāll have to undermine your findings, then. From what Iāve garnered from your detectives, the evidence against my client is markedly incriminating. Working together, you say? Thatās a thinly-veiled gloat if Iāve ever heard one. I didnāt think robots had a sense of humor, and quite a dastardly one at that.ā
