Why are the fandoms of media targeted at the LGBT community always so aggressive?

I’ve seen a lot of fandoms at war with each-other and even worse at war within their own fandom, however I’ve never seen it as prevalent as in media where it’s generally agreed upon that it’s targeted at LGBT demographics, Like with the Steven Universe fandom, there was that incident where they unapologetically pushed an artist to try and commit suicide, and recently with the Dream Daddy fandom that pushed an artist into deleting all of their social media (which to anyone with a fully functioning brain is something detrimental to keeping an art career going) with death threats and even made the devs write a post about not condoning their actions all within the span of 10 days of the release, or The Supergirl fandom loosing their marbles at a bad joke a cast member made at Supercorp’s expense. While you could argue that “It’s just the few bad apples.” I don’t think that’s the case as these people wouldn’t be in such large numbers as to genuinely be able to affect someone like that. While I know that correlation does not mean causation it’s very strange how prevalent these cases are. Either way if you have an opinion on this I’d love to hear it. .
