BACKSTORY
kal-el was born to parents jor-el and lara lor-van on the planet krypton, located in the andromeda galaxy, which orbited a red sun. krypton had a volatile core, and in order to save their son's life from its eventual destruction, jor-el and lara sent him away to earth in the hopes he'd be able to blend in and survive with the inhabitants, as they knew he'd resemble them. they were also aware that earth's yellow sun would potentially awaken powers that were otherwise dormant under their native red sun's radiation, and believed he would be most safe in the milky way.
his rocket landed in smallville, kansas where he was discovered by farmers jonathan and martha kent. the pair, who couldn't conceive children of their own, decided to keep the boy and forged adoption papers to establish his legitimacy. the kent home was warm and loving, but clark began to gradually discover over time that he wasn't normal like the other kids. first came the super strength, which he discovered on accident by lifting heavy farm equipment, then the speed, and so on. by the time clark was 17 years old, jonathan revealed clark's origins to him, and showed him the rocketship that brought him to earth that they've kept in the storm cellar.
on clark's prom night, martha kent was killed in a car accident. shortly thereafter, jonathan kent passed away from a heart attack.
with a heavy heart, clark chose to leave smallville behind after graduating high school and began traveling the world to help people in secret. he visited various countries and assimilated into their cultures, learning their languages and customs, and assisting the locals as needed. after 3 years of traveling, he relocated to metropolis to pursue a degree in journalism at metropolis university.
upon completion of his degree, he took a job at the daily star, and also turned to vigilantism. he spent the first few months as superman wearing a t-shirt and jeans. during an encounter (at least 6 months after donning the superman mantle) with an avatar of braniac, the collector of worlds, clark retrieved kryptonian bio armor that fused itself to his dna. it was here that he learned more about krypton and its heritage, and found a sunstone crystal. with the crystal in hand, he flew to the north pole and buried it into the ice to create his fortress of solitude, so he could have a static base of operations.
once the justice league was formally established, clark took a job with the daily planet, which is where he met pulitzer prize-winning reporter lois lane.
PERSONALITY
clark is a good person... but only to good people. he has an extremely low tolerance for those that abuse their positions of power to get ahead, and an even lower tolerance for people who think he won't strike them down because they believe he's "too polite". if he witnesses any kind of injustice, he'll call it out and intervene, regardless of the consequences. confident in himself and in his beliefs, he's very headstrong and rushes into danger in order to do what needs to be done. as superman, he can be very beligerent towards authority especially if he feels they don't do enough work to curb corruption, or if he feels they actively participate in it. he's not above mouthing off to law enforcement, or even militaristic institutions, if he feels he has to clean up their messes. as clark, he unfortunately also has a lot of the same mouth, but it's more subdued and he's likely to conceal it more often to avoid causing fights and to protect his civilian identity. all in all, he's bold, occasionally rude, and he can be quite arrogant.
despite his ego, clark is staunchly loyal to his loved ones and prioritizes them a lot whenever he can help it. while he's always likely to put superman and those duties first, he always tries his best to make time for the people he loves and uses his powers to his advantage to try to always be present in those moments. however, he has a distinct tendency to close himself off from those interpersonal relationships, believing that he shouldn't be saddling them with his thoughts and feelings, so he doesn't often outwardly communicate his negative thoughts. clark is fiercely sentimental, almost to a fault. he has hyperthymesia (HSAM) and never forgets a name or a face of any person he meets.
clark is always grieving, and when alone or when he thinks no one else is there, he is very lonely and can be pretty melancholic. he loves his life and values his relationships, but the experience of growing up an alien in a world away from the one he wishes to know is a heavy burden he carries that he doesn't want other people to know about. to this end, he often comes off somewhat superficially or shallow, and somewhat avoidant during more intimate conversations. there's a part of him that wants to indulge in his connections, and rely on them, but he's superman; he can't show weakness. he can do anything.

BACKSTORY
sypheria, located in the aedna galaxy, is a planet well-known for its technological advancements and is considered the most inclined world in the universe. a center of galactic trade and prosperity, its society is focused heavily on technology and the pursuing of enhancements towards their resources.
in order to find a place in sypheria’s methodical society, citizens are advised to take the sypherian government’s standardized test, otherwise known as apza (aptitude & proficiency zoetic assessment). apza asks several questions (conventional and otherwise) that focus on various aspects such as personality points and situation reactions, and it covers a wide range of topics in order to determine occupational placement. sypherians begin generalized schooling at the age of two and continue onwards until the age of seven, where they are expected to choose an area of interaction. once they choose a field of study, they are to attend a school that specializes in that field for the next three years, in the hopes they are prepared well enough for their desired results on the placement exam, and an occupation in the selected target area. (attending a particular school is not a requirement, but it’s heavily encouraged.)
reterice alligan isn’t a conventional member of sypheria’s vast and diverse society. always having a rather open contempt towards the government and its organization, he has a knack for the arts and appreciates the ability to visually express and convey ideas, and is a strong advocate for free will. he is also a very skilled technician, having a lot of interest in technology, and computer software. despite his extensive knowledge of technology, as well as his interest in art, reterice continued general schooling all throughout his life in favor of choosing a school that focuses on one particular department mainly due to his prominent belief that he could do anything if he really wanted to. because of his abnormally expanded intellectual capacity and faster-developing mind (as well as the continued general schooling), when he took apza at the age of 10, he scored inconclusively — 100% in every category available.
those who score inconclusively, fail to take the test, or simply score too low in every category to determine placement, are left to find refuge in the slums seeing as the government has no particular space for them to occupy. this move, however, did not apply to reterice. the poorer areas of sypheria are not as heavily maintained or monitored as other districts higher up the social latter, which makes negative activity easier to occur undetected. this freedom was not to be given to ret, a very smart individual who was considered by those in power to be extremely dangerous.
he was placed in verill park, a community full of different artists alike — an environment the government believed was most suitable for him, given his expressed interest in art and visual aesthetics. verill park is also more heavily monitored than poorer areas, which offered a satisfactory conclusion to the government's concerns regarding reterice.
soon after having “miraculously” been given an area of interaction, he joined a secret and legendary organization known as the oia as an information analyst. the oia is an organization composed of assorted fugitives or other inconclusive members that exists to possibly destroy the government and create a new, perfect system in place of the old one, however little is known about the organization and whether or not it truly exists. ret, having extreme faith in his own abilities and maintaining a deep hatred for his government, is a useful tool in the oia’s numerous operations to bypass security clearances and to expose corrupt people in high positions of power to weaken the support of the system. he also participates in other ground-level missions to slowly dismantle the system, piece by piece.
he is currently an artist and is well-known for his street art, and retains his secret positioning in the oia.

BACKSTORY
for many, many years, watchers were thought to be very few in number... if any still existed at all.
created by a strong subset of magic that has been lost to the world for centuries, watchers were powerful beings imbued with one of the three animal spirits: the bear, the boar, or the wolf. they possessed particular physical abilities indicative of their bloodline, making them fierce warriors often feared in battle, and were sworn to protect the first king of rosenrade. decades after the creation of watchers, war ravaged the land with various powers vying for control of the realm; the kingdom of rosenrade expanded and grew rapidly into an empire beyond its original city-state borders, and the sorcerer who created the first watchers disappeared without a trace. in his absence, watchers continued to dwindle in number until they became nothing more than a forgotten echo.
levi grew up hearing stories of these fabled watchers, but his childhood was anything but warm. his mother died during childbirth, and he never knew his father; forced into circumstances beyond his control and abandoned in the small fishing village of akkeri, he began stealing at a young age simply to survive. growing up poor meant levi had little options, and he soon found he had a great affinity for committing small-scale thefts undetected. he slowly made his way out of the stifling village of akkeri to the edges of rosenrade, establishing himself quickly in the city's underworld through his seemingly supernatural power and speed, and came to a decision that he would use his abilities to help the less fortunate who couldn't help themselves.
during the first full moon, just after his 12th birthday, his eyes began to glow.
legend says that this was the most recognizable characteristic of the wolf watchers.
attempting to conceal his eyes, he broke into the nearest library to do research on his affliction, reading countless tomes, and he soon came to a harrowing realization: he is a descendant of the wolf bloodline. he now knew the source of his power and agility, and it changed everything.
by the time levi was 17, he was the unofficial caregiver of other orphans in rosenrade, and with the increase of responsibility came the necessity to branch out beyond his petty crimes to find a better payoff. he began to steal from the nobles branched throughout the city, and fenced off his finds to feed his family. word of a watcher began to spread among the citizens of rosenrade, word levi didn't hear until it was too late.
levi didn't think anything of it when his last heist was much more easy than anticipated after weeks worth of sufficient planning. he was holding a string of pearls when the blade of a sword made contact with the skin of his neck, and he soon found himself surrounded by knights. he was then given a choice: join the royal guard and serve king ancerus av rósureyður, or he and his family will perish.
now twenty-five years old, he serves the current sitting keisari as the youngest captain to ever ascend to his guard, and stands at attention in his vicinity at all times unless otherwise engaged with other affairs. unbeknownst to most citizens in rosenrade, levi secretly acts as the emperor's assassin, committing political assassinations to destabilize neighboring kingdoms and bring them under the empire's rule.
levi doesn't like to kill, but he does so obediently; if he doesn't, he risks the safety of his family.
PERSONALITY
it's difficult to get past levi's rough exterior. levi, first and foremost, has a pretty rigid moral compass and believes in good, surprisingly enough—but this doesn't necessarily mean he believes in doing good. levi has done whatever it took to survive in order to protect his family, himself, and his best interests, so he doesn't remotely think of himself as being a good person. he currently values his own life by metric of utility and how useful he feels he is, and he isn't much of a leader figure; instead of taking charge on his own and acting upon his own ambition, he will be the agent for others that embody the same ideologies he himself employs. this is simply because he would like to be responsible solely for the decisions he makes, not for the decisions of others at his behest. he does not believe in regret because he feels there's no point in ruminating on things that can't be changed, and doesn't harbor any. additionally, he believes that the ends justify the means, and does not feel guilt towards any potential collateral that occurs. as a result, he will do bad things with no qualms, and he does them well; he masks a lot of his feelings and he does not communicate them or express them unless he's angry or annoyed. while collateral damage does not have any effect on him, he does dislike needless casualties and will avoid them if possible. all in all, he outwardly appears to be morally grey.
while he can be polite and cordial when situations warrant as much, he unfortunately has a level of social ineptitude that can make the atmosphere rather tense at times, and it feeds more into his unapproachability rather than his friendliness. levi doesn't speak unless spoken to, and when he does respond, he can be pretty unpleasant and blunt without consideration of the delivery and how it will be registered by others. despite this, if he's interested in the topic of conversation, he can actually be quite the conversationalist and he does have a sense of humor... albeit, a very dry one. he loves his solitude and prefers to be left alone whenever he can help it.
he often finds himself easily irritable and is actually very cynical, making it difficult to form bonds with others, but don't be fooled by his apparent perpetual state of vexation or disinterest; contrary to what may be popular belief, levi is actually quite the romantic. what he genuinely wants most of all is to establish genuine bonds with people, and he believes in love. his yearning, though, is very deep-rooted, and he is in denial of it and significantly represses it. he will often say that he thinks love is a distraction, a weakness, and gets in the way of his duties.
ABILITIES
BERSERKER STATE: when in this form, he is consumed with an inexplicable bloodlust that exploits the innate magic in his body, make him impervious to all weapons and very difficult to kill. he does not transform or change shape, though his eyes will glow a menacing red when activated. while he has full mastery of this form, he prefers not to enter it if it can be avoided, as he feels weakened and vulnerable afterwards for some time.
SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH: he has enough strength to exert force beyond what would be normally capable for most humans. normally, he can lift about 1857 kgs with little issue; at peak capability, he can lift 150 tons without breaking a sweat. that's the equivalent weight of a blue whale.
SUPERNATURAL SPEED: he moves faster than many other creatures and is able to run at an alarming speed; under a full moon, his speed makes him almost invisible to the naked eye.
SUPERNATURAL STAMINA: he is able to exert more force and energy without fatigue for longer periods of time.
SUPERNATURAL HEALING: while he can be injured by regular weapons most of the time, he heals very quickly respective to the size of the wound. a paper cut may take 10 seconds to completely heal, while a large gash to his chest may take an hour.
SUPERNATURAL SENSES: his natural senses are amplified for more optimal performance, increasing his sense of smell, sight, and sound. he is able to see much better in the dark and smell creatures from hundreds of meters away. he doesn't particularly enjoy this though, as he often doesn't like what he smells and hears; he will frequently complain of a distasteful smell if he can discern one.
DISEASE IMMUNITY: levi is unable to be afflicted with regular human diseases and is immune to them.
