Right then, I'm Charlie Rodgers. Presently, I go to an American university called Walt Disney College. A bit odd, no? A cartoon company has it's own college. I study engineering there with my mate Eric Parker. If you don't already know of me, I'm the one who is lost.

Topic: High school.

Did they belong to a clique or stereotype? If so, which one?

Charlie hadn't really belonged to any sort of clique.  In most circumstances, he was a bit of a loner.  He didn't really do well in social gatherings, so he avoided most of them as best as he could.  It's unclear whether he simply wasn't equipt with the social skills that most others had or if he simply didn't want to have a bunch of friends, because he could have.  Instead, he focused much more on his grades, as he wanted to be an engineer when he graduated school. His closest friend was Eric Parker, a boy that understood him much more than any other person could, even if they had tried.  Sadly, they hadn't.

Were they a good student or not?

He was an amazing student.  He tried his hardest on all of his his exams, did all of his homework, and studied very hard to get to where he is now.  His scores were impeccable, much higher than he would ever admit to anyone, besides Eric.  He couldn't went to any school of his choosing, as he had both the money and the grades.  

Were they bullied or were they the bully?

He was often bullied due to his strange behavior.  It wasn't necessarily strange, but a lot of kids believed it was, as he didn't really come out of his shell for most of the time he went to school.  It was more of a he didn't want to bother with anyone sort of thing, but he was never cruel enough to say just that.  Instead, he tried to mind his own business but the other boys just didn't seem to want to allow that.

Did they know anybody from the college back then?

He's known Eric for a long time.

Ella nodded, following him out and toward the dorms. “If you don’t mind waiting a moment. I’d like to clean myself up a bit.” She wouldn’t need long, just a minute to wash her face and fix up the little bits of makeup she was wearing. Her face still felt all warm, the way it always did after she cried, and she wanted to clear it. There was still plenty of day left, and she was determined to enjoy it with Charlie. 

It was very fortunate, she decided, that he had shown up. After all, spending Mama’s birthday alone and crying would only have disappointed her. Instead, she was going to go out and get tea, or maybe even food, with a very kind-hearted boy. And he was very kind-hearted, of that she was certain. Kind-hearted, and sweet. It would be good for her to spend some time out and about with a person like that. She’d get her cheer back and everything would be fine.

When he told her his plan, she wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry or smile or kiss him. Celebrate her birthday! How marvelous! For the first few years after she passed away, Ella and her father had done just that. And then they’d stopped, and now she couldn’t remember why. It was the perfect way to honor Mama. “That’s a wonderful idea. Thank you so much.” He’d asked what she liked, which caused her to stop and think. “Um…Mama liked lots of things. Cupcakes were her favorite food. And…um…she liked to take long walks in town. I think she missed living in a city, but she would never have admitted it. And old musicals. She loved Julie Andrews ones especially.” She bit her lip, trying to think of other things.

Charlie let her walk out first and then followed behind, his hands deep in his pockets.  "It's alright, I sort of figured."  He wasn't really sure why he had guessed that she'd want that, some kind of intuition, maybe.  He walked alongside her as they went from the main campus, to the dorms. It was bright outside, the sun shone high above the trees with barely any clouds in sight.  He squinted a bit, to see the brick dorms that stretched ahead of them.  He wasn't dressed for the Flordian weather.  He knew it was hot, that's all his parents had told him when he left, but he was used to the rainy and cold weather back home.  He liked that.  The bright sun that shone against his back, he did not like that.

Charlie had never celebrated a birthday in his family before.  Sure, there were the typical birthdays for him when he was much younger, but he could hardly remember those.  The only way to relive those memories were through photographs, not through anything locked away in his brain cells.  Along with that, his parents didn't celebrate their birthdays, either.  They celebrated holidays and things of that nature extravagantly.  They'd invite many, many people of the same upper class background and he'd meet intelligent young men and beautiful young women.  None of them ever stuck with him, though.

He turned his attention back to her, after he had informed her of his idea.  He smiled a bit, as he saw her excitement grow and grow on her pretty face rather quickly.  He was surprised she hadn't thought it up herself, as she seemed like she'd be the type to celebrate instead of mourn.  "I'm sure we could incorporate all of that."  He said.  They did live in Florida, there was Orlando less than thirty minutes away by car.  And cupcakes, old musicals, all of that was simple to find.  He wasn't entirely sure where, that wasn't exactly his favorite pastime of sorts, but he was sure they'd find it.  "We have a lot of time."

Ella laughed a little. She liked how he talked, with his words like “cuppa”. They would have sounded silly coming from her, but they sounded all normal from him. “You don’t need to buy me dinner, but tea would be nice, if it’s not too out of your way.” The idea that he’d buy her dinner was almost absurd. Dinner was an expensive sort of affair, and she certainly didn’t know anyone who had the money laying around for it. Although, she supposed it was possible boys just found the money for these sorts of things, since she knew other girls who had gone on dates with boys where they bought dinner. Maybe boys had secret funds their parents shared with them to pay for girls’ dinners. But that was for dates and stuff.

Taking another tissue, she got her eyes all dried up and her face as close to normal as she could get it. It was probably best that she didn’t have a mirror, since she was better off not knowing what she looked like. He was nice enough to offer her tea; the least she could do was not look like a total mess. Plus, if she saw that her eyes were red, she might just start crying again.

“I don’t really want to trouble you. I’m really fine. Just, with my mother’s birthday being today, and I couldn’t go visit or even leave flowers, so I was already on edge. And then I was talking to this boy—he means well, I think, really, but he’s a little confused about how to show it—and he said something. I don’t even really remember what it was. But I guess it just sparked me.” Rambling again, Ella? For goodness’ sake, control yourself. “But, anyway, I’m sorry. I never asked how you were. How have you been?

It was nice to hear her laugh.  He liked the sound of it, but the small and quickly faded smile that it brought with it made him feel like he had accomplished something, even if it had only been for the time being.  "I was only offering if you were hungry, it is around that time, I think.  I never said I needed to, I wanted to."  He wasn't sure how much time had really passed since he had walked out of class and into this room.  "Either is fine with me, there's a caff in the school, right?  Where we can get a brew.  I think I saw it when I first arrived."  He tried to remember if it was in the front of the school or maybe it was in the back, maybe it was close to the kitchens, or maybe it was outside of the school.  He frowned a little as he tried to recall the exact location.  He hadn't been there long enough to really memorize anything, let alone remember what number dorm was his.  

"Do you need to go back to your room first?"  He asked her.  Charlie hadn't meant it in a rude way, so he decided to clarify, afraid he'd offend her.  "I don't want you to think you have to go right now, if you need a minute to yourself, I'd understand."  He knew what it felt like to need to get yourself together.  It was difficult, depending on the circumstances, and his had ranged in all of the years he had been alive.  He was sure most people's did.  That was, after all, how life worked.  He had learned early on in life that everyone had their own fair share of problems -- some weren't fair, but he would learn that a few years down the road.

Charlie nodded, something he did out of habit to show he was attentive.  "Okay," He started and then paused, until a smile came over his face.  "This is going to sound mental, so feel free to stop me whenever you want."  He took a few more seconds to think over what exactly he was planning before he spoke, again.  "Forget the tea, let's celebrate  your mum's birthday.  I know it's a tad weird because I dunno her, but I'm sure she was a phenomenal woman, I reckon I would've liked her.  What do you say?"  He didn't leave her too much time to respond, as he was a bit excitable over his idea, so once she did, he added, "Tell me what she likes."
