She waved both hands excitedly, proud of that little title. Her smile didn’t last long, when Charlie revealed what was going on. “That’s…unusual” she tilted her head in confusion. She picked up a fork, but didn’t grab a piece of pie, still going over Charlie’s words again. “Just doesn’t make sense” her eyebrows furrowed, pointing the fork at her friend before speaking. “You guys will make up, right? I bet it’s something silly. Tensions are high, with all the wedding planning and stuff–” she swallowed, taking a tentative glance at Charlie.
She nodded in agreement at the unusual part and stuck a fork into her slice of piece. “It doesn’t. It feels strange. I feel so empty. I swear you would think we broke up or something...” Charlie continued playing with her dessert, resting her cheek on her hand. “It’s not...it’s not silly, Madie.” She wished she could tell Madison but it wouldn’t be right and would only end in Trixie hating her more if that were at all possible. “I’m not sure we will. I don’t think she wants me in her life anymore.”
