‘she’s back.’
luna and donnelly im calling it 100%
thoughts on alu overall?
idk man it just seemed meh to me. dlu has been my favourite so far, and obvi that’s because all the characters were in such close quarters. and just tbh i couldn’t give a flying fuck abt marrow so there’s that lmao. loved all the hale sibling goodness we got, loved more charlie (though he seemed way more toned down and i didn’t like that) and beckett, all the parents interactions had me crying on the floor, loved donnelly and farrows relationship, and donnelly and luna’s (💯💯💯), tom!! and kinney!! and oscar!! and the rainbow brigade!! was so cute!!, the whole sand castle beach scene was fab, and thatcher and jane!!! but the plot really fell down for me, i couldn’t really grasp what was actually meant to be happening, all of a sudden moffy was obsessed w marriage, farrow was hellbent on medicine and then suddenly wasn’t, and everything just seemed really disconnected, but overall, i guess c+, edging b-? i think.
“it’s magic.” luna says.
we trust that time is linear. that it proceeds eternally, uniformly, into infinity. but the distinction between past, present and future is nothing but an illusion.
pacey and joey + iconic declarations
are you delusional enough to believe that you actually have something real with joey? well, if i do, its because of her own free will. do you really think a couple confused weeks means anything compared to the lifetime that we’ve had? and do you actually think that you could possibly hold on to that beautiful woman with some sort of selfish ultimatum?
it’s never left you.
“he’s an idiot along with the rest of the world.” charlie pauses. "except you.“ he only tells this to beckett.

llu spoilers and overall thoughts
ok finished llu and im pleasantly surprised; liked marrow a hell of a lot more than in dlu, tho still skipped quite a few of their scenes and barely skimmed the MANY sex scenes, just seemed extremely gratuitous to me; as was expected felt much more of a connection and investment in all the other characters, charlie luna and beckett in particular, along with the other cobalts and the hale siblings; i find it very interesting that i like literally every other character in the damn book more than moffy and farrow whoops; donnelly is my spirit animal and i love him; was very happy with how they handled the charlie/moffy situation, i saw a spoiler before reading that had me thinking that charlie actually wanted to be the moffy of the cousins and i got incredibly worked up about it, but ended up really like the end result; the connor cobalt cardboard cut out with a christmas hat and scarf, do i need say more; there were quite a few loose ends and the whole stalker thing could have been entirely left out imo, also the quick fix to the incest plot seemed like damage control for the twins after the horrendous feedback but not mad about it; the ending of the book actually gave me closure, and i seriously feel that they could switch povs for the next one, offer a different viewpoint of marrows relationship, how it affects the families, more insight into the parents and the family dynamics apart from fucking moffy; i really appreciated the cobalt praise in general, i see a lot of hate toward them sometimes, my beautiful diverse wonderful family, and i really didn’t like farrows blatant dismissal of them (tho this is obviously bc of his ties to the hales, but still, didn’t like it); where. are. garrison. and. willow. i. miss. those. kids. so. much.; charlie and beckett made me so emo u don’t understand i love those boys sm (like seriously they had their own colour highlight in ibooks guys, that’s a first for me); overall much better than dlu, i think the girls are really finding their feet with the adult characters, really liked the inclusion of more cousins, i really liked sfo they were a nice breath of fresh air to the crew (donnelly and luna anyone?), and i don’t know how they’re going to pull it off but i would love more screen time for the younger kids; im really hoping for a much more lowkey third book without a giant plot or anything, more aty-esque and completely character driven with only a small plot w the gang staying in philly and hopefully revisiting the gated com i miss so much a LOT more - i wanna see the houses, the hale house the meadows cottage and cobalt mansion i miss my families; i would give anything to see a lake house christmas. good job girls, 3.5/5 (edging more to a 4, there’s just still no connection for me to moffy and/or farrow sorry bbs).
you don’t believe in anyone or anything but yourself. it’s called surviving.
