“I think it’s a football thing, depending on where you’re from the Steelers vs. Eagles thing is ingrained into you from birth. You got me with white supremacy, but trust me, theres a fair number of people around there that think Donald Trump has some good ideas.” He made a face, like even the idea grossed him out. “That probably helps. Not hearing it all the time and all when you’re little and all.” He nodded a little, smiling. “I’m not really surprised. It’s nice, especially the farther into the country you get. The city’s kind of a nice change of pace though.”
“Unfortunately, I don’t think it matters where you live, Trump supporters just seem to appear out of nowhere and bless you with their wonderful and thoughtfully considered opinions about how racism is the best idea ever. Anyway, moving beyond that, I’m sure it’s beautiful. I’ve never been to a real forest or heavily wooded area. Back home is just flat and grey and very distinctly Texas. It’s a real bore.” Charlotte smiled, curling a piece of her hair behind her ear. “The city here is nice. It’s fast enough without being suffocating. What brings you here? Work? School? In my case especially, all of the above?”
