Adventure Comics #270, March 1960, cover by Curt Swan.
Jon if ANYBODY is gonna be accepting of aliens from another world,
Batfam where everything is what you typically come across except instead of Jason calling Tim 'pretender' or 'replacement' he just calls him a larper
Bhahahahhahaha
They get twenty minutes into this conversation before they realize that Jason means LARPer as in a poser and Tim means LARPer as in throwing bean bags and going to a Renfaire
the problem with movie remakes is that they always remake something that was already good, meaning at worst you ruin it and at best your remake is largely redundant. to make a truly good remake you need to start with source material that is absolute dogwater. ignore the pull of nostalgia. redeem the sins of moviemaking past.
I wouldn't call it a truly great film, but Spider-Man: No Way Home took One More Day, a comic so bad it made the news, and turned it into a pretty fun flick.
Adapt/remake more dogshit! Put your fix-it fanfic on an IMAX screen

An official emergency statement RE: The MAWS Thing (SPOILER)
On the one hand: my boy. My loser chud son with every disease. Teen Jon Kent with time travel-related trauma and a Legion connection and a facial scar in My Adventures With Superman.
Like look is it weird he has the 90s fit? Yeah. But I really think it's as simple as that if you only know for sure you're adapting one 'bearer of the mantle', you're probably gonna give them The Cool Costume no matter who it is, same as every animated Dick Grayson and Jason Todd is gonna have Tim's pants and bo staff. Heck, Wyatt and Clogher have said they'd like to do Conner as the Clark-Lex hybrid down the line, and presumably he'd be in his t-shirt and jeans, which is what people already popularly associate him with in animation, leaving a slick Superboy look right there on the shelf. Idk, everyone's talking about this having Kon's vibe, but the clip we've seen also has the kind of dopey time-tourist energy Jon did in Legion imo. I feel like if the team wanted to do Kon as a Clois kid, they probably coulda just done that, but instead actively have something else in mind, and at this point I trust them implicitly. Or maybe it'll be the other guy in the movies and the look is mandated synergy. Or maybe it's such a mashup character it has to be evaluated as a new guy, and again, implicit trust.
On the other hand: ok it is real weird he has Conner's suit, that's a lot more specific than Robin having pants. He even has a Lex connection! The title of his proper debut episode next week is a Kon joke! Again, maybe it's a mashup guy. Maybe it's gonna turn out he only thinks he's Jon but he's a clone of the real Jon who's dead, and he'll wind up Kon after all (in which case I'LL be the hoodwinked and bummed out one, but if it's good it's good). Idk, I have to imagine the number of people who feel baited by this are smaller than the people who would be going 'why doesn't he look like he did in Young Justice?', or who are being introduced to the concept of a Superboy by this, but I am bummed on their behalf, among whom number friends of mine. And like, Jake Wyatt shared @bobbinalong's lovely take on if he looked like Jon from the comics, They Are Aware. Not a choice I necessarily think was the wrong choice depending on where it's going, weird choice.
On the other other hand: Conner's got a beloved 100-issue solo comic to his name, so many team titles, Geoff Johns’ personal attention back when that was a good thing, a starring role in a fan-favorite animated series that came back from the dead to make him the main character of a season, and will all but assuredly show up in the movies as the culmination of Nicholas Hoult's hate-boner. Jon's got the tv show where he plays second banana to a little incel Kylo Ren fuck and got recast halfway through, and the endless and pitiless torture chamber that is his comics existence; him getting a My Adventures-ification was a prospect I literally didn't even allow myself to imagine. As a Conner fan in good standing - I read all 100 issues of that comic - The Other Boy deserves this. And would it really be Teen Jon without everyone being angry that his existence STOLE THE REAL SUPERBOY from them?
(Jon Samuel Kent and Conner Kent look towards the entrance ramp to the arena in shock as a song by The Score fires up)
Everyone, this is Jon Lane Kent, distinct from Jon Samuel Kent. It's okay if you don't remember him.
Okay so deep breath, Jon Lane Kent was Lois & Clark's kid from the future that new 52 Superboy AKA Kon-El 2 was cloned off of and he took over the book when new 52 Superboy AKA Kon-El 2 died, and then he died and brought new 52 Superboy AKA Kon-El 2 back to life, I think. He's telepathic and can absorb energy in addition to the Superman Suite. He smoulders with generic rage.
By being a version of Superman & Lois' kid who was sent back from a dystopian future and by not being based on an existing Superboy in the present? MAWS Superboy might actually be closest to this guy, a ludicrous thought to have for many reasons, the biggest being you have to remember what happened in new 52 Superboy and I'm pretty sure even the people who made that comic don't remember what happened in it (probably because DC comics at the time were basically written by the editorial staff.)
So in the upset of the year:

Hi I'm Ami Angelwings, you may know me as the person who runs… Ami Angelwings needs your support for fund Ami's robotic mesh rectopexy repai
As I mentioned previously, I am getting surgery for a debilitating health condition I've been dealing with 14 months (dragged out because of doctors' misdiagnoses) that's basically destroyed my quality of life. I'm in pain daily.
Unfortunately, the surgery can't be done in Canada because it requires expertise (details in the GFM). Also because I'm trans there are surgeons who just don't want to take my case or are prohibited by their hospital from doing it (a US surgeon was going to operate but was stopped by her hospital considering it "gender affirming care").
So I have to go to Madrid for it which will cost €40,000 (approx $60,000 CAD, Canadian Dollars). I don't expect to raise all $60,000, but I am trying to raise half of it ($30,000). My family will be helping with the other half,
I don't really expect to get the $30,000, because it's a LOT of money, but I'm in a desperate situation and in pain every single day. If you could donate anything or even just boost and share to any platforms/communities you can, it would help me so much. <
I don't like asking for money and I don't like using EG to fund raise, and I know it's a tough time for everybody right now economically, but as I said I'm desperate, so I hope you all understand me using my platform for this.
If you want more details on what my condition and surgery are, they're in the GoFundMe post. I'd appreciate any help anybody can give.
You are welcome to share the link wherever you want.
Thank you,
Ami Angelwings <3
Edit: if you're getting an infinite loading screen after trying to donate, the solution is apparently to turn off your adblocker.
Alternatively, you can PayPal me at https://paypal.me/amiangelwings and I'll add you as an offline donor on GFM! (also thank you)

<3 Thank you for the reblog, and being called the godmother of Bikini Armor Battle Damage makes me smile. :)
And thank you to everybody's who's shared my GFM and contributed. It means so much to me, and also all the kind words people have given me too. Somebody said they wanted their kids to be able to enjoy Escher Girls too when they donated. ;-; Like truly, to know my presence and blog means something and that people are so willing to help me has brought me to tears.
I can't believe we're already 57% to the goal... I never expected to get close to that... thank you all of you <3
And if people can continue to share my GFM where they can, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you so much again ;-;

DASH PLATYPUS NOW AVAILABLE FOR ONE-TIME PURCHASE!!!
As much as I hype my Patreon I don't play around with it as much as I should, and I've only just learned that I can actually offer my work purely as a one-off offering via Patreon for people who don't want to subscribe, so--here it is!!! All four (so far) issues of DASH PLATYPUS, the tale of a recklessly bold platypus and his querulous echidna sidekick having globe-spanning adventures in pursuit of a mysterious evil organization, can be purchased by you, right now, for the low low price of $3 US! I actually would have made it lower if Patreon allowed me to!
I'm really proud of this comic and it's got a lot more wild stuff to come, so get in on the ground floor now!!

Hey everyone.
So I haven't used this account in quite a while for a number of reasons; a big one is that I don't want to spend too much time on social media, so I'm trying to limit the number of platforms I'm on. I mostly hang out on Bluesky, which is one of the better places for comics creators (I'm https://bsky.app/profile/prankster36.bsky.social , come check me out)
But in 2026 the name of the game is getting yourself noticed on the interwebs in order to build a creative career! I kind of hate it! But I do want people to see my stuff--and I do actually have something I want people to see now, after a lengthy interregnum.
The comic is DASH PLATYPUS, and it's an homage to old-fashioned pulp adventure and "funny animal" strips. Dashiell J. Platypus, milquetoast janitor at Brainerd University, is the victim of a lab accident during a break-in by a sinister organization. Zapped by electro-rays in the brainpan, he loses all trace of fear and self-doubt (including the bits he probably should have kept) and begins a career as a globe-trotting adventurer and conqueror of evil, despite having no qualifications whatsoever!
I'm really proud of DASH and I plan to unleash it on the world at large soon, but for now you can read all the (serialized, natch) installments by subscribing to my Patreon! Forward the Platypus! Click below!

Ink & Digital, 9 x 12 inches JoJo Seames, 2026
The first appearance, and Legion of Super-Heroes try-out, for Wildfire, then known as Erg-1 (Energy Release Generator). From Superboy (vol. 1) #195, June 1973.
This was the very first issue of Superboy I ever bought and read. It was also my first exposure to Dave Cockrum’s amazing artwork. I was vaguely familiar with the Legion from one of their last appearances in Adventure Comics several years earlier (an issue I no longer had thanks to a sibling who ripped it to piece; I’m looking at you, Sis!). However, I was amazed at much different - how much better - the Legion looked.
It’s interesting to note that this is the only time, to my knowledge, that Wildfire ever used these “duplicate” powers he demonstrated here. After he became a Legionnaire all he ever did was fire energy blasts from his hands and visor.
Cockrum had been in the process of updating many of the Legionnaires’ outfits since the time he first took over the art duties on the Legion stories. This story marked the first, and I believe only, appearance of Colossal Boy’s new brown, tan, and blue costume. Cockrum stated that he had modeled it after Dynamo from T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents, his favorite comic book from the 1960s. However, that costume did not last, and the next time Colossal Boy a few issues later it had changed again.
(Just as an aside, it’s apparent that writer Cary Bates doesn’t have a handle on Chemical King’s powers - very few people did, which is why the character was rarely used. Chemical King could not create, control, or change elements - that was Element Lad’s schtick. Instead, Chemical King could control chemical reactions, i.e. having hydrogen and oxygen combine to make water. Real exciting stuff, I know.)
What? They introduced this great looking character with fantastic abilities, only to kill him off?
Don’t worry, he gets better. But my young self didn’t know that then.
What I did know was that I was now a die-hard Legion fan. The story and art, the great characters, the futuristic action - it all had me wanting more, much more!
And I wasn’t the only one. Cockrum’s work was so popular that two issues later the Legion went from being relegated to back-up stories to taking over the book when the cover title was changed to Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes (although the change did not become official until issue #222).
I had this comic as well and Wildfire became a favorite too. He's cool looking and has a great hook and that'll take you far in superhero comics.
Two FAce Attorney for DC Gotcha for Gaza! (prompts closed!) Okay the prompt was just to draw Two Face but I've had this joke in my mind for so long that I had to draw it heheh
why does God keep doing this to me, the only Jon Kent enjoyer of pure heart
friend once said "I mean it’s the son of The First Superhero and the company treats him worse than like the fourteenth member of the Flash family, you have to laugh" and I have been known to think about this quote several times a day
oh hey on a happier related note my good buddy @charlottefinn just posted this very good fic, Sorta The Super-Sons, borne of some conversations we’ve had! I’d recommend her previous story in this series, Gargoyle of Gotham, but all the context you really need is Tim Drake is now permanently a Man-Bat and this has worked out surprisingly well for him.
Shucks, you'll make me blush.
So yes, current writing project is a lil' fanfic, based around the premise none of us have been able to fall asleep without pondering: what if Tim Drake's life got turned upside down by a case of Man-Bat? And he had to rebuild himself from first principles and discover his own path outside of Robin and save a community of weirdos like him
Second one in the series is Tim and Jon have a little jaw-jaw about bad breakups, bisexuality and superheroics, guest-starring Young Justice. Hope you enjoy!
