Ever Since New York || Ben & Charlie (ft. Ellie)

Wedding jitters, cold feet, butterflies in the stomach--the words were being tossed around and Charlie couldn’t relate to any of them. The only thing that would have made the day better would have been if she’d been able to wake up beside Ben like she always did. However, there was the superstition that seeing one another before their ceremony would be bad luck, so, Charlie settled for rooming with Ellie instead. Now, she and the girls--her sister, her mum, her sister in law, Addie, Maya, and of course, Ellie--were all busy getting ready for the big day. “Have you heard from Ben yet?” Charlie asked Ellie as the two sat beside one another, getting their hair and makeup done. “Did someone make sure he woke up? You know he likes to sleep. Please don’t let Ben sleep through our wedding. I don’t know if his dimples could get him out of that argument,” she giggled.

It’s not like you set half of them up for me or anything,” he laughed. “Everything I do I want to share with you, it’s who we are,” he smiled gently. “I’ll guilt you into sharing the cake with me,” he stuck his tongue out. “Your baby traumatises me when I’m close and she’s scratching at the door,” he shook his head, laughing. Though the smile grew on his face when she took his hand. “I think we need to celebrate first.”

“I embrace your everything. What smile? There’s no smile,” she shook her head, attempting to hide the smile and failing completely. “I have to tag you in everything or people wouldn’t know that I actually have a boyfriend. People will think I’ve made you up!” Charlie insisted. “Me too. Except for chocolate cake. I’m standing by that. Still don’t want to share with you,” she shook her head. “He’s a boy, Ben! You always call Hatchi a she! This is why he doesn’t like you. Besides, if you weren’t so loud maybe he wouldn’t be so concerned with what’s going on in the bedroom,” she laughed along with him. “Celebrate. Sounds about right,” Charlie giggled, leading him back to the car.

“You mean all of my inappropriate bullshit?” he gave her a childish grin, knowing he got away with a lot. “I can’t and won’t deny anything, baby,” he nodded. “It just happens,” he nudged her hip gently. “You would’ve done it without my approval anyway,” he laughed. “We spend so much time together, I mean, why stay alone? I want to be where you are. I like to be in your bed.” He smiled. “I sometimes share the space with him, sometimes it would not be appropriate for a dog to be there.” He kissed her. “Forever and ever. And how about we go to that hotel together, huh?”

“I do mean that. Though, I’ve decided to give you a break because at this point, I’m not sure you can even help it. It’s just a reflex for you. And...I have to admit, some of them are pretty clever,” Charlie gave him a little smile. “Psh, would not have. I never go on your social media accounts. Not ever. Doesn’t sound like me,” she shook her head, obviously lying. “I like sharing everything with you. Everything is better if I’m doing it with you. Except for eating chocolate cake because I don’t need to share that with anyone,” she teased him. “No...let’s not traumatize my baby. Though, it really does set the mood when Hatchi sits outside of the door barking and crying while we’re trying to do...things,” Charlie laughed. At his suggestion, she smirked a bit, nodding along with him. “Telling people can wait,” she giggled, taking his hand.

I can’t cook and sometimes my aim isn’t great when I pee,” he choked, waiting for her reaction. “Even when I say things like that?” he turned his head, kissing her hand. “It’s not really hacking when you know all of my passwords. But I approve of you doing that,” he grinned. “It doesn’t matter who I’m talking to, you come up,” he nodded. “I think he hates me because I steal his spot in your bed,” he laughed. “I rather love being a bad influence on you.” His smile widened at her words. “I fucking love you too, beautiful.”

“You’re lucky I love you and I’m totally willing to let those comments slide,” she laughed along with him. “Especially since they’re usually true,” Charlie admitted. “And there you go again,” she sighed, the smile still on her face. It was part of why she loved him--he had no filter and whatever he was thinking just came out. “Now that I have approval it’s totally not hacking. Not at all,” she shook her head. “Me too! Because you’re a huge part of my life now. If I’m not at work or with Ellie, it’s always you and me. I love that.” At his comment, she chuckled. “You might be right but, we make room for him. He’ll learn to deal with it,” she assured him. “Forever and ever?” Her smile widened as her lips brushed against his.

I feel… like I have this purpose, you know… like I’m loved and wanted and I’m making a life with you. I’ve never felt that way. You are so biased too. I’m definitely not perfect… but you love me like I am,” he smiled brightly. “It doesn’t take much to make me cry, I’m an emotional guy,” he laughed. “Yeah? You’re going to show off that you’re mine?” he smiled down at her. “Best friend first, yes. Your parents have been good to me and I want them to know that I will always look after you. Hatchi sometimes hates me, sometimes likes me. So we’ll see on that one,” he chuckled. “Future Mrs Charlie Scott.”

“I set you up for that one, didn’t I?” Charlie shook her head at him, though, there was still a smile on her face. “You’re so loved, Ben. And not just by me. I’m always going to love you and want you forever. I’ll always remind you of it,” she grinned. “Oh right, not perfect. He can’t cook,” Charlie teased, poking her tongue out at him. “You’re perfect to me at least,” she gently stroked his cheek with her thumb. “I am. I’ll tell everyone. And I’m going to hack your Facebook and change your relationship status to ‘engaged to Charlie Ross’ just so everyone knows.” She half joked. “They know that, Ben. I think you’re pretty much all I talk about whenever they call,” Charlie admitted with a giggle. “Just give him some cuddles and he’ll be cool with it.” Her smile widened when the words left his mouth. “You’re a bad influence on me, love, but, there’s no other way I can say it to you I don’t think. I love you so fucking much.”

You belong with me and we are going to make this amazing life together. I’m so happy, Charlie.” He laughed lightly, watching her fan her face. “You’re so fucking cute. You can cry. I’ll start crying,” he nudged her gently. “Mature, baby. But it is, it’s yours. I’ve had that thing for years and now it’s yours. It looks good on you.” He pulled her in as she grabbed onto his hands. “Think people are going to be excited for us?” he smiled softly. “Charlie and Ben. We’re engaged. Fuck that feels good.”

“You and that mouth,” she giggled, putting a hand over his mouth playfully before pulling it away. “That’s all I want, babe. I want you to be happy. And I want us to be happy. I always want to be that person for you...the one that makes you happy. You deserve to be happy more than anyone I know. You’re the most perfect human being I think I’ve ever met,” Charlie laughed lightly. “No! I don’t want to be the one to make you cry. Never,” she insisted, placing her hands on the sides of his face. “It’s my engagement ring and I get to go home and wave it around and tell everyone that walks by me that I get to marry the best person on the entire planet.” Her smile matched his when he pulled her in, slipping her arms back around him. “Think? Absolutely. I’m telling Ellie first. She’s going to be so excited. Then my mum. My parents love you. They might be just as excited as I am. Oh, and Hatchi. He’ll be cool with it, I think,” she told him excitedly. “I’m gonna be Charlie Scott.”

His smile widened as he listened to her every word, he was so in love with her and her saying it all like that only made him laugh more. That was their story. “I fucking love you. I am the weird guy who talked too much, flashed you, kissed you when he had a girlfriend… and could not stop thinking about you. And here I am, almost a year later, proposing to you and you said yes,” he grinned. “No?” his green eyes looked over her face. “It’s just a ring I’ve had for years. You don’t want a new one?” though he smiled as she looked at the ring. “It is very us,” he said, returning her kiss. “You’re my fiancee and I am so in love with you,” he kissed her again.

Charlie laughed along with Ben as they reminisced on the crazy things they’d been through in just a year. “It’s been the best year of my life,” she told him. “You always make me feel like the most amazing person ever when I know you’re totally biased and I’m absolutely not,” she chuckled. “But the way you treat me and look at me and talk to me always makes me believe it. I never felt like I belonged and now I feel like I do...I know I do. And I belong with you. You make me so happy, Ben, I don’t think you realize how much you do,” she shook her head. “And I’m going to stop talking because it’s starting to hit me that I get to spend every day with you for the rest of my life and I’m going to start crying,” she shook her head, fanning her face with her hands to try and stop herself from crying. “I don’t want any other ring. It’s mine now,” Charlie poked her tongue out at him playfully, letting her eyes fall shut as she kissed him for several seconds before pulling away. “Oh my gosh, I have to tell Ellie, she’s going to freak! And my mum. Ben, we’re engaged! You and me. Ben and Charlie,” she gushed, grabbing onto his hands.

Ben smiled as her arms moved around him and his hands brushed over her arms. He was rambling and he knew it, of course he was nervous but she never looked away from him and he knew this was right. His green eyes watched her face with every word. He only grinned wider, knowing this girl, this beautiful girl he loved was going to be his wife. “I… was a mess before he came here. I never thought I would find this, but you came into my life and this is what I want. You are everything I want,” Ben said as if his life depended on it as he pushed his hands into her hair. He laughed, feeling happy. She’d said yes. “I love you too,” he breathed, taking her hand and slipping the oversized ring on her finger. “You’re the love of my life, Charlie Ross,” he said against her hair. “And I will get you a proper ring.”

“Are you kidding?” Charlie giggled a bit. “I came here and bumped into a goofy guy with a weird accent who talked my ear off for a night. I was flashed by you multiple times when you tried to show off your tattoos. I kissed you and thought you’d hate me forever for ruining what you had with Tessa...I would’ve thought you were out of your mind if you’d told me then that you would be the man I fell in love with. But, that’s how everything happens with us. There’s no planning. There’s no stressing about it. It always just happens and it feels so right. And you and I? We make it work because we love one another.” She kept her eyes in his as she spoke, smile never faltering. She watched him put the ring on her finger, making everything so much more real now. Charlie was wearing an engagement ring. “No,” she quickly shook her head. “Why would I want another? This one is perfect,” she insisted, admiring the ring on her finger. “This moment means everything, Ben. And this is the ring I want to wear to remember it. It’s totally us,” she leaned in to kiss him softly. “I love it. It’s my engagement ring from my fiancee.”

Ben let out a breath when she finally smiled at him and he couldn’t hide the wide grin on his face as that one amazing word left her lips. She’d said yes. He looked over her, his green eyes taking in every part of her face. He’d been so caught up in the moment and he’d said those words before he’d even had time to stop himself. But he’d meant it. He wanted to marry her. “I want to be yours forever,” he breathed as he stood from his knee and pressed his forehead against hers. “We have such a good relationship and such an amazing life together already, I know. We get each other, we understand each other. I know we don’t need to get married to know that we’re in love and happy. But I want to. And I know how much it means to you. We know that we belong to each other but I want to look at you across a room and think… ‘that’s my wife,’” he said softly, feeling those words come out so easily.

Charlie’s smile only widened as Ben stood, resting his forehead on hers. Her arms instinctively went around him, resting on his lower back. She pecked his lips quickly, listening as he spoke. It took her more time than usual to register each word that left his lips, as she was still convinced this was some sort of dream but, her eyes never left him and Charlie eventually realized that this was her reality, and this was just the start of her entire life that she would get to share with Ben. “I want everything with you, Ben,” she spoke softly, the smile never leaving her lips. “I mean, I’ve learned that you can never expect what’s going to happen in life. What you think is going to happen is always way off from what actually happens but, if nothing else, I at least know that I want to do it all with you. Because as long as I know that you’re the one I get to go home to every night, nothing else matters. Nothing else makes me happier than being with you. I love you, Ben. I want my forever with you.”

It took a minute for her to actually realize what was happening and what he was asking her. It had been the last thing she’d expected and it took a while to process his words and to get her own words out. “I want that too, Ben,” Charlie finally managed to get out, her heart pounding. “I want to marry you. Yes!” She quickly nodded, breaking into a smile and looking down at him, still half expecting him to tell her he was joking.

I don’t know who’s still lurking on my page after I’ve been out of the roleplay for a bit of time now but what even is this??

No. I left for my own reasons. Just because I disagree with the way nyelite is run and no longer want to be a part of the roleplay doesn’t mean that Ben’s mun needs to feel the same way. 

She and I are still friendly and talk regularly and she’d told me she was rejoining. Stop trying to create irrelevant drama from absolutely nothing.

Lastly, I’ve logged on here bc this account is being used for something else so, if you haven’t already done so, you probably want to unfollow as I will be posting on here again soon.
