thinking about Scott’s relationship with pain and the way he prevents himself from healing or even sinks claws into his own skin. the way he’s haunted by wounds that others (and even the narrative itself) often try to brush away. the fact that he’s been stabbed, shot, electrocuted and tortured but his injuries are dismissed because they disappear — even though the very fact of his supernatural healing is a violation and a reminder of the bite that Peter inflicted on him against his will. the way he’s trapped in a body that both makes him a target and erases the evidence of what was done to him. how he feels like he has to be strong and carry on no matter what. how he sometimes tries to assert his own agency and identity through self-harm. how the show inextricably links suffering and healing by making werewolves capable of drawing pain into themselves. how Scott especially seems to internalize this link and views his own suffering as something he deserves or needs in order to help others. how he wants something permanent and marks himself with a tattoo, specifically identifying with the meaning of ‘open wound’ because that’s how he feels and he wants his body in some way to reflect that… fucks me up

thinking always about how scott mccall is not only NOT a "bad friend" but is continously a support system for his friends, his pack, his mom, his classmates, and also strangers he doesnt know and will never meet again; how he is The Emotionally And Physically Provides For Everyone Guy to the point of being known in canon and fanon for being a soft, kind, gentle person, too soft, kind, and gentle for a real werewolf. even (we are told) unrealistically soft, kind, gentle, embarrassingly so, annoyingly so, perhaps in a way that makes people uncomfortable because it doesnt feed into their fantasy vindictive & retributive wish fulfillment ideal char archetype. how scott mccall (as a boy of color, and specifically as a mexican american boy) is allowed by the writers and much of the fandom to express vulnerability only as long as it is it in the service of others, only as long as he is not the one being comforted and supported. as long as he is working for them, doing labor for them, physical and mental and emotional. how this is even shown explicitly, in the narrative, by scott repeatedly taking the literal pain of his friends or of strangers, while no one ever tries to take his pain away.

Actually, Theo Reaken – Herbert West was my first idea for this series and I was doing the rest of works only because of this 😌

So, I think that character rly suit him. Like listen; young doctor, who studies abroad with dread doctors and then came buck to US. Here he can do science shit and make immortality elixir with med student Liam Dunbar aka Dan Cain… I have a vision okay? I hope now you have too 😋

cannot get over scott being sent a divine vision that he can't save himself. no matter what he does, how many people he helps, the wolf will always find the young man in the red hoodie. all scott can do is watch a bit of history repeat.
