May 21, 2016, a non-government group I am part of sailed the sea on a gloomy weather to be able to reach these children living in a coastal town of Romblon all the way from the metropolis of Manila. 

This cutie looks at me in surprise while having her snacks. 

This boy trying to get my attention so he playfully climbs this tree.

Crowds gather on the side and watch the children play parlor games.

When I go to places like this, these children are the first thing I look for.

To the fedex deliveryman who battled the storm yesterday for me to get my neatly wrapped package from Instagram, thank you. It's amazing that over the years, this platform inspires me to be so passionate about photography and sharing small moments of my life through square photos. So, this happened. I was selected to be featured on Instagram Suggested User List. It is one of the most exciting honors I have received this year and I am even more humbled.

Anyway, let me leave you two things I learned about taking photos, 1) Always focus on sharing quality photos rather than just going by the quantity 2.) Photography is not always about the camera.

The Field Trip Project - Tagaytay, Cavite

I finally had the chance to go back to Tagaytay yesterday. My cousins and I had an whole day on the road exploring the city. It has always been my favorite place whenever I am looking for a whiff of refreshing country air near Manila. We had sumptuous lunch in Leslie's Restaurant, it's one of the recommended places to eat, especially those who are craving for Bulalo. What I like the most about the food place is that the lake and the volcano can be viewed from the viewing platforms along the ridge.

It was quite chilly, it was nice to range freely with the outstanding scenery surrounding us and just savor the breezy afternoon and take pictures.

The #fromwhereistand Collection

I desire to explore every museum, climb every mountain, camp in every island, swim every ocean, eat where the locals eat, take the road that are less traveled and lose myself in the adventure. I intend to travel the Philippines with my semi-broken camera and I am on my way.

This collection was unconsciously planned and did not originally exists. However, upon discovery of how many feet shots I have in my iphone, taken during my travels, I decided to compile them all. Different places, different adventures, one feet shot at a time.

25 Things I Know About Myself at 25

I haven't post anything for quite a little while and since I just turned 25 a few days ago, I came up with this list.

Handwritten letters are still the sweetest form of communication.

I'm never going to be good at numbers. 

I still have the strange habit of running my fingers through grasses and leaves while walking. 

l'm always in love with my country.

I listen to music to handle stress.

I'm not afraid to start over when necessary.

I cry too often, too easily. I'm too sensitive and emotional.

I hurt people. It's inevitable and I am human. 

I take on responsibility. 

I'm misunderstood most of the time. That sucks, but that's life. 

I'm not afraid to fail because I'm good at picking myself up. 

I don't regret my tattoos like people said I would. 

I can't be best at anything but at least I can be good at it. 

I will always choose jeans over dress, sneakers over heels. It makes me feel better about myself.

I'm not afraid to take important risks. 

I will always make art, read books, write in a journal, travel, sing and drink coffee.

I can still be careless like a child at times. 

I'm happy having long conversations either with older people or younger people. 

I'm gentle but I take a stand aggressively.

90's music is still the best music to play while on the road.

I will always take photos.

Whenever I'm ill or sick, I would call my mom and I would feel better.

I say yes, and I know how to say no. 

There is an 85% I am not myself if I'm not wearing a side-swept bangs.

I live to inspire and be inspired.

Life Update In Tiny Squares - 12

So this is basically what my life lately is all about. A lot of interesting is going to happen next month and I’m kind of both anxious and excited.

I will soon be ending my career in the Background Investigation Industry at the end of the month. The past 4 years in the company have been very rewarding, with wonderful people and learning experiences to keep. I never actually thought that I would work this far because I can’t hold a steady job in the first place.

Recently, I submitted my resume along with my online portfolio to a photography studio and they require me to attend a few workshops for a month before they hire me as their apprentice. I have yet to find out the exact details about it or I may just stay as a unemployed for a while.

Leaving my job is not an easy decision but I am always reminded that it was never my dream to climb any corporate ladders. I want to be a sought-out freelancer who gets to travel occasionally or maybe an entrepreneur. Anything that requires creativity. I’m really not sure what to do next, what is certain is I need a half-month long vacation. I have to freshen up my mind before I hit the age of 25. It’s time to work on my own dreams, yow!

It's not obvious with my personality but I love flowers.

I'm not a take-me-a-picture-here-or-there kind of traveler. One to two photos of myself in one tourist destination is enough.

I find myself attracted to bad boys with bad hair, long-haired musician types.

I'm more of a sunrise person than the sunset one.

I have this endearing feeling reading blogs of angsty teenager. It’s quite amusing when they talks mostly about things that pissed them off, written in taglish and peppered with dozens of curse words such as "p*tangina" and "sh*t". Ah, teenagers. I bet, I will be a cool mom someday!

The Field Trip Project: Baguio City

It was already my second time in Baguio. The first was when I was 7 years old. My Tita accompanied me in one of her office field trips and visited some common tourist spots like Mines View Park, Burnham, Wright Park well technically all the parks in Baguio. I was contented back then. You know, Baguio is still Baguio. If you're a kid and never been to any cold places, Baguio is a little slice of paradise. We stayed overnight in one of the rest houses in Teacher's Camp which turned out to be one of the haunted places in the city.

We had enough of nature adventure in the Mountain Province and a horror thingy is exciting to end the Cordillera trip. With the availability of taxicab in the present time, it's no longer hard to get around Baguio. On our first day, Mel and I agreed that this trip should highlight the most uncommon place to visit. We had enough of public parks and ordinary tourist destinations so instead of giving priority to them, we went to 3 different haunted places, Diplomat Hotel, Teacher's Camp and 14 Laperal, the White House Mansion.

The city has that peaceful holiday feeling that day so in the afternoon we went walking around the city proper and public parks, dined in 2 of the most recommended food places in town, Pizza Volante and Hill Station, went to one interesting bookshop called Mt. Cloud Bookshop, visited different galleries and museums, Bencab Museum and Cordillera World and met circle of passionate artists in Tam-Awan Village.

Those were rare moments of happiness when you're doing something you perfectly love to do.

he Field Trip Project: Hill Station, Baguio City

If you desire to explore the world through food, Hill Station in Baguio has everything Asian, European and American dishes to offer with the quality of fine dining. 

We dined there on our last night in the city to kill time while waiting for our boarding time back to Manila. 

Personnel are all so friendly and attentive. 

What I personally like the most about the restaurant is its whole interior. Lovely photographs in frame are in every walls. The wooden structure of the place brings out the countryside vibe. 

Their food taste real great according to my boyfriend without any exaggeration. I ordered Home Smoked Ham Sandwich and Moroccan Spiced Baby Back Ribs for Mel. It was totally worth it to celebrate the last day of our Baguio trip dining in there. 

Hill Station has that shy appeal with a lot of humble things to share.
