I need to start making art for my extremely self indulgent post s2 radiostatic AU that starts as borderline staticsilence and ends as extremely mutual staticlovetune. In preparation for that here is the AU

The basics: after Vox is decapitated at the end of s2, he is extremely depressed and lonely in V tower, and ends up feeling extremely disconnected from Vel and Val because they're both so [rightfully] upset with him. He has no real autonomy and the shift from basically being a god to not even having a body kills him mentally and the other Vee's are so busy and upset with him that he suffers even more.
On the flip side, Alastor has taken Vox's trashed body back to his radio tower, and he spends time with it as if it's Vox. He redresses it in Vox's old clothes [that he has already] and chats with it, sits it at his table, dresses it for bed, just generally treats it like a close friend or partner and keeps it close. Through their frequency shenanigans and because Vox is so extremely understimulated, he starts feeling phantom sensations of Alastor laying on him, touching his arms, dressing him, etc and believes that he's going crazy because what else could that possibly be?
Alastor eventually realizes through catching bits of the news that Vox is seemingly off in some back closet and forgotten so he thinks, well. He must be in a sorry state. Would anyone even notice if he were gone? [obviously yes they would.] And one night, while very drunk and feeling very stupid, he decides to steal Vox from V tower.
So he does that, and takes Vox back to his, and wakes up the next morning between Vox's head on one side and Vox's old mechanical body on the other side, questioning every choice he's ever made. Vox, on the other hand, is just fully expecting Alastor to kill him, or torture him, or broadcast him, and he's so depressed and helpless that he just accepts it. Alastor finds that this makes him very angry. Out of sheer stubbornness, and a lot of other, more complicated feelings, he decides that he's going to keep Vox, and turn him into himself again. Somehow. In his own fucked up way.
Meanwhile V tower is very confused and concerned and Val and Vel are both convinced that Vox somehow figured out how to remove himself permanently, and everyone is trying to figure out just what the fuck happened... and Alastor just. Has the guy chilling in his room, trapped and hidden. He's feeding him oatmeal and shit. They're actually having quite a nice time. Alastor finds his depression and generally pathetic state really cute and charming and Vox finds Alastor's strangely doting behaviour extremely satisfying and comforting [though he is scared that Al is just fucking with him for a long while... he's also simply enjoying himself too much to care a whole lot.]
There are scenes that I have in mind like Vox's kidnapping and Alastor slowly making Vox a new body and Alastor and Vox skinny dipping in Alastor's bedroom bayou pocket dimension. Hopefully I'll bang some stuff out very soon
