Morgan & Stephen's Epic Road Trip
So we are planning a road trip for the future and are compiling a list of the creepiest places in America to visit. Here's the list so far (: ST. AUGUSTINE LIGHTHOUSE (Augustine, Florida) The St. Augustine Light was first constructed in 1824 as the first lighthouse in Florida, and it's still operating today. The building was reconstructed in 1870 after it began breaking down, and since then it's been a hotbed of paranormal activity. Several visitors have said they can see two girls on the lighthouse catwalk, and they are believed to be the daughters one of the construction workers, both of whom drowned near the lighthouse. http://www.staugustinelighthouse.com/events/darkofmoon.html BACHELOR'S GROVE CEMETERY (Chicago, Illinois) This tiny cemetery in the outskirts of Chicago contains only 82 plots, and most of them are actually unoccupied. But even though there aren't many bodies in Bachelor’s Grove, there is an incredibly high amount of hauntings. http://www.bachelors-grove.com LEMP MANSION (St. Louis, Missouri) This mansion was once home to the Lemp family, whose brewing company grew to be one of the most successful in the beer market of the late 1800s. However, all of that changed when son Frederick Lemp died mysteriously, which drove his father William to kill himself. The rest of William's three children went on to commit suicide years later for various reasons, making their mansion the site of every suicide in the family. The mansion is now considered haunted. http://www.lempmansion.com/hauntedhistory.htm THE STANLEY HOTEL (Estes Park, Colorado) This hotel is infamous for its role in "The Shining," and it was chosen for good reason. Many believe the hotel to be haunted, with reports of paranormal activities throughout the 140 rooms, but most focused in the ballroom. http://www.stanleyhotel.com/hauntedhistory THE WINCHESTER MYSTERY HOUSE (Sam Jose, California) What started as the pet project of a widow quickly became a fabled ghost story and haunted house. Sarah Winchester tragically lost her infant daughter and her husband, who had brought her great wealth by inventing the Winchester rifle. After the death of her family, a medium told Sarah that she was being haunted by the ghosts of everyone killed by a Winchester rifle, and that her haunting would only stop if she started building a house and never stopped. Sarah spent her remaining years building the Winchester Mystery House, complete with stairways and doorways to nowhere, long and uneven hallways, and other architectural oddities. Several people who visit it report strange sights or sounds. http://www.winchestermysteryhouse.com/thehouse.cfm CLINTON ROAD (West Milford, New Jersey) Clinton Road is said the be the most haunted road in America. The 10-mile stretch of pavement has been the site of a number of paranormal reports, including phantom trucks that chase cars, ghostly wanderers, and evidence of satanic rituals. A small bridge over a creek on the road is said to shelter the spirit of a small boy ghost that lures travelers into the water to drown them. http://m.nydailynews.com/autos/creepy-cursed-curvy-new-jersey-clinton-road-frightening-road-america-article-1.1803331 THE VILLISCA AX MURDER HOUSE (Villisca, Iowa) This home is famous for the unsolved violent murder of a family of 4 children and 2 houseguests in 1912. All 8 people were discovered bludgeoned to death in the house with no known murderer. Now, you yourself can stay overnight in the house and also take a ghost tour. http://www.villiscaiowa.com WAVERLY HILLS SANATORIUM (Louisville, Kentucky) The sanatorium was constructed to house tuberculosis patients, but it was not prepared to handle the tuberculosis outbreak of the early 1900s. It closed in 1962, and legend has it over 63,000 people died in the sanatorium, although the records actually suggest it was closer to 8,200. Still, the now-abandoned sanatorium is considered one of the most haunted places in America. http://www.therealwaverlyhills.com THE MÜTTER MUSEUM (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) This museum is filled with preserved human corpses. Owned by the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, the two floor building contains disturbing human remains, such as a 9-foot human colon and a number of torture instruments. http://muttermuseum.org THE SAINT LOUIS CEMETERY (New Orleans, Louisiana) This New Orleans cemetery is known for its above-ground vaults, but also for one of its spooky residents. Marie Laveau, known as the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans, is buried in this graveyard, and it is said that if you knock on her tomb and leave her an offering, she will grant you a wish. http://www.saveourcemeteries.org/st-louis-cemetery-no-1-tour/ SHANGHAI TUNNELS (Portland, Oregon) Nine miles of Portland, OR are above a set of secret underground tunnels once used to kidnap unsuspecting men and sell them for free labor on ships. This practice was known as shanghaiing, and the tunnels had secret entrances in bars an saloons so that shanghaiers could easily drop drunk men into the dark, maze-like tunnels. These tunnels are now said to be haunted by the ghosts of the captured men who died in them. http://www.shanghaitunnels.info THE WHALEY HOUSE (San Diego, California) Wealthy retailer Thomas Whaley didn't see any problem with building his estate on the land that was once used to execute prisoners in public gallows, but he sure did after he moved in. The Whaley family was cursed with a abundance of death and suicide while they lived there, and ghosts still haunt the place. Visitors are prone to hear random house alarms and pick up on strange smells out of nowhere. http://www.whaleyhouse.org MUSEUM OF DEATH (Los Angeles', California) (New Orleans, Louisiana) The Museum of Death really lives up to its name, as it is filled with all things macabre and morbid. Not only does it house the world's largest collection of serial killer artwork, but also a man's guillotined head and various torture devices. It also displays the original photos of crime scenes of Charles Manson murders and the Black Dahlia murder. http://www.museumofdeath.net/info TRANS-ALLEGHENY LUNATIC ASYLUM (Weston, West Virginia) For 130 years, the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum served as a hospital and home for the mentally ill. However, the asylum suffered from overcrowding and poor sanitation, and the staff dealt with these issues by locking patients in cages. Many believe the abandoned asylum is now haunted by the tortured spirits of these patients, and nightly ghost tours go for $100. http://mobile.trans-alleghenylunaticasylum.com THE LIZZIE BORDEN HOUSE (Fall River, Massachusetts) Lizzie Borden's father and stepmother were both murdered with an ax in 1892. Although the case is technically unsolved, many consider Lizzie to be the murderer due to her erratic behavior and violent tendencies. Borden moved from the house after her trial, and it is now a super creepy bed and breakfast. https://lizzie-borden.com THE GRAVE OF THE FEMALE STRANGER (Alexandria, Virginia) This mysterious grave is the burial ground for an anonymous woman who died in 1816. The young woman entered town with her husband wearing a thick veil so that nobody could see her face, and immediately fell ill. Her physician and nurses agreed to never reveal her identity, and her husband buried her himself so that nobody else ever knew who she really was. People in the area claim to see her veiled body still wandering around. http://blog.visitalexandriava.com/haunted-alexandria-va-female-stranger/ WILLARD ASYLUM (Willard, New York) More than half of the 50,000 patients who resided in the Willard Asylum for the Chronically Insane died within its walls. The asylum is now abandoned, and remnants of the building's morgue make it one of the creepiest places in the US. http://www.willardsuitcases.com SIX FLAGS (New Orleans, Louisiana) http://www.lovethesepics.com/2011/05/creepy-crusty-crumbling-illegal-tour-of-abandoned-six-flags-new-orleans-75-pics/ DOGPATCH (Marble Falls, Arkansas) http://www.slate.com/blogs/atlas_obscura/2014/05/21/dogpatch_usa_is_an_abandoned_hillbilly_theme_park_in_arkansas.html CHIPPEWA LAKE PARK (Chippewa, Ohio) http://www.forgottenoh.com/Chippewa/chippewa.html

We can’t wait to meet you little one! Mommy and daddy are so excited!! May 17, 2016❤️
SO we woke up to a cone on the car and blocking the whole driveway. We were so confused! Stephen went to work and told our friend Nathan about what happened. Nathan couldn't stop laughing and confessed it was him and a few Olive Garden buddies that snagged the cones from a construction site at 3 in the morning and set them up at the house. 😂😂 SUCH good times!! ~2014
