Sometimes i think about how one of Dio's most iconic poses is based on such an erotic, fetishistic fashion illustration by gay artist Tony Viramontes and i just become completely insane, It's such a decision, to represent your villain this way, the eroticism the mystery the power play the shadow,............his face obscured..... His presence his magnetism the statuesque musculature.. so otherwordly.... No words.. araki is CRAZY

The gesture, sensuality, fabulosity, drag, boldness, the powerful bodies, fashion illustration is embedded into Jojo's Bizarre Aventure's DNA. The decision to make a shonen like this is what makes jojo such an unique work of art in general. It wears all of its influences on its sleeve, openly and shamelessly, Araki is a completely shameless artist.

I've been dreaming of doing either this pose or the cover for volume 18, but I always put the idea aside because I wasn't secure enough in my skills. After so long, I'm finally making this !!

I was really into creepypasta when I was a teen, and I was the type of fanartist that drew the characters as copy pasted pretty boys. While looking at some cringy old drawings of mine I wanted to try and draw Jeff how I think he would really look like, and it was pretty fun to let loose with the pencil !

His looks are loosely based off of the video "I rewrote Jeff the killer" by Pastraspec on YouTube

For a good laugh during pride month I absolutely need to share this anecdote from 2019 :

far-right Italian senator Pillon posted some pride pictures on his Facebook to whine about it, and amongst them there was a Golden Wind poster featuring Giorno and the gang with the phrase "Sono più gay del figlio di DIO" (I'm gayer than Dio's son -making a pun as Dio means God in Italian) written on it.

It made national news, with boomers and right wing politicians insulting "the leftist author" for naming a queer character after God, some believing Dio as a character was supposed to represent God in the narrative, and Giorno Jesus, saying things like "he wouldn't dare mock Allah by making him gay !!"

To add more lore : June of that year Golden Wind was absolutely bashed by Italian boomers lol. There was another case in which the news outlet fanpage.it made an article criticizing Golden Wind for stereotyping Naples, but it was clear the author didn't watch the episode at all, and based his opinions on either a trailer or someone else's account: He said the protagonist of the part itself was named Golden Wind, and that he was a tourist coming from outside. It was a huge hit with boomers on Facebook, who insulted Araki and GW in every way imaginable. It became a whole case with italian animanga YouTubers against the news outlet, so much so they took the article off of Facebook and corrected some of the false informations.
