For a good laugh during pride month I absolutely need to share this anecdote from 2019 :

far-right Italian senator Pillon posted some pride pictures on his Facebook to whine about it, and amongst them there was a Golden Wind poster featuring Giorno and the gang with the phrase "Sono più gay del figlio di DIO" (I'm gayer than Dio's son -making a pun as Dio means God in Italian) written on it.

It made national news, with boomers and right wing politicians insulting "the leftist author" for naming a queer character after God, some believing Dio as a character was supposed to represent God in the narrative, and Giorno Jesus, saying things like "he wouldn't dare mock Allah by making him gay !!"

Risotto Nero & child reader hcs

To be honest, Risotto never thought he’d become a father

With as dangerous life as his, being a family man was close to impossible

So when you appeared.. he wasn’t quite sure what to do

Some la squadra members still wonder how Risotto managed to father a child, but he never elaborated

He just came to the hideout one day with what seemed to be a newborn

"Is that?..", Prosciutto inquired, his mouth agape from utter shock

"My child, yes", he nodded

"…Never thought I’d see the day", the blonde mumbled in return

All la squadra is supportive, of course

Especially Melone, he was probably one of the most capable to help with a child

Because to say frankly, Risotto had no idea what he was doing

And with being a capo, and now a proud father, he would get two or three hours of sleep at best

I see him as the type of parent who talks to his infant like they understand every word he says

“Remember I told you about that man boss wants us to kill?”

"Ba ah"

"Yeah you do"

Of course, he’d make sure no one from mafia world (except la squadra) knows about your existence

Wants you to have a normal life more than anything

So when you get older, you still will be going to school, having play dates and all the experiences normal children are supposed to have

Treats your education VERY seriously

He would never yell or be mad at you for a bad grade, but would encourage you to try harder

Asks Ghiaccio or Melone to tutor you because he has no idea how to explain school program

Trying to spend as much time as you as possible, even if sometimes he has no choice but to ask someone from the team to babysit you (mostly Prosciutto or Melone)

But he always brings you something back from his ‘work trips’

Likes to listen to you talking

About your day, what you like, what would you like for dinner etc

Lets you doodle on old documents while he works

Rarely takes you to the team outings, because they’re usually not child friendly

Still, you consider the whole team your honorary uncles

I don’t see him as a permissive type of parent, he can and will say no

Also would not tolerate tantrums

So you can cry as much as you want, you won’t get a cookie for breakfast

Would be supportive of any interest you have

He may have zero idea what you’re talking about but he’ll never say it’s boring

Like yes child tell me more about warrior cats (why are they cats and why are they warriors and who are they fighting with)

You guys have a little tradition of watching movies on Sundays (when he has time, at least)

Sometimes likes to look at your features and compare them to his

‘Damn I really have a kid’

Sometimes it feels kind of surreal to him
