Unsent letter
TO THOSE WHO CHEATED, CHEATING, WILL CHEAT
To you, whoever you may be,
I’m left with “why did you do it?” then more questions rush to my head and sank my heart. Am I not worth the respect to at least keep you from doing it?
For all the times I trusted you, I always hoped you’d never break it. But you did. It’s not like it’s the first time someone shattered them in pieces, however with you it hurts the most. Because I thought you were better than that, I guess I thought wrong. I know how much expectations can be so disappointing, but you made it seem impossible to be let down. Until you did it.
And please, please, don’t give me the apology of being ignorant. You knew what was going to happen, and yet you still gave in. Temptations are everywhere and the sin is when you entertain them. If you’re going to say you’ll change, act first before committing. But don’t tell me you’ll love me better, because you should have thought of it before cheating.
You might have never felt it but worse is you might have, and seek revenge through me. Did it make you feel better? Satisfied? Did those who cheated on you feel hurt? There is no better way of avenging them than being happy and grateful despite their wrong doing. I hope you understood that. You thought that by doing the same damage to someone will make you truly happy, but no. You just made the society worse. You became part of the one that makes it bad.
And no, I won’t seek vengeance for what you have done to me, in lieu I’m going to do the right thing and spread the love you should have given me. The one I deserved. So that they can also do the same, and the world will be a better place. No, I don’t hate you nor angry at you. Lost respect, maybe. Lose my trust, unquestionably. I can give you the trust to change but I can’t trust you to keep the same love for you have let it go the moment you submitted to sin.
I just hope you find happiness in your heart and not from someone else, may you see your worth yourself and not be blinded by the false facade others show you. Love yourself for who you are and for who you are not. And if you’re given the chance to be trusted again, make sure this time you’ll hold on to it. Handle it with care because it is the most precious thing in a relationship. Make them feel the same love the Lord gives you. Be their blessing and show them the way to be a better person.
