We both have lines that don’t go the same direction. The differences do not scare me, but the idea that our projections will never touch or even meet. I have always loved the idea of opening up to a new unfamiliar galaxy but I don’t want to be stuck on a route that does not return.
I was so busy thinking how life has been unfair to me but after a while, I have become aware of what I'm actually made of. I'm a race car without a racetrack and a drizzle in an empty island. I fight with the slightest bit of chance and wonder why I can't lift the weights of burden on the other side of the city fortified by high walls. Maybe it's about time I stop defying what cannot be defied and start choosing my battles wisely.

I tug my hair with my bare hand as I turn and snuggle into the comfort of the blanket on the other side of the bed.
Red lips quite open, serenely resting eyes, and the accents of breathing—there I watch my universe silently for a few more minutes before I fall back into sleep.
I slowly grab his arm to keep his warmth around me but he moves forward to find a room for a leg—my heart just can’t get enough.
In silence, in my most calm state, I whisper a gentle ‘I love you’. Without hesitation, without having the need to completely open his eyes, he whispers back.
Another hour passes, the pain on my back becomes more evident and the longing for space less subtle; but they don’t matter anymore. Waking up next to the person you love—can it get any better than this?
The silence is so powerful I hear nothing but the part of me that longs for calmness. I grabbed my other arm as I trace every inch of the subtle damage the gestures of the universe has offered me. I long for the kind of calmness that can pull one away from any waves of wreckage, enough to keep the feet on the shore standing firmly. I have been staring at the abyss of life for quite a while and I think the pain inside becomes just another hit of the unnoticed wind. But now, in this afternoon, right at this very moment, I find a temporary tranquility. I used to think that being alone in a quiet room means having no one. I pulled a leg, let it rest over my thigh, and looked outside the window as I silently whisper to myself, “I can get through this.”

Day 1
Another sunrise cuffs onto my shoulder, and I try to clutch everything before anyone could set his eyes on my sugarcoated shabby state; but my usual flinching attempt to start off a productive day fell into nothing but another snooze tied to the blankets. Do you just get to that point wherein one more fall into the ground won’t make you feel a thing anymore? I can’t believe how 2 months can bring such changes in one’s life. Today marks the 6th day of contemplating whether I’ve made the right acceptance of my fate or not and the 2nd month of trying to keep my sane despite the shitty disposition. It’s like a weight drops into my stomach the moment I have decided to lose grip on one of my burdens.
I never intended to hold grunges when I came here as much as how I’ve never wanted to see the sordidness some people can blow off rampantly. Maybe this is really an accent to accept the bumpy lane as I embrace a new rougher one.
Sometimes, silence is enough. The kind of quiet that keeps two feet tucked under the cushion and arms comfortably streched, looking for the warmth lying upon the sheets. Sometimes, you will find yourself immersed in the calmness of a person for reasons you could not yet understand—and that’s when you know you’re in a good kind of high.

Your “I prefer girls who’d rather wear just tshirt and jeans” won’t stop me from wearing colorful dresses and shoes that complement them. I understand you have preferences, everyone does, but if those choices of yours only aim to change who I am, what I wear, what I like and everything I do, for your eyes and convenience, then I am not the girl you are looking for. What I do is for myself. What I wear is for my comfort, not for your eyes. What I like is what I like and for me to enjoy and not to impress you. This is not me saying women don’t have to listen to men’s opinions. This is me saying that women have choices and these choices aren’t always for your convenience. We are humans, too. We get to decide what we want for ourselves keeping in mind that there should be respect between us. This is me asking you not to change us because of your preferences, but asking you to understand us and the fact that we need to grow up having choices for ourselves for us to learn, the same way you guys have, too. Thank you.
