yes I “ship” them lol as asinine as it is in theory that they could ever have been lovers, but it’s a fun idea…like maybe you could pretend they were before the war and all that, which makes the anger Jasper has for Rose that much more deep and practically profound lol! Oh the DRAma! 😂💖

I’ve never drawn a gay picture before, I wasn’t intending to draw them in this particular style but as I was sketching out their poses together, I couldn’t help myself, I wanted to draw them as if they belonged on the cover of an old fashioned Harliquin romance novel, they look so PRETTY together, such gorgeous contrasts.

Jasper and Lapis have awesome visual contrasting too, I also love that shipping. maybe I’ll draw them together in the future.

you know way back in the day I actually looked into illustrating romance novel covers, but since photography has pretty much dominated that market, there was no work to be had.

This…Could be better. Ah well it’s good enough.

So uh, ever since ‘Earthlings’, I’ve been believing that the song, 'Everybody’s Fool’ by Evanescence, is pretty fitting for Jasper. These aren’t all the lyrics, but I did put in the lyrics I think for Jasper the most. Seriously, think about it.

'Perfect by nature’; Jasper was made in the Kindergarten, which is on Earth in and on Earth ground and soil. According to Peridot, Jasper’s hole is perfect. COMPLETELY perfect. This implies that Jasper was made to be 'The Perfect Quartz.’ The perfect warrior. Perfect in every single way. She HAS to be perfect.

'No flaws while you’re pretending’; Jasper was made to be absolutely perfect, so she can’t have flaws. Otherwise, she’ll be imperfect. It’s clear that she does have flaws, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she hid all of her flaws from the everyone around her, especially Homeworld gems and the Diamonds. God forbid if the Diamonds found out that Jasper, the Perfect Quartz, has flaws.

'You don’t know how you betrayed me’; Betrayal must have been the biggest emotion Jasper felt, and still feels, when Rose shattered Pink Diamond and started the rebellion.

'You’re not real and you can’t save me’; I don’t think Jasper believes that anybody can save her. She did refuse help from Steven. Possibly one of the reasons being she believes she can’t be saved. Not just from becoming corrupted, but from herself.

'Somehow now you’re everybody’s fool’; She’s fooled everybody. Everyone believes that she is indeed 'The Perfect Quartz.’ But…She’s far from perfect. She is not flawless in every way.

Okay can we please talk about this? Look at Jasper’s face. Her expression. When watching it listen to the tone of her voice. When I watched it myself I swear I heard many emotions coming from her voice.

Pain. Sadness. Betrayal. Loss. (Feel free to add more that can’t come to my mind.)

This is the first time we’ve ever seen Jasper express such emotions. This alone can and likely mean that all that anger and hate is caused from the very possible pain she felt and got inflicted with in her past. And since Jasper had once respected Rose, it’s possible that they may have been close at one point. Furthermore it’s possible that Jasper may have liked liked Rose, but that’s up for debate.

Overall, this whole moment was emotional and gave strong feels to many fans, especially Jasper fans.
