With the start of summer comes the start of tourist season, and with that comes more reservations at the restaurant. And as I’m sure you all can guess, more reservations means longer hours in the kitchen. I am exhausted. But, on a lighter note, I got an offer from a friend from culinary school to go into business together. He wants to open a restaurant, but feels it would be easier with a partner, and he asked me! He said my talent is the best and he only wants to work with the best. I am honestly so floored and excited.

IT’S OVER! Well technically it isn’t over but the semester is so close to over that it might as well be and all of my teachers were talking about wanting to see what I did with my life post-graduation so I’m going to go ahead and assume that I passed and I’m going to graduate and I CAN BREATHE AGAIN! Maybe sleep. For days. Not literal days but for a lot of days and - I am so sorry for once again rambling your ears off.

So for one of my final papers, I have to an essay on the most inspirational musician who inspired us the most to become songwriters and musician. First, I was about to write about Billy Joel and how he inspired me to become a songwriter but then I picked the late Prince because he inspired me as well. Then some blow said the only reason why I picked him because of what happened. Can someone pick their favorite singer/song writer because they look up to them and how they paved the way for artists today along with inspiring someone to do the same? Or does it have to be automatically go straight to the obvious answer and be arses about things?

You will! It’s definitely exciting - it’s huge news, even life-altering in some ways. Alton Brown is my favorite but I’m a sucker for the “delicious food made much healthier” shows. Hungry Girl is up there on the list too. The Food Network and the Cooking Channel were my favorites.

It’s definitely life-altering, you’re now gonna have two little lives to take care of, not just your own. I love butter and delicious carbs too much to make anything healthier. Oops. We didn’t have the Cooking Channel when I was growing up, so I was just stuck with Food Network, but I learned a lot from it.

Really?! I’ve met a few! They’re really sweet and i’ll have to introduce you. A few of them are former study buddies and one of them I met while doing a group project. You are going to get the biggest hug I’ve given anyone in a loooong long time. You’re one of the lucky ones. When learning is more of a reward than a punishment then you want to do it ALL THE TIME, and it’s so much easier to pass your classes.

On top of the amazing week it’s already been thanks to Jensen and Collin, and Parker coming back… I got a job offer for a company that I’ve been gunning for. Still hesitant to accept anything until I actually walk across the stage, but I’m getting even more excited (and ready to be done) by the minute.

So, uh, baby showers.

How does one go about planning them? Does the father-to-be plan them or does the mother or is it someone else entirely? When do they usually take place? Are you required to ask for gifts or is that optional? How in the world is this more stressful than putting a crib together??

Okay, baby, first thing - breathe. I’ve been to plenty of baby showers so I’ll give you the run down. Pick a store that offers registries, I suggest Target or Baby’s-R-Us, create one and then add the things you want for the babies to it. When inviting guests let them know where you’re registered and what name it’s under so they can find it. As for planning the event, it’s usually done by the mother or other family of the mom-to-be. If that’s no an option, a friend could do. Some people wait until the sixth or seventh month, but if you’re having twins, those babies are comin’ sooner, so I’d get on that. If you two need any help, lemme know. I can cater, help plan, anything you need, baby.
