Merry Christmas my love || Simby
ruby-vandenburg:
Lights dimmed, curtains still halfway closed so they’d be hidden from the world, the heater burning and the Christmas music playing, she suddenly found the holidays not so bad. If it meant coziness and warmth and being around her lover; she couldn’t complain. Sure, she still thought the holidays simply existed for people to go out and buy more stuff, but the presents she had bought weren’t just like any other present, they came from her heart and that was the reason there was a smile on her face. Because to her it wasn’t just an object her lover got to unwrap, but her love. Getting to see a somewhat different side of her. Ruby’s grin only widened at the huff she received, teeth revealing when she saw skilled hands unwrap the first present, eyes showing joy through the fact she tried to be done with her. The personal trainer laughing along, she wrapped her fingers around the one Simone pointed at her and softly bit at the tip before pressing a soft kiss. ‘’Mmm I’m gonna need to think about that, honestly. Might as well change right before we leave to your work,’’ she grinned teasingly. Two could play the constant teasing game. When Simone had opened the next present, she couldn’t help but bite her lower lip at the idea the chef shared with her. ‘’I already can’t wait.’’ The image of them relaxing on either the couch or on pillows on the ground, candles lighting the place together with the fireplace, both holding a glass of wine and sharing seductive words with a chuckle or two, before the taste of wine would be shared by the contact of soft lips on soft lips. But that was a trail of thought she had only vanished into for short - before another memory took over and she relived the moment when she had driven up to their gays friend’s house to pick up the order she had requested from Paulie.
‘Avocados for Christmas? Who gives avocados for Christmas? Ofcourse only lesbians would,’ Paulie mused heavier in a higher voice than usual, which got Ruby to roll her eyes visibly for her lover’s best friend. ‘Oh stop it Paulie, or do I need to remember you how you literally got me bananas for my birthday three years ago? And they weren’t even wrapped.’ Chris said as he was handing the crate over to the personal trainer, Paulie huffing in the meantime.‘‘Besides, this is for a good cause, Simone will love this, you got no idea what my plan is.’‘ Ruby pointed her finger at the dark haired and taller guy, then lifted the crate into her car. ‘Why of all redheaded personal trainers she chose you, I have no idea.’ This causing Chris to turn around with a much offended expression written on his face, he was about to say something, but Paulie got ahead of him, ‘you don’t get to say anything Chris, we got at least three ginger guys in our contact list.’ In which Chris just stared at her with a face like he was on The Office, ‘yah, and they’re all gay Paulie.’
Simone’s cry for God made her burst out into laughter after the small distraction, really, the way she expressed joy in literally any way was what got to Ruby’s heart so badly, that for a moment she wasn’t able to reply. ‘’—Yes! When I told you I was a personal trainer, you said the only thing you’d ever run for was a crate of amazing avocados, so hereby I present to you - hopefully - the most delicious one ever grown.’’ Another soft angelic laugh left her lips, soon she regained herself as she hoped her last present would be at least okay. At least the gold was real. The heart just wasn’t. But when her fiance moved to put it around her neck, Ruby couldn’t help but swallow an invisible lump in her throat at the image of Simone appreciating her love so much, there wasn’t even one word backtalk about her presents. Tears building in her eyes, she tried to blink them away - hoping the dimmed lights would cover for her, excuses already popping up in her mind. Yet, she didn’t need to spill one of them, as her fiance came closer and the personal trainer got to watch those beautiful blue eyes of hers, drown in them as they made her heart float right inside her chest, the feeling of lips upon hers making her whimper softly in surrender. And when her lips moved to her cheek, nose and more places on her face, the redhead was unable to keep her big smile in and just giggle in her embrace. ‘’I love you just as much, if not more,’’ she breathed, a raspy tone mixing into her voice. Moving her eyes from left to right, just to take in her fiance’s beauty, revel in the way her voice sounded - that made her forget about her demons every single time she spoke. To think about just one thing. Was this how she was supposed to feel during Christmas? Because in all those years the holiday had passed in her life, she had never experienced a feeling that even came close to this. And when Simone told her she loved her more than anything - anyone else, she guiltily moved back just that little bit so she could reach for the last gift she had kept in her bra. ‘’You nearly made me forget about this one,’’ the purple envelope dressed with a cute ribbon contained a couple card to visit a spa and do anything they wanted, for a whole day. ‘’Go on, unwrap it. I’m sure you’ll love it,’’ her rosy cheeks popped more up as she showed a smile that was both innocent yet so guilty at the same time.
Simone’s eyes watched as Ruby wrapped her pale fingers around the one she pointed at the girl. Then she watched as the redhead grazed the tip with her teeth and followed the action with a gentle kiss. And she could do nothing more than stare. But the chef, in all her public figure glory, recovered and whispered with awe, “You are the most charming person I have ever met.” She had forgotten the teasing game altogether in the midst of falling in love with the other woman even more - a habit she found herself doing nearly every day, as impossible as she once thought that was. “I really don’t know what I’d do if you ever left me,” she hummed as an afterthought, but upon realizing its heaviness, humored the redhead to move past the small admission, “I’d probably marry Elvis.” The cat in question meowed when his name was spoken, slipping quickly underneath the living room table and annoying them for attention. No doubt for the treat he had not yet received. Simone rolled her eyes and laughed, finding Madonna nestled nearby when the black cat went over to playfully wrestle with her. Of course, the princess was having none of that and laid there motionless so he’d eventually leave her be. Agreeing with Ruby, the brunette began to picture the wine date and found herself wanting it more. Then again, anything that involved wine was a favored event.
After showering the girl in kisses and receiving a ‘love you more’ from her, Simone clucked her tongue in opposition, “Not possible.” And she honestly believed it couldn’t be. Noticing the slight tearing up on her fiancee’s part, the older woman playfully reassured her, “Don’t worry. I won’t marry Elvis. I think he’s more in love with himself than me.” Again, she was surprised when Ruby pulled out yet another present. It had to have been a note or a card, because the envelope could not fit anything more than that. Taking the envelope, Simone squinted over at the redhead before tearing open the top and withdrawing the couple card to a spa. Her lips twitched into a warm smile as she skimmed it, reading the fine print and all the amenities the spa had to offer. Finally, she slipped it back into the envelope and put it down casually on the table. Immediately after, she made quick eye contact with the girl before pushing her back onto the couch with a free laugh, “Thank you, babygirl!” Again, her go-to torture was kisses on the face and a few timed tickles to the girl’s sides, “Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank. You. Thank you. I love the gifts!” It was enough to send the poor thing into a frenzy. Something the brunette evilly delighted in.
Deciding to spare the trainer mercy, she pulled back now to widen her eyes briefly, “Now it’s time for my gifts. Pretend you like them, ‘cause they’re definitely not as good as yours. Next year, I’ll do better.” She offered a wink before sliding up to grab a few by the tree, giving them over and sitting beside her fiancee again. The first gift would be the gag gift. The one for jokes, and no doubt something Ruby would roll her eyes at. It was a significant amount of sunscreen bottles and sunglasses carefully placed on top. “For our trips,” Simone said with a small smirk, adding onto her tease, “Or for extended periods of time in the backyard.” She had seen when Ruby didn’t pay attention to her pale and freckled skin. and she worried. The second gift was two parts fit for her gym lifestyle: earbuds that were as high-tech and indestructible as they came, and a few pairs of workout outfits. The third gift was something Simone debated on getting in the first place - uncertain if she was spending too much. She never wanted to make feel Ruby uncomfortable with money, and it was clear she enjoyed spoiling the girl. But it was always an iffy thing, one which the well known chef walked on eggshells for. Still, she noted aloud, “This next one I can’t exactly show you right now. But later on we can go see it in person, if you want it. It’s sorta for us both, but you can decide if we should return it...” Scrunching her nose sheepishly, she handed over her phone to present the most expensive gift. “I just figured...” she began guiltily, “that with all of our traveling, this would save us some money. So it was a good buy. And reasonably priced. Among the cheaper models - but safe! Always safe.”
The last gift was one to lower the excitement, but return to the real meaning behind Christmas. Not money, but company. Quality time spent with the ones you loved. Simone hoped Ruby would like it, and hoped there’d be more ornaments to come in their future. “Is it alright? I thought maybe we could put it on the tree...to make it official.”
“Hey,” the way too excited redhead whispers into her lover’s ear, as she tried to contain her happiness with everything she could, but the second Simone’s eyes opened she got on top of her and pinned her down. “It’s your birthday! Aaaaah,” she squealed softly into her lover’s hair as the redhead, who was just dressed in a tanktop, hugged the chef as tight as she could. “Which means I get to embarrass you all day as much as I want!” The personal trainer chuckled, her voice usually raspy in the early morning but right now it sounded as high as a kite. As if she had been injected a ton of sugar, which she wasn’t supposed to have. “I got you a big present, do you wanna open it?” She whispered, more giggly, as she already knew what it was. “It’s not big as in a fridge, but it’s big in a different way,” Ruby then climbed off the bed, giving Simone time to recover from the redhead’s attack, stumbled nearly to the floor but was capable of keeping her balance as she went over to the drawer they kept their jewelry. Fishing out the envelope, she got back over to the bed and hopped onto her side of the bed, crossing her legs as she presented the simple piece of paper yet expensive to the brunette. “It’s very precious, so please be careful, though I totally know you are,” she came close to hand over the envelope to her fiance, before stealing a kiss from her as well. As she waited for her love to open up the envelope, for the tickets to be revealed, she then softly squealed again, not even loud enough to provoke Elvis. “I bought us cruise tickets through Europe! Look, we’re going to France, Italy, Italy and once again Italy, Spain and then Portugal in July! We got a suite with a balcony and it’ll be summer! You get to chill in the sun and I will have to wear all the straw hats, can you imagine?” The redhead’s smile was as big as could be, her laughter lines showing deeply. “Happy birthday, my love, I shall save you the singing, cause I know how much you hate my singing voice,” she laughed, only to save herself from singing as she kissed her lover’s hands, went up all the way before stealing another kiss again. “Now we gotta hurry up, Paulie’s got a surprise party planned I swore not to tell, but it’s gonna be very cliche, so I’m telling you anyway.”
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS: RUBY VANDENBURG
The restaurant’s rooftop oversees all that is London, and the city is alive tonight. Below in the streets, people walk to and from shopping centers. Cars sometimes honk but the sound is muted by distance and table chatter. Sunset hues play through the windowed walls, highlighting the buildings that reach towards the sky. It sets the perfect mood for the end of a good day. Simone stands up after having gotten everyone’s attention. She looks around at the familiar pairs of eyes staring back. They are ones all too fond of the redheaded woman that sits beside her, whose own green eyes lift up with curiosity. The brunette begins her speech with a quick joke: ‘don’t worry, this won’t take as long as my proposal.’ Knowing all too well of the special occasion, they laugh. Comforted by the warmth of the room, she continues...
“January 12th, 1988.
Just a normal, boring day. I was...thirteen at the time? Sound right?” Everyone grins. She waves her hand away as if the age gap is nothing. It isn’t; not to them and not to their loved ones. “Yeah, most definitely a normal, boring day. Or so my teenage arse thought. Because...” The chef’s blue gaze wanders back to her fiancee’s, and she is always struck by how beautiful the girl is. And the look she receives in return. “That was the day you forever changed my life - even if you were miles and miles away. And, understandably, screaming your head off in the infirmary. Those lungs are still grade A by the way, hun.” An eruption of snickers come from their audience. Paulie says a joke of his own to cause more, but what he says exactly is lost on her own hearing. She only rolls her eyes knowing how her dear friend behaves.
“I know I don’t speak for myself when I say that you are the light of our lives. You keep us in shape. From working us out until we think we’re going to die, or making us laugh so hard our stomach muscles are in pain.. You have blessed us with 30 years of impossibilities. From burning simple food creations, to knocking down vases, to tripping on your own two feet in public, and well need I go on?” She smirks over at the love of her life, until her expression softens again. “But the one impossible thing I cannot ever begin to understand is... How are you so perfect despite all of these things? So much so that we all are head over heels in love with you, Ruby Vandenburg. Because it really is a mystery to me.” There’s a line of smiles, a few nods in agreement, and a tear or two from their sensitive guests.
“I know you hate celebrating birthdays. I know I’ve dragged you around today from one place to the next. But I want you to know the reason why I refuse to let you live this day like all the others.. Because this is the day that you came into the world and made your friends and real family the happiest people on Earth. You really have. We are so grateful for every year you are here, and we cheer tonight for every year you continue to gift us with memories we will treasure. We love you, Ruby.” She takes time to lower her voice to the redhead, “And I love you the most.” Her smile deepens to show it before carrying on louder with a raise her glass, “Now, let’s toast! Happy Birthday, Ruby!”
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RUBY!” they sing in unison.
Blackpink Tv Ep.01
I’m not the girl your mother warns you about. I won’t kiss your best friend or break your heart. I won’t make you choose between what you love to do & me. I’m not cold. I’m not reckless. I will love you more than anything. I will kiss you when you cry. I will stand by your side until you decide otherwise.
