Is appearance everything?

One of the phenomenon that I've seen while living in China is the amount of time certain people take selfies and pictures of oneself and each other.  I, myself, love taking pictures with my camera and consider it a hobby, but I at least only take pictures of things that I actually enjoy...

Today, while working on the charity web site at Zoo Coffee (nice and quiet during the day), I see 2 women sit at a large table across from me.  They only have 1 mug of coffee whatever drink... what was interesting is that they proceeded to take selfies and pictures of each other for the next 40 minutes.  Posing with the mug of coffee and the stuff animals all around the coffee shop.  Seriously, they walked around the coffee shop and posed near all sorts of signs and objects (including standing next to my table and posing near the Zoo Coffee sign)....  made me a little uncomfortable but amused at the same time.

Here's is the kicker... do you think they really enjoyed being there or were they just taking pictures to post on Social Media sites stating how "much fun" they had at this cool coffee shop?!?!?!  Lol.  During the whole 40 minutes, I did not see them take a sip of the coffee at all.  They then packed away their things, tapped at their phones for 2-3 minutes and left.

Sorry about that.  I'm sure nobody is even reading this now.  Haha.  Anyways, still in GZ but I think our time here may be ending sooner than later.  Will try to keep this updated from now on...

Went to Ocean Park for the first time yesterday... Overrun by "tourists" and super super hot. Funny conversation of the lady buying a bowl of noodles in front of us... First of all, the lady was yakking on the phone instead of paying... The chef puts her bowl of noodles on the counter and she gets off her phone and digs through her bag to pay... Cashier girl: "it's 78 hkd" Woman: I want more noodles in it... Cashier girl turns and ask the chef who is leaning back on the counter and asked... Chef: "NO". Woman: proceeds to mumble "why can't I get more noodles and blah blah blah. As we listen to this... I almost wanted to point out to the woman that's it's Quick counter service and not a freakin buffet. You want more noodles.., buy another bowl!

Haven't posted in a long time, but we are on an R&R long weekend. Staying at a new boutique hotel in Central. Very very nice place. Love the room decos.

Went to the Westin for their seafood buffet. Pretty good, typical of big hotels. I actually ate desserts for once.

Went to Tokyo Disney first... Love holidays at Disney as they really go all out with the lights and decorations.

It's that time of the year... to make one or our home leave trips back to Chicago.  This time, we will be celebrating Xmas/New Years with family and friends.

But first, we are stopping over in Tokyo for 3 short days.  Nope, not to see the city (which we've done before), but to check out Tokyo Disney and all the Xmas decorations!  I think it's going to be packed like sardines, but should be interesting and fun to see the Japanese twist on Disney...
