Chelsea Hopkins Illustration

Chelsea grew up in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. She is currently based in Swansea. Chelsea always knew she wanted to go into an artistic field, so when her year 7 art teacher suggested Illustration, the idea was perfect. Her work revolves around her interests, mythology, creatures, celtic lore and the odd car. Animals and monsters always found their way into her sketchbooks and have followed her to where she is now. She loves bold lines and strong colours, often using a brush and inks or an old dip-pen for detail. This love of strong shapes flows over into her digital work, where colour can take over from line. Chelsea is inspired by the world around her, she also enjoys the fluidity of animals in motion and the way colour plays in the sky during the evenings. Although creatures feature heavily in her work, she also has a passion for classic cars and enjoys drawing the smooth yet harsh shapes of mechanical motion in contrast to the usual flowing lines of life. Some Cwn Annwn for this fine evening. The story goes that their barks get quieter the closer they are to you, and that they hunt as a pack in order to bring people and spirits into the afterlife.

Sometimes using a photograph you have taken yourself and processing it through the use of photoshop's filters and then tweaking the result by hand to remove badly processed/filtered areas is the best way to go.

I would never, ever recommend you do this if you have not taken the photograph yourself, as this can result in all sorts of terrible copyright muddles.
