   “ …you’re KIDDING. ” faux surprise in his voice accompanied with a dramatic gasp. in all honesty, he’d gotten seriously addicted to the show.     “ but that’s too long to wait !! why can’t they have all the episodes at once like netflix ?? ”

          “ that, my dear, is how life worked BEFORE the lovely invention of netflix! ” she’s chuckling, fingertips running against the inside fabric of his jacket before finding their way up along with the rest of her hands -- laying still when they find his shoulders.

          she’s kneeling in the bushes, sorting all the traps in the bag before her. “ if your parents suspect anything though, just... tell them we were doing a science project! it’s not like you’re lying. are we missing anything? ” referring to anything else that mohini may be worried about.

        the boy listens, smiling a bit at the way she manages to explain the movies. when he’d heard they were going to have a movie night based on halloween, he was gearing himself up for BLOOD and gore and whatever else. but THIS is a nice surprise. ❝ ahhh, i think i get it now. cool. so it’s like watching casper, the friendly ghost? ❞ one movie he actually has seen, and can compare them to. he doesn’t have a preference either way, so her suggestion makes it easy to choose. ❝ halloweentown it is then. ❞ peter agrees, offering the girl a grin. ❝ but more importantly… do we have halloween candy to EAT while we watch halloween movies?! ❞

          “ precisely! ” disc is put in in the place of the last one and she’s on to the couch until his question stops her. she had almost forgot! a smirk with slight teeth showing, hands on her hips.

          " WOULD IT BE HALLOWEEN IF WE DIDN’T? ” she’s walking across the living area to grab a large pail of candy, some of which her mom saved for trick-or-treaters -- but, never noticed if she ate some either way. the container is set in his lap with ease before the small girl plops herself right next to him. a smile is thrown right back to him, back into the cushion. “ you ready for one of the absolute best movies you’ve ever seen? ” of course, she’s exaggerating.

        admittedly, peter hasn’t seen EITHER of the movies she’s holding. he likes halloween as much as the next person, but he definitely doesn’t have halloween movie marathons. and the first time he ever carved a pumpkin was in gabriella’s presence, when he’d EMBARRASSED himself by slicing his hand open. ❝ sooo… neither of those are REALLY scary? ❞ his brows furrow, looking at each movie as he tries to make his choice. ❝ what’s the point of watching ‘em if they aren’t scary? ❞ he wonders aloud, although he’s still very much looking FORWARD to the night that lay ahead. strange halloween movies or not, he’s determined to make it a good night no matter what. 

          “ hmm.. you actually don’t have too bad of a point there! ”

          “ they make the not-so-scary ones for kids and... teenagers who are too scared to watch the scary ones.” that was a tongue twister. “ they’re... SPOOKY without the scare! it’s like... getting you ready for the real thing, you know? ” a quick bend of her back to press the eject button of the dvd player, her eyes watch as it spits out the disc that was already there. “ i personally recommend halloweentown, though. it’s kinda relatable and super funny. ”
