Intro post!!

Hi!! I go by a few names in different apps but on here you may call be Cherish or Charlie! I’m transmasc, Pansexual and Demiromantic! I may occasionally post little things about some of my ocs, rants about characters, games, films, series or books I like and I honestly just wanna find people with similar interests to me :> In future I may post a list of different fandoms I’m involved in but for now I’m just going to leave people with this intro post so thank you for now and any future occurrences where you willingly read my yappings <3

I feel like Wendy is AMAZING representation of the sexist views people have in media when it comes to men and women. Both in universe and a few times from people online, I’ve seen people talk about how much they hate Wendy (pre s2 ep4) because of how she acts but when you look at it, SHE IS RIGHT WHEN SHE COMPLAINS ABOUT THE DIFFERENCES OF HOW PEOPLE TREAT HER!!!

There are countless times where people who watch the series admire Rev for how he acts (don’t get me wrong I love Rev sm) but will hate Wendy?? Like I get the entire summoning an eldritch being just to kill Rev but this was even happening BEFORE that. And even now when Rev is working with a being just like that to take down Vivianna (like how Wendy was doing with Rev) people still love him! There are ofc times where people (in series) get annoyed at Rev eg. Blowing up the school at the start of season 2, but when everyone in the series just ganged up against her after they were told she killed someone AS IF THERE ARENT OTHER CHARACTERS WHO HAVE ACTIVELY KILLED it’s suddenly an issue?? Idk this just annoyed me but god I love Wendy sm she’s genuinely one of the most interesting characters in the show. AND MARK FOR ACTUALLY BEING NICE TO HER like I got so happy when he asked her to join the club like yes let her be happy and actually included 🥹🥹🥹

But yeah just wanted to rant about this and if anyone hasn’t watched FreakShow and still read this (despite my warning at the start 😡😡 /silly) I really recommend it :3

I actually have a lot to say about this! I think its really ironic how the freakshow fandom will praise all the men (markrev being the most popular ship on ao3 despite them having such little scenes together) and I do believe its purely because theyre both men who have a appeasing dysnmic without much sauce. Its pretty much just yaoi purely made by the fan base with little Canon content.

On that note while Wendy is a victim of misongy with the fandom, Mary and Bella also are extremely hated on for similar reasons. People hate them for being "annoying" and I spectically remember Bella was hated a LOT for "getting in the way of MarkRev"

Bella isnt my favorite, I think she has writing issues, but the hatred for her is so extreme. I remember when episode 6 came out, so many people blamed her for the incident. I remember around episode 3, people called Bella a bitch and stuck up. People hate Mary for similar reasons, for being "annoying' and too romantic to Rev.

Which. This is funny because Rexiipher pushes that Rev is a bad person and Bella/Other characters arent wrong for reactong to him negatively. And yet sooo many people GLAZE Rev, Mark, and the like 3 other male characters while barely giving any of the female characters room to be flawed.

LITERALLY!!! Like Mary for instance is genuinely one of my favourite characters in the series and her reasons for liking Rev in the first place are so developed but people just water her character down to a “A random girl obsessed with Rev” which annoys me SO much. Like I can guarantee if Mary was a male character people would immediately be shipping her with Rev :/

Of course Mary herself isn’t necessarily a good person but I’ve still seen her get so much unnecessary hate for something a male character would be loved and admired for.

AND THE WAY PEOPLE ACT WITH BELLA OMDSSS!! I’ve seen people say she’s clingy and stuff like that with Rev but then they’ll proceed to say how much they love the relationship between him and Mark? 😭 The double standards people have with women my GOD can people leave my lovelies alone :C
