Getting diagnosed with adhd was awkward as hell because i did it through a video call with a Brazilian doctor because my mom doesn't trust American doctors and she was scary as hell and my mother was there and she wouldn't let me talk but I'll always remember it very fondly because the doctor asked me "so why do you think you have adhd" and I stuttered all the reasons in my sad, unused Portuguese and it looked like she was having none of it until I mentioned "oh yeah and I've been obsessed with the 1998 version of the powerpuff girls cartoon since I was eight and it still hasn't gone away and that show has become such am essential part of my life I would be a completely different person without it so I think that's a hyperfixation" and before I could get into exactly why it was specifically the 1998 version she IMMIDIQTELY said "okay let's talk about medication options"
