“Right, was it your bitter charm or the bow and arrow? One might never know.” He said with a sigh. He couldn’t really expect much else from her, threats were one thing that everyone seemed to have against them, it didn’t matter who you were at this point.”Yeah, well, if it where me I’d actually use the Ghoulies as targets. One less running the streets couldn’t be the worst thing.”
it was almost funny for cheryl to think back, and reflect on this same group of people who she had once despised with every fiber in her being, now being those who had shown her acceptance despite their circumstances. of course, cheryl was still cheryl, and although she was grateful to be a part of a community, she wouldn’t be baring her soul any time soon. “not a bad idea, serpent chum.” cheryl loved causing an uproar, and at the expense of their common enemies, it did seem favorable. “as much as i’d love to wreak havoc, i’ll save my efforts for if there need be a provoked strike.” they weren’t barbarians, and stirring up conflict for mere target practice was deemed unworthy in cheryl’s mind to instigate a full-fledged war. “for now, that is.”

josie hummed as she walked through the woods, tapping her pencil on her notebook. she had a killer case of writers block and was getting absoluteness nothing out of sitting in her room all day trying to come up with inspo to finish her next song. she had a melody down but wanted to find a better way to make her lyrics flow. she froze when she heard a familiar voice calling out to her. josie came up from behind the tree and almost dropped her notebook seeing cheryl holding the arrow. “good lord cheryl!” josie exhaled and put her hand over her heart. “remind me never to get on your bad side.”
upon hearing a familiar voice respond to her own, cheryl immediately lowered her bow. “josie, i didn’t mean to scare you.” she tucked her arrow away and reverted her attention back to the girl. “i didn’t expect anyone to be out here. especially not you, actually. what brings you here?” cheryl walked in josie’s direction. “smart girl.” she noted in response to josie’s ‘bad side’ comment. cheryl knew she had an intimidating presence that could be used to her advantage, and though she had no desire to unnerve josie, it was in her nature to want to keep the upper hand.

‘Honor? Well, I’m not here to see you so calm down, red.” He said with a raised brow as he watched the close call of an arrow come by and pitch into the tree. If he didn’t know about Cheryl’s dead aim he probably would have thrown a fit. “I was just on a run and happened to recognize that hair of yours, I get curious is all.” He said leaning against a tree with a shrug. They weren’t close at all, but she was a Serpent and he would always respect that, even if he had to at least be civil with her. “Is this practice for any particular target in mind?”
Cheryl tilted her head. “Curiosity killed the cat, but I can’t blame you for succumbing to my allure.” Cheryl never really spoke to Sweet Pea unless it was absolutely necessary, but she didn’t have anything against him or any of the serpents who were willing to take her in as one of their own. “How could I ever pick from the proliferating list of threats to my life? Ghoulies, perhaps.”

“Don’t sound too excited to see me,” Toni joked. She nodded watching the girl retrieving the arrow, understanding the need. “Anything heavy on your mind?” she asked. Toni had been pretty MIA with her friend and felt bad about it, especially if someone was going on that she could have helped with. “I’m sure there’s something you can come up with in that brain of yours, Cher, but you know with all the Ghoulie crap going around you shouldn’t be out here alone.”
“Better you than anyone who would pose a real threat to me.” Cheryl teased before shrugging. “If I’m being honest, with the chaos that is my life, I just felt like I needed to be in control of something.” Cheryl felt the words come out of her mouth before she could think to put up a facade and pretend she wasn’t feeling like everything in her life was up in the air. Toni was a good friend, and someone Cheryl knew she could confide in. Nevertheless, the redhead reverted back to putting on a brave face. “I can manage on my own.”

Toni hadn’t given up her late night wandering sessions just because she was on the Northside now. It just meant more time to herself to appreciate everything around her, unfortunately without her camera to capture it all. As she made her way through the area she could hear the wind passing faster every other second and knew exactly what it was. “Calm down, Hunger Games, it’s just me,” Toni greeted making her way through the leaves. “I thought I heard you shooting over here…” She moved to lean back against the tree, crossing her arms and giving the girl a soft smile. “You actually gonna hit the smallest target? Here I was thinking you aimed for bigger fish,” Toni grinned.
Cheryl’s gaze followed the smaller figure as it came out from behind the tree directly in line with her arrow. Once she saw a familiar face come around into her line of sight, she relaxed and let out a breath she wasn’t aware she had been holding as she lowered her bow. “Oh? Toni, hi.” She began walking towards a different tree to retrieve an arrow she had shot earlier and turned back towards Toni. “I was just clearing my head.” She walked over to the tree where the girl stood. “And making jokes at your own expense? What am I left to work with?”

Sweets found the now cool of winter the best time to run, it was brisk and the burning in his lungs was the more driving part to keep him going even if his legs began to ache. It wasn’t long though as he recognize a very iconic shade of red between some of the trees and only as curious to know what she was doing he jogged off the path and came out of the tree line only to surrender with his hands in the air.
“Watch it, Robin hood.” He said clearly with a pant still as his breath caught up to him. “You’re about to shoot my damn eye out with that thing.”
Cheryl’s heart raced in the moments leading up to the reveal of the stranger coming out from behind the tree. She tensed up before seeing that it was Sweet Pea coming around. She released her arrow and sent it flying into the tree nonetheless, and made her way over shortly after. “Serves you right for interrupting me, Tweedledee.” She plucked the arrow from the tree and placed it back into her quiver. “To what do I owe the honor?”
Cheryl’s life had always consisted of curveballs. She wanted to be able to take more control of her unpredictable life, and taking up archery was one of her methods of doing so. Cheryl had needed to blow off some steam and decided to do some target practice in the woods. A few minutes in as she drew back one of her bows, she heard a rustle coming from behind a tree. She immediately turned, bow still drawn, full attention now aimed towards the source of the sound. "Who’s there? Show yourself.”
