Regarding likes vs. rebogs: I personally don’t mind if you only like my art and choose not to reblog. Liking something is different from wanting in your personal space, and nobody owes me that. The very fact that nobody is REQUIRED to share my work with others makes it more meaningful to me when they do. It’s absolutely important to support artists you like, but not because you feel guilted into it. You don’t owe that to anybody because you’re, y’know, a human being with free will. And honestly it’s nice to have my work appreciated by others in any capacity, whether it’s just a like or a comment or a reblog - I make art for myself first and foremost so it’s wonderful to get outside validation, commentary, and criticism, however much!

If your work isn’t getting as many reblogs as you’d like, or more likes than reblogs, it’s just plain not fair to try and make others feel guilty for simply not doing something they don’t want to do. It can be frustrating, but it’s not right to take it out on others y’know? It’s not like they’re making a conscious decision to screw you out of extra exposure. It’s not an act of spite. Sometimes people just won’t think to reblog a post. All you can do is keep moving forward and not assign worth to your work based on the number of notes it gets!
