anywho got inspired by a little doodle from @/vixscribs of Mike's head and this doodle made my artblock to unblock idk for how long tho so here are the shuakes but in my attempt at Motorcity style and design
I haven't rewatched the show yet but tbh the plot isn't complete anyway so I think I can make up some bullshit about the lore as we go (it will mostly go the same route as the p5 lore just more... Sci-fi? Or something... Cars)
Akechi will have 2 more designs but we will get to that later

Akira is an escapee from the top Tokyo (what if we just use the SMTIV names for stuff for this au give me your thoughts) after he was accused of harming the vice-president of the [insert name here] Corp. - Masayoshi Shido, and everyone was out for his throat, so he fled to the bottom Tokyo where a bleached delinquent Ryuji was standing guard near one of the "entrance points" of the bottom Tokyo when he passed him on one of the emergency vehicles he stole from the top.
After a near-fight, Akira managed to explain his situation briefly, enough to satisfy the teenage grunt, who then took him to their "pit-stop" for newcomers - an open coffee-bar with an auto repair shop called Le Blanc. Sojiro was standing at the counter as usual when the two stopped by. Ryuji passed the info to him, to which the man grunted unwelcomingly and buzzed the walkie-talkie for a background check on the new boy. In the meantime, Ryuji had to return to his post, but he promised to stop by after his guard duties were over.
After a cup of coffee and a prolonged eye contact with the owner, the information he had given was confirmed by the informer, and Sojiro's gaze softened. "To think he'd still be back there causing trouble for the youth..." Sojiro mumbled to himself, before brushing off the curious and, frankly, still terrified boy. He had just left his whole 16 years behind him and came running... to this dump. The one he was warned about by the same people that exiled him.
There was nothing else to do besides exploring this newfound circumstances he'd found himself in, should he wait for that yellow-haired guy... Or try to find more trouble by himself?

Let free to roam the unknown plains of existence - she has no sense of direction aside from a vague phrase floating in her mind, slowly regaining its meaning...
Best scorpion- no, best girl-! Noo! Best scorpion-girl EVAH! Haha! This is the most recent addition to the Melodic Venture's main group, believe it or not! Her design has changed drastically throughout the development of the project, she even changed species in the process! But we'll talk about it later. For now, let's see what Najiyya is all about!
Najiyya's origins are unknown, she seem to know Japanese, and yet most of everyday life's concepts are foreign to her. She does, however, love learning about things. School, phones, people, places - while she might not be aware of how everything around her works just yet - doesn't mean that she isn't prepared to get to know it all. And surprisingly, the human mind is the only thing she has some knowledge of. As if... she's done this before. As if that's what she was made to do.
Najiyya's starting persona:
Serket
Goddess of poisons and antidotes in Egyptian Mythology. While her appearance seems to depict a water scorpion, the line between a desert scorpion has become blurred in recent times.
So unlike the other characters, who got their Personas that fit their personalities... Najiyya's design was based on my choice of her Persona, since her concept was VASTLY different and it was pretty difficult to come up with a "compact" companion for Ume. At some point I thought that Ume would have to figure out everything on her own, but... She needed that support and Serket's role in the mythos fit perfectly that it helped me solidify her on the team.
Serket's strength and weakness follow the usual rule for the Personas - her strength is Electric while her weakness is Wind. She focuses on applying ailments on enemies and removing them from allies. This quality of hers is based on Serket's mythos, that being "she who gives breath" and, given the blurred lines between a water and a desert scorpion... I think it fits her very well! The electric strength is actually pretty popular to give to spider and desert characters in media, and because I didn't have a good candidate for this element - the extra character was given that honor.
Serket's main skill trees are:
Healing skills that remove ailments (Posumudi and most -di skills)
Najiyya is a very specific character, which most people might not like, but given how important technicals in Persona 5 Royal are... Maybe she can get some good use?
And, unlike other character posts, Najiyya won't get her main outfits since... Well, she is a scorpion in the real world! (It doesn't mean she won't get more outfits later though, she can still dress up in the Metaverse!)

Oh boy, where do I even start...
To be frank, Najiyya before is a completely different character! Her name was Nayara and she was inspired by a genetical mutation of Blue Macaws, so, originally, she was supposed to be Latina instead of an Egyptian woman, and instead of a scorpion - she was a parrot.
But with the release of Persona 5: The Phantom X and Lufel being apart of the main cast, I started having doubts about it.
And, given how Riku's social link works and dress-up being quite important to Ume's characterization as a whole (which is why costume-making is even got a social link dedicated to it)... So... I did try to challenge myself to compromise Nayara's style being "Carnival of Rio de Janeiro" since most of the party members are highschoolers and I do not feel comfortable putting them in bikinis let alone (little spoiler) given that there would be adult members on the team, my brain was in "think of the children" mode for a while about Nayara's character. And, like, you can see how hard I butchered her outfit so it won't be too revealing.
Eventually, I though that this wasn't going to work with my view for this project and plus, I felt like I could never do justice to the rich Brazilian culture and the significance and beauty of Carnival of Rio de Janeiro with such self-inflicted restrictions. And, so, I changed her character to Najiyya, an Egyptian desert scorpion, which is, in fact, easier to adapt to a team of highschoolers with adult party members.
Nayara's Persona was Nephthys, mostly because she was depicted as a vulture and, since Ma'at was already taken, I thought that she would make a good replacement for a parrot's persona. Her persona was made right before the major change in Najiyya's design, so she didn't get a finished digital artwork from me.
A commonality for Nephthys and Serket is actually them being android-like personas, given the nature of Najiyya. (This could count as a spoiler, but we all know about Teddie and Morgana, and I doubt my followers are here without the knowledge of main-line games).
BUT!.. Did you know... That Nayara's design had an even more ancient design that I started during the development of the Melodic Venture concept when it was meant for my design classes?
These are just named "Mascot" since I did not have the slightest idea of what that even be! I always struggled with chibi characters and making a mascot really did give me a headache. While she was conceptualized in-between the others, she never got past this stage. This struggle is also the reason as to why Najiyya's Metaverse form is that of a human with a scorpion tail (there is more to her character now, but it will be discussed later in the story!).
And lastly, here is the first sketch of Serket, since it was the latest conceptualized persona in the design cycle.
Saitou Riku is quite an interesting fella. He seems to be happy and yet... You can't shake off the feeling that something serious is troubling him. You wonder, what that could be.

Persona: Melodic Venture! (part 1)
To celebrate my birthday, I've decided to do something big and - this was it! I do want to apologize as I couldn't really finish everything I planned for the release, but! It's not going to go to waste!
I do have an announcement. I will be doing a Persona: Melodic Venture BTS video that I should finish in a few more days. I want YOU to leave your asks in the ask box regarding the story and its characters. I will answer them in the video to the best of my abilities (and how much the story permits me!)
