Indefinite Hiatus - Start

Dear everyone, as announced before, I have now answered all remaining asks in my inbox and shall now enter an indefinite hiatus.

I will come back eventually, I just don't know when exactly. Before I leave however, I wish to send my special thanks to:

One person told me a few months ago they ordered a DVD, and I promised them the subtitles for it upon arrival. In such cases I shall answer.

In cases where people report art or subtitles-theft, I shall respond. (Hopefully that won't be necessary though)

Some other imminent messages... which I shall take the liberty to decide whether to reply or not.

Heyy Grandpa Sebastian, do you eat only human souls, or do you also eat human flesh like Claude?

I am not sure who 'Claude' is, anonymous stranger, so I cannot make a comparison between that person and myself. Speaking purely for myself, I do not make a habit out of consuming human flesh, although sometimes it is the easiest disposal method, as it were, when one is dealing with an inconvenient human corpse, so the taste is not unfamiliar to me.

Sebastian, you say that fear makes human flesh taste bland. I was under the impression that you only ate souls. Do you eat human meat often? Or only as a “treat”?

I would not call it a treat, anonymous stranger. Human souls are what I need to sustain myself. The physical form is not of interest to me for its flavour, although I have 'disposed' of enough humans to discern the fact that their flavour can be thoroughly spoiled by certain emotions. I understand that this is the same for the animals that you humans consume.

I am not of any human nationality, anonymous stranger. I am, however, currently in service to a British master, and as such I have made sure to adjust my mannerisms and behaviour to the society around me so as not to raise undue suspicion.

Sebastian, do you feel any remorse or pity for those humans that you ate their soul? I suppose you were consuming souls without making a contract before. If someone beg me to spear them i couldnt do anything to them :(

You humans and your pity... it continues to fascinate me. A human who makes a contract with me knows what they are giving up - and if they don't, their own lack of research is to blame for this more so than anything else. Consuming their soul is my reward for serving them, the agreement made between them and myself, so it would be strange for me to feel remorse or pity for someone making this choice of their own free will. If I were to briefly entertain the notion, please consider the following. Once a contract is signed, ending said contract can only be done in very limited ways. By far the easiest of these ways is to fulfil the clauses of said contract, at which point the human who made the contract with me forfeits their soul. For me to spare them I would have to break the contract, and as that would have severe consequences for myself I do not think I would be easily persuaded to spare someone, no matter how pitiful their story. Besides this, I suspect you would find it hard to pity any human that has summoned one like me. After all, the price one pays for my services is one most humans find deplorable. To summon one such as myself, one forfeits one's right to salvation, at least in the eyes of many.

Sebastian, you called your current form "infuriating;" do you ever feel like you need to drop it for a bit and get a good long stretch in? Or is it just the woes of being at the young lord's whims until the contract is fulfilled?

My master does not like me to appear anything less than human while I am at his side. Given the nature of his work and the extensive list of enemies he has managed to acquire, this leaves me very little time for self-expression, as it were.

Bigotry is powered only by unwillingness

Part One

Last year I was playing Tears of the Kingdom in the living room where my grandma was.

I went to visit the Great Fairy, and she... well... she sounds like the Great Fairy. (For those who don't know, she moans like an Adult Video actress)

I thought I had my earphones plugged in, but I thought wrong.

So, my grandma heard the suspicious moaning, and said calmly: "sweet granddaughter, you're an adult so it's okay, but please be mindful of others and don't watch something like that in the living room."

Part Two

Today I decided to give my grandma a surprise visit, and when I walked into the front door, she was on the couch, watching a Journey to the West themed 🏳️‍🌈DRAG SHOW🏳️‍🌈.

Conclusion

Guys, there is no need to accept "...but the older generation..." as an excuse for bigotry. My grandma is 83. When it comes to acceptance, the only thing that is an obstacle is unwillingness. I do realise using my grandma's level of acceptance might be setting the bar quite high, but basic acceptance shouldn't be an unreasonable bar.

Grandma, I love you. May there be more grandmas like you.

Do humans without desires scare you or other demons, or do you simply live your lives interacting with them as little as possible, seeing as they don't benefit you?

I find that there are very few humans who truly have no desires, anonymous stranger. There are definitely humans who have humble desires - food and shelter, for example - while other humans want for very little, and only desire to keep what they already possess. The desire to live, the desire to leave a mark on the world, the desire to be known to others as what one truly is - these are the desires that I find most humans possess without even realising they are desires. Your species is truly fascinating in its lack of self-reflection.

Sebby, Pennywise is basically an entity who has lived since the beginning of the world (he is older than you, sorry to say... unfortunately, probably stronger too :( )

anywayy, he is extremely cruel monster who eats human flesh, especially children, because the more victim fear, the more it gets tasty. That's why IT eats children in Derry, he scares them with illusions, then eats them. He appears in Derry every 27 years and eats humans without looking at their age:( (I hate him)

Personally I think Pennywise is crueler than you. What do you think about him?

It sounds like he is a practiced cook who knows what he enjoys when it comes to his meals. I find that fear alone makes for poor flavouring for a human soul (it gets rather monotonous and bland), but that is a matter of personal taste. I wonder what kind of entity this Pennywise could be. He could be one of my kind, of course, but if he has been around since Earth came into existence he might be a different type of creature altogether.

As for cruelty... is it cruel to do what one needs to do to live? Humans eat animals to sustain themselves, and they season their flesh for their pleasure, yet when other creatures dare to season their food we are labeled as cruel. Humans truly are fascinating creatures.

Hello, Sebastian!! I was wondering, in a scenario where you were turned into a human for one day what sort of things would you do? Since you can’t taste human food in normal circumstances, is there something you’d like to try? Or is there a certain sensation you’d like to experience?

In such a scenario I would probably spend most of that day trying to find whoever did that to me so that I could offer them the appropriate reward once the day was over.

If I were to entertain the notion, and with the assurance that it would last one day only, I suppose I would seek out human concepts that are alien to me and try to understand them from a human sensory perspective. Substances that are addictive to humans normally hold no power over me, so I might seek those out.

Aside from this, the experience of being so powerless and weak would likely get tiresome rather quickly. Perhaps it would give me some insight into human psychology if I were to experience it for myself.

To my great regret, my contract binds me to save my master over everything and everyone else. Not even the plight of that most delightful of creatures could come before my duty, although I would certainly go to great lengths to ensure that I could save both.

Dear Sebastian, this question my seem like a weird one, but when you and Ciel first got into the manor and you made him food for the first time, was it made out of you? Like when you made a chair out of that black stuff? Is all the manor made out of you? I am sorry for the weird question, have a great day!

It was not so much made of me as it was made of matter that I had manipulated into appearing like human food. It is not made of me, but cannot exist without me. As for the Phantomhive manor, it is entirely composed of earthly materials. My master has me rebuild any damage done to it painstakingly by hand, brick by tedious brick.

Hey Sebastian, does your body just abide the laws of physics automatically, or do you “steer” your hair, for example, into the right directions?

Once I have willed a form into being it becomes a physical manifestation, which means it will adhere to the laws of physics as any other physical object would. There are ways to counteract this of course, but in my current position I rarely get to employ such methods, as my master prefers me to keep up the pretence of being an ordinary human being.
