I don’t see the point in debating the personhood of a fetus.
It doesn’t, like, matter? Whether or not we assign a fetus “personhood” doesn’t really change whether or not a pregnant person should be forced to give up their bodily autonomy against their will?
Like, woman can not just STEAL men’s livers in the dead of night, even if they NEED those organs to live? The elderly don’t get to just go around and harvest the kidneys of the young in back alleys? You can’t just, like, kidnap a person and drain all their blood, even if it is used for life saving procedures. Fully grown, autonomous people with rights and consciousness are not allowed to violate the bodily autonomy of others, even in deadly situations.
So…why would we let a fetus do this? Use another PERSON’S blood and uterus and stomach and everything else? For months? Altering their body irreparably? WITHOUT THEIR CONSENT?
No. Abortion is first and foremost an issue of consent and bodily autonomy, and any argument about personhood is a distraction from that.
If you want a good dystopian trilogy to read, read The Blackcoat Rebellion books. I just finished Queen and I couldn’t be more pleased with the ending. Each book was a complete page turner. Please read! I know you’ll love it!
‘hi’
I see you I see you so beautiful I see you so strong I see you so magical but still you won’t see me I’m invisible I’m useless I’m worthless I’m unlovable I’m unlikable I’m just me I never wanted love from you I never wanted anything except just a friendly smile just a little hug just to say hi and be told ‘hi’ back It was never my intention to be loved I just wanted I only wished to be liked at least a little just a little bit Sometimes I tell myself it’s over but then I look at your picture and the feelings overwhelm me once again So I said ‘hi’ but you won’t say ‘hi’ back because it seems I’m not even worth a simple greeting just a simple a minuscule ‘hi’

Si te metes con UNA te metes con TODAS. Somos fuertes y vamos a seguir luchando para que casos como el de Lucía Perez no se repitan, ni en Argentina, ni en Colombia ni en NINGUNA parte del mundo.

This is from exactly a week ago, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which is my city, and it shows our Congress which lit up with pink lights for the occasion, that being the #NiUnaMenos (“not one less”) march against gender violence. This march was not only in Argentina but also in Brazil and it was organized so as to raise awareness due to the increasing number of femicides, domestic violence and other forms of abuse. To bring attention to the everyday groping, harassment, sexist comments and sexual assault that women are subjected to. To fight for the human rights we’re entitled to.
Women in society throughout the world have to constantly face inequality, for centuries now, in the different spheres of our lives and it is not for women to adapt to these kinds of environments so this must most definitely be put to an end. It is time to understand that women should be able to speak up and be heard. It is time that all of society realizes that when a woman says no, she said NO; that she shouldn’t be forced into situations without her consent. That when a woman wants to have an education, she must be allowed that right. That when it comes to employment, she must be considered as an equal and therefore must not be seen as an inferior to the male gender. That when it comes to political and administrative matters, women should have the same opportunities and rights.
Many people get confused as to what feminism actually means. The feminist movements’ goal is to achieve equality for women and for everyone; it’s not women seeking for superiority over men.
And to finish off with this post, I wanted to share with you something that I read the other day, which relates to the Brock Turner case and many others: “I see a pattern emerging in the rape culture that suggests that women have a past, while men have a potential. When women are violated, we’re asked ‘what did you do to deserve this?’ and often our past is looked at for clues. When men violate women, they’re asked 'what do you have to lose?’ and their future is looked at for clues.”
