I love the Mundane
I do. I love the simple, the unnoticed, the everything, the everyday. Do you ever stop to think about the close-to-infinite events that lead a person into a deli on a random day? Their entire lineage, every battle they fought, every day they lived, every step of the evolutionary process? I do.
We don’t see art, normally. We have to be told that something is art, then, a few of us will ponder “where is the art?”. Some see art in the process, others in the product. Some see art in the idea. Some were teached not to see art at all. That is a bit sad, in my opinion.
I assure you that seeing art everywhere is considered to be a crazy thing. Most people have high art standards, art definitions that are beyond their describing capabilities. At the end of the day, anything that you think is art, is. To anyone that thinks about it enough, everything is or has art. Almost everything.
Sorry, I was talking about the mundane and got distracted for two paragraphs. Anyway… Every brick on a brick road was planned in some way; there is art to the engineering of the brick and art to the designing of the road. All those bricks were placed by someone, one way or another. People fail to consider that.
I’m not sure if I can blame them, though. If you’ve seen the Mona Lisa on every corner outside, you’d stop thinking of it as notable art. In fact, that has happened exactly like that. There are so many Mona Lisa-inspired pieces of art that the original has almost become like a brick in the road.
I don’t want that. No piece of art is gimmicky in the ever-present existence of everything. Clichés require context. I am fine with that. Just for one moment, see the brick in the same way the very first brick-maker - or whatever they called themselves a billion years ago - saw it. It feels good.
whatever. does this to you

Not a single victory
Daisy learns how to float, sorta – My brother pointed out that it looks like Daisy is kicking her feet like Luigi would to help keep herself floating, and now I kinda hope that one day Nintendo gives her a jump that’s a mix of Luigi’s scuttle jump and Peach’s float, just cause it'd be cute.
