Second Try || Sabrina & Rick
sabri-nahh:
Having her pale fingers wrapped gently against the warmth of his palms provided a comfortable sense of security. As if somehow… Everything will be alright. Everything’s going to be okay. Because… He’s here. I’m here.
“Really..?” A sudden tug on her chest caused her to grip his hands tightly against her chest, feeling that if she ever lets go, he’d disappear. “You won’t… Leave me?” Just the idea alone caused an immeasurable pain, remembering the last time she placed her whole love on the line. “If you do– I… Completely understand. I wont hold it against you.” After all, she caused him so much suffering. So much pain… I don’t deserve this.
Shrugging her last sentence with a nervous laugh, she couldn’t help but bring up both of his hands up, pressing her lips gently against his knuckles. “For what is worth… I love you, Rick. And I mean it.” At this rate, they’ll never make it to the Fireworks.
Rick kissed the back of her knuckles as soon as she stopped kissing his, making a quiet and alarmed sound. “Sabrina, no, listen, I’m not going anywhere. I can’t. Do you know what that would be like? Seeing your eyes in every star? Feeling your warmth in every chick I held? Remembering-” He cut off suddenly in a shocked sort of laugh, shaking his head. “Remembering how you had to chase the chickens back into the pen when you let them out that one time?” His eyes glimmered in amusement behind his glasses.
No. She’d be everywhere, in every breath he took - for the rest of his life, for better or for worse - and there was no escaping that.
“You’re...you’re mine. I’m yours. You make me feel like I can take on the world when you’re here. A-and I’m gonna do whatever it takes to show you.”
Was this too much to ask? Maybe. But it was on his mind now. He cleared his throat. “What’s...this is completely irrelevant, don’t look at me like that - what’s your favorite stone?”
