⚔ - Jake waits at the front desk as the librarian processes his returned books, foot idly tapping against the ground as he waits for her to finish. He had been planning on checking out a few more today, if they had anything new in stock. 

Reading wasn’t exactly the half-elf’s favorite thing to do (not because he was dumb, but because he got restless quickly), but if it meant being a better father to Orland, he was more than happy to do it. Well. Maybe not happy... but it was a necessary sacrifice, one he was willing to make.

Once the librarian lets him know everything is in order, Jake nods, turning to head into the library proper when---

“Whoa. ‘Scuse me.” He takes a step back before running into the taller man that had been approaching the desk, a vague sense of familiarity striking the half-elf when his eyes land on the man’s face. Did he know this guy from somewhere?

“I think…the worst has to be when I went to this party. I think it was when I was nineteen…? Twenty, maybe? But I snuck out of some hotel my family was staying at and snuck into a party I came across. Nobody really cared that they didn’t know who I was. It was one of those things where the party just got too out of hand and all sorts of people just dropped in, so it was just all good fun. But then there was this game of spin the bottle and one of the guys thought it was a good idea to just…jump right in with tongue. Just dived directly in. I think I slapped him for that.” She laughed.

“Hard workers.” Georgia says, matter-of-factly. “I wouldn’t even consider marryin’ someone if they didn’t have their life together. So a home, a job, stable income… I just wanna know that they’re the type of person that can take care of themself, and that I won’t have to do it for ‘em. Someone who can be in an equal partnership with me.”

She huffs, “Basically, a person that’s capable and reliable… kind hearted, too. I think that’s the sort of person I wouldn’t mind gettin’ hitched to.”
