I saw your latest reblog, and before I say anything else, I would like to headline this with a quote
"If you can tell stories, create characters, devise incidents, and have sincerity and passion, it doesn't matter a damn how you write." — Somerset Maugham
Self-doubt is natural in writing, and while we readers don't always let our support be known, we do support your work and appreciate the effort you put into writing them by going back to reading them whenever we can. For me, you don't have to worry about whether your writing is bad or not, heck, I'm a fan of some pretty crappy fics myself but that's because I can tell that so much of the author's heart is poured into the story they want to tell that drew me in. True, they're not made professionally or are getting paid for writing a 3-volume-sized saga of an AU of their favorite show but we enjoy them anyway because the author does as well.
I hope you write because you enjoy it, not because your obligated or forcing yourself to. Don't let doubt stop you from sharing what you make, but having doubt is proof you're on your way to making something great, should you go on carrying it.
If you ever feel like you're short on people rooting for you, don't hesitate to share it here or with anyone who cares about you. If there's a way to prove it, just let us know. There may not be a lot of us but we're still willing to try, I know I am.
Thanks for this, I appreciate it. Definitely needed to hear it :'3
Sometimes it can get hard for me too 'cause the main reason I write is 'cause for me, it's a way to connect with others. Kinda hard to explain it, but writing about emotions, about characters and telling a story with both and seeing peep's reactions from it just gives me that feeling of connection. And I hope too, it touches peeps in the feels, 'cause if peeps feel, i feel. Sometimes I have the emotions of a white wall, lol. So, support, helps me feel connected to others, especially in fandoms 'cause I'm not the best at engaging in fandoms in other means, hahaha - I'm pretty bad at it.
But hopefully, yeah, the doubt is a sign that great things can happen if I keep at it. And I'm not the best at sharing my own emotions/thoughts so I will do my best to reach out to others when I'm having these doubts v.v
And that quote is like so bad ass :O
